Eusébio edit

Please do not add or change content, as you did to Eusébio, without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. GiantSnowman 15:42, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Either include a reliable source when you make the edit, or do not make the edit at all - it is as simple as that. Adding unreferenced information is a no-no, as a long-term editor such as yourself should already know. GiantSnowman 15:45, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Feel free to report me for adhering to our policies, but I fear it will WP:BOOMERANG on you. GiantSnowman 15:47, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Why didn't you include the references at the same time you made the original edits? GiantSnowman 15:52, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Add the references before you click 'save' - why is that so hard to understand? GiantSnowman 15:53, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Then why do you continue to save before adding the references? Please consider this a final warning, if you continue to revert and violate WP:BDP then I will block you. GiantSnowman 15:57, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
When you 'undo' my edit, please add the references before clicking on 'save' - why is that so difficult to understand? Do that and we have no problem here. GiantSnowman 16:01, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
But you are not adding the references when you save your edit! I have not removed any of your references because you have not actually added any. All you have done is re-add the unreferenced material. As I have said so many bloody times - click 'undo' to my edit, then add your references, and then click save. It is very simple. GiantSnowman 16:04, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
If you have references, then why have you not included any to date in the article? Please add them now, I will not edit any further to allow you to do so. GiantSnowman 16:14, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Please don't be such a WP:DIVA. Your work has not been deleted, all you need to do is 'undo' my edit; add the references; click on 'save'. I now understand your edits were made in GF, but that doesn't excuse the fact that you have still not referenced it, even though you have had plenty of time to do that. GiantSnowman 16:43, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
You are looking for WP:ANI. I urge you to read WP:BOOMERANG before you post. GiantSnowman 16:54, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
While I believe the situation could have been handled better by everyone, there is nothing to be gained by further discord on this subject. You have been given an adequate chance to properly cite your additions; I suggest you either do so, or not, and move on. I have closed the discussion on my talk page and request that no further comment be made there. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 18:06, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
If anyone should be adding those sources is that junk of an admin GiantSnowman because I wanted to add them and he never let me. I know he won't do anything because it would look bad to him and his huge ego. Thank you for understanding 331dot, really. And sorry if you felt dragged into this. Tibullus (talk) 18:11, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
You might want to rethink the "junk of an admin" comment - we do issue blocks for personal attacks. Look, Tibillus ... the simple fact of the matter is that you are REQUIRED at all times to include your reference with the first edit - you don't get to add them later. That's the basic principle behind being verifiable, and it's even more important on WP:BLP and recently-deceased people's article. GS actually did the right thing, and you need to recognize that. Don't worry - internet crow is not that "untasty" ... just remove your personal attack above, and reference everything in the future, and this will all blow over ES&L 19:12, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
@EatsShootsAndLeaves: I know I was wrong. You are simply not being fair. You are giving me a different treatment to the "admin" and as far as I'm concerned that shouldn't happen. In fact from my point of view the "admin" should be seen as being more responsible in this than me, as he supposedly has to know the rules and I'm just a regular user. We both failed, yes. But who do you think has to be given so much rant aswell? I know I was wrong but so was he. And I'm not removing a single word of what I said. Tibullus (talk) 19:24, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
I'm not treating anyone differently or less fair - I simply saw a flaw in your argument, and thought it would be better for you to back down and let it blow over. GS is a reasonable person, based on my interactions. After all, as adults, we all know that "fairness" was something we left behind in Grade 6 :-) We do not force apologies, or else they're useless apologies ES&L 16:31, 6 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

@EatsShootsAndLeaves: If the "admin" was understandable, the community would have a better article. And I am sorry for two things: 1) I'm sorry I forgot to add the references but believe me, they were too much. 2) I'm very sorry I wasted my own time in writing bits for that article and verifying the sources just so some sadistic "admin" could have fun and revert it some half a dozen times, I could have spent it doing something useful. I'm never going to touch that article because of the mentioned person and I sure don't want any other sort of interaction with that ignoble "admin" of yours. Tibullus (talk) 17:55, 6 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

