Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Visualreverb. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Draft:Immy Tariq, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Chris Troutman (talk) 14:30, 22 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

I have not been covertly advertising and making valid edits with references. Please unblock me

Decline reason:

I see no block on this account. That's all I or any reviewer can say unless you provide the exact message that appears when you attempt to edit. 331dot (talk) 11:23, 2 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You are still able to view pages, but you are not currently able to edit, move, or create them.

I would again suggest that if you are in a residence as you state, that you ask around to see who else has been blocked from editing Wikipedia so that they can request unblock. I am not convinced this is just a coincidence; maybe you can convince the next admin to review this, but I'm not. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 12:08, 2 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you are being affected by a block on another user, then you have some sort of connection that user. What might that be? 331dot (talk) 11:29, 2 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
(talk) We may have a similar IP address range that is all I can think of. Multiple people live in this house? Visualreverb (talk) 11:33, 2 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Since the block affecting you is on another account, it's probably the IP address itself, not just a range. I might suggest that you ask the others who live in your residence if any of them have been blocked from editing Wikipedia. We don't know who is sitting at the computer/using the IP address. "Visual reverb" sounds like the name of a business or agency of some kind. Is that the case? 331dot (talk) 11:40, 2 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
(talk) I will ask, how do I get this account itself unblocked though? No it is not a business or agency , just my gamer tag as I'm a sound engineer by trade. Visualreverb (talk) 11:49, 2 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Both you and the other account have edited about gamers and other business people. Any particular reason for that? 331dot (talk) 11:56, 2 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
(talk) No particular reason, this is a gamer house without a doubt. Coincidences . If you check my IP log I frequently travel. Visualreverb (talk) 12:01, 2 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
From looking at the logs, it appears that you are using an identical device as well? SQLQuery me! 12:08, 2 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
(talk) Yeah likely is it strange to share computers? Visualreverb (talk) 12:09, 2 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
That's not what you said before, you said it was the same IP or house, not the same computer. It's strange when the two of you are editing about the same subject matter. In any event, you are free to make another request that someone else will review. 331dot (talk)`
