Bill Russell edit

I think I have addressed some of your concerns regarding the article, have a look. Quadzilla99 19:01, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I did some work on the writing for his career section, look it over and tell me what you think. Thanks. Quadzilla99 09:23, 12 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bill Russell Image edit

I uploaded the image you found to Wikimedia Commons for two reasons: That type of image should probably be there anyway so it can be used anywhere on Wikimedia, and it was titled wrong because the description on the source says it was from his college days. Here's the image page:[1]. Anyways, thanks for finding the great pic! Quadzilla99 00:08, 10 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Great job! edit

Great job finding that Chamberlain pic. I moved it up to the infobox as the infobox. I assumed you put it down there because he wasn't as well known as a Globetrotter however the infobox is used to show what the person looks like it doesn't have to be of any particular era. Thanks a ton! Quadzilla99 22:22, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oops I see someone else uploaded it, Oh well you found it for the article so Congrats anyways! Quadzilla99 22:24, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Michael Jordan edit

Good work, I agree with almost all of your changes. I changed 1-2 things around here or there. I can see now how several things probably didn't even deserve to be in there. Good work. Quadzilla99 02:48, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Even though I agree like I said and won't change anything, it is pretty ridiculous how we can't even say things which we can prove as true in the MJ article because they appear to be biased, even if they aren't. I mean people are complaining that we are saying Michael Jordan (Michael fucking Jordan!) was actually a success as a basketball player and a media sensation (seriously). I mean look at the Britannica article:[2] There it states in the opening sentence, "American collegiate and professional basketball player, widely considered to be the greatest all-around player in the history of the game." and "At 6 feet 6 inches (1.98 metres), Jordan, a guard, was an exceptionally talented shooter and passer and a tenacious defender. He earned the nickname “Air Jordan” because of his extraordinary leaping ability and acrobatic maneuvers." That goes farther than the Wiki article ever did, we never even said outright he was the greatest of all time. I mean Wikipedia has reached the point of absurdity when stuff printed in Encyclopedia Britannica is considered radically biased and full of weasel words and POV. People here would say the Britannica article reads like a fanboy article, when actually it's just stating common knowledge. Quadzilla99 04:15, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Either way I think we're actually making progress and a lot of issues have been addressed. So we'll see what people say, some of them might change their mind when they see it now. Quadzilla99 09:46, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Jordan FAC edit

The Michael Jordan FAC has been re-listed (which was probably a good idea). Thought you'd like to know, here's a quick link. Quadzilla99 14:48, 15 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Toronto Raptors edit

Hi there, the Toronto Raptors article is currently undergoing a FAC nomination. As you've had some experience raising the Michael Jordan article to FA status, it would be great if you could pop by the Raptors article and provide some feedback. If you can't, that's fine too! Thanks, Chensiyuan 10:57, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

The article has since undergone a revamp, additional feedback regarding the FAC nom would be most welcome, thanks. Chensiyuan 14:03, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

FL Main page proposal edit

You either nominated a WP:FLC or closed such a nomination this year. As such, you are the type of editor whose opinion I am soliciting. We now have over 400 featured lists and seem to be promoting in excess of 30 per month of late (41 in August and 42 in September). When Today's featured article (TFA) started (2004-02-22), they only had about 200 featured articles and were barely promoting 20 new ones per month. I think the quality of featured lists is at least as good as the quality of featured articles was when they started appearing on the main page. Thus, I am ready to open debate on a proposal to institute a List of the Day on the main page with nominations starting November 1 2007, voting starting December 1 2007 and main page appearances starting January 1 2008. For brevity, the proposal page does not discuss the details of eventual main page content, but since the work has already been done, you should consider this proposal assuming the eventual main page will resemble either an excerpted list format or an abbreviated text format. The proposal page does not debate whether starting with weekly list main page entries would be better than daily entries. However, I suspect persons in favor of weekly lists are really voicing opinions against lists on the main page since neither TFA nor Picture of the day started as weekly endeavors, to the best of my knowledge. Right now debate seems to be among support for the current selective democratic/consensus based proposal, a selective dictatorial approach like that used at WP:TFA or a non-selective first in line/calendar approach like that used at WP:POTD. See the List of the Day proposal and comment at WP:LOTDP and its talk page.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 18:55, 15 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Featured List of the Day Experiment edit

There have been a series of proposals to initiate a Featured List of the Day on the main page. Numerous proposals have been put forth. After the third one failed, I audited all WP:FL's in order to begin an experiment in my own user space that will hopefully get it going. Today, it commences at WP:LOTD. Afterwards I created my experimental page, a new proposal was set forth to do a featured list that is strikingly similar to my own which is to do a user page experimental featured list, but no format has been confirmed and mechanism set in place. I continue to be willing to do the experiment myself and with this posting it commences. Please submit any list that you would like to have considered for list of the day in the month of January 2008 by the end of this month to WP:LOTD and its subpages. You may submit multiple lists for consideration.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 15:50, 17 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Collaboration of the Month

Magic Johnson has been chosen to be our very first Collaboration of the Month article. Although this is article is already a Good Article, it still can be improved. The goal is to improve this article by the end of May so that it can be nominated for Featured Article status. In particular, free-use images should be found for the article, all Manual of Style guidelines should be followed, and a neutral point of view should be maintained throughout the article. If there is anything you can do to improve the article, then please help out.

Bill Russell FAR edit

Hello,

I wanted to let you know that I intend to take the Bill Russell article to WP:Featured article review. This is something I've been planning to do for a while. I'll list my rationale at the FAR page shortly, and send you a message when that discussion is live.

Thanks, Zagalejo^^^ 05:49, 22 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

FAR is live edit

Bill Russell has been nominated for a featured article review. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. Please leave your comments and help us to return the article to featured quality. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, articles are moved onto the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article from featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. Reviewers' concerns are here. Zagalejo^^^ 06:44, 22 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I am here to inform you that this WikiProject is having a callout. If you do not respond in one week after this message, we will automatically move you to the "Inactive list". Thank you for your time and co-operation. -- SRE.K.Annoyomous.L.24[c] 00:06, 28 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

List of Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States edit

I have nominated List of Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States for featured list removal here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured list criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks, where editors may declare to "Keep" or "Remove" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here.

NowCommons: File:Billrussellolympics.JPG edit

File:Billrussellolympics.JPG is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Billrussellolympics.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Billrussellolympics.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 16:54, 13 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Reviewer granted edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:51, 15 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
