There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
    Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
    Help contribute to articles
    Perform maintenance tasks

Become a member of a project that interests you
    Help design new templates
Subscribe and contribute to The Signpost
Translate articles from Wikipedias in other languages

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your userpage.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the   button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:2021 book adaptations edit

A tag has been placed on Category:2021 book adaptations indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! Talk! 15:54, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • It was a mistake to create the page actually, since there was already a category that was similar. Wallglobemat (talkand contribs) 15:56, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Tagging pages for speedy deletion edit

Hello, Wallglobemat,

Before tagging any more pages for speedy deletion, please review Criteria for Speedy Deletion so you know what the criteria are, when they apply and to what name space they apply. For example, there are quite a few CSD criteria that apply just to articles but not to drafts.

You might also find Twinkle to be a helpful program. If you use it to tag pages, it will show you what the possible criteria are for that page and also post a notice to the talk page of the page creator which is an important step in the deletion process. Set up your Preferences to "Notify page creator" for this to always occur.

If you have questions about the deletion process or editing on Wikipedia, please visit the Teahouse. I found it very helpful when I was a new editor. Thanks. Liz Read! Talk! 20:49, 15 June 2021 (UTC) I already have Twinkle. I also read WP:CSD but did not find any mentions of autobiographies.Wallglobemat (talkand contribs) 20:55, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

CGOL (disambiguation) edit

Hi, I PRODded this disambiguation page a week ago and it was deleted just now. Sorry for not notifying you; I wrongly assumed, without checking, that it was Pyramids09 who had created the page since they were the one who had notified me about it on my own talk page, hence why I unchecked "Notify page creator" in Twinkle. Anyway, in a nutshell, it was decided that the page was unnecessary since it only linked between two pages, and only going in one direction. Ionmars10 (talk) 01:09, 18 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ionmars10 It is fine! Don’t be stressed about it, I accept your apology!

Have a nice day and thank you for your kindness! Pyramids09 (talk) 01:11, 18 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ionmars10 Oh wait this isn’t for me isn’t it? Pyramids09 (talk) 01:15, 18 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
It's for both of you, I suppose. Ionmars10 (talk) 01:18, 18 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Ionmars10 Huh, Ok. Pyramids09 (talk) 01:19, 18 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message edit

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:05, 23 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