This will be your final warning: retract all of your violations of WP:NPA above - this is ridiculous. You can't attack someone like this in your office, and you sure as hell cannot do it here. Your ridiculous attacks are merely reducing the validity of your argument - so much so that I'm refusing to read anything else until you smarten up and remove the attacks. ES&L 18:01, 6 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
@EatsShootsAndLeaves: You're not even reading anything else. I'm trying to be really comprehensive to what you're doing but you're just interested in the adjectives I use with your special friend. You man up and stop covering your friend's rear. Tibullus (talk) 18:09, 6 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
And calling them "special friend" is uncivil towards me, so stop. Look, GS already admitted on ANI that he screwed up. He cannot be forced to apologize further, not should he. I assume that you're a fricking adult, act like one, retract your attacks and move on. You agreed to a set of rules when you signed up, and NPA was one of them. I'm TRYING to look further into your issue, but just like George W wouldn't "negotiate with terrorists", I don't negotiate with those that violate the core principles in such an extreme manner. ES&L 18:16, 6 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
@EatsShootsAndLeaves: That's quite an analogy, isn't it? Comparing a valuable user who has been registered for almost seven years with "terrorists". You're just a reflection of what admins seem to be these days and how they look down on regular users. You're the better men, aren't you? I have moved on. Like I told you, I don't want any sort of interaction with your sidekick. I'm not apologizing for my remarks just as your comrade didn't apologize for his actions even after he acknowledged I was acting in good faith. Simple. Tibullus (talk) 18:28, 6 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Your lack of reading (again, a forced apology is not an apology, so don't ask for one), your adding motive to my attempts to help you, and your unwillingness to do the right thing speaks volumes about you. Congratulations. ES&L 18:36, 6 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
@EatsShootsAndLeaves: So you're not forcing me to apologize even if you have threatened me numerous times to retract my comments. Really don't reply to this and bugger off. Go join your amigos in doing what you love to do, ruining other people's hardwork. Snobs. Tibullus (talk) 18:49, 6 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

T asked me for help, but there is nothing to see here edit

In regard to https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk%3ACeyockey&diff=589309474&oldid=588537522 -- there is nothing to help here. You (Tibullus) need to understand the extreme sensitivity that is often exhibited around sourcing material properly on biography articles. It is not a matter of blocking your work; you can easily assemble a properly sourced and expertly crafted passage on a subpage of your user page then put it into the article in one chunk. There isn't much room here for explanation of motivations or tossing around 'you lousy rats admins' mud; actions are actions ... editing without requested support is editing asking to be removed. However, one solution rather than deletion could have been addition of one or more Template:Citation_needed instances; that is a common approach throughout wikipedia ... in the first 50 transclusions of this template there are biographies of Aldous Huxley and Alfred Hitchcock and Alfred Korzybski. The question of whether to remove the citation needed-tagged passages or not from biographies seems to be less about 0-tolerance for uncited material and more about the impact of that material on the substance of the biography, and I've not reviewed the input in question here to be able to speak to that. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 17:45, 7 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

A beer for you! edit

Thank you for your edits on en.wp In ictu oculi (talk) 00:11, 10 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
I have just noticed that the editor who blocked you for the Portuguese name on the Portuguese rugby union club has been asked to step down from admin duties for something not totally dissimilar to the treatment you received. FWIW I have asked at the Rugby Union project here how to improve the article. All the best. In ictu oculi (talk) 00:14, 10 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
@In ictu oculi: Hi, it's very nice to see my work is appreciated here. The regular user's hunger to seek knowledge and improve articles the best way only they can is what thrives me. Fortunately you are one among many who insist on growing Wikipedia beyond its current status and for that you have my admiration. I've decided not to further interact with admins because I will not be dictated upon by some elitists who really don't help the community, and only steam hate between various members. Maybe times will change and they'll know how to behave regarding users who have given so much to the whole Wikipedia project but oligarchy rule will apply here for quite some time. Cheers and happy editing! Tibullus (talk) 13:59, 10 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Template:UEFA Women's Champions League edit

A tag has been placed on Template:UEFA Women's Champions League requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page's talk page, where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Koppapa (talk) 11:21, 14 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello,

I saw that you recently changed the name of a page which I created from 1979 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira to 1979 Supertaça de Portugal

Would it be possible to change the name of the article entitled List of Portuguese football transfers winter 2012 to List of Portuguese football transfers winter 2011–12.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Portugal national rugby union team, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Pedro Leal (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Invitation from Wikimedia Portugal edit

(English below)

Agradecemos desde já!

Hi! Wikimedia Portugal is the Portuguese chapter of Wikimedia, founded in 2009 and recognized by the Wikimedia Foundation. Our mission is to contribute to the general dissemination of knowledge and culture through the incentive to the collection and creation of content without restrictions on use, modification and distribution, and promote their difusion; we promote and support the Wikimedia Foundation projects, among which Wikipedia, with emphasis on projects in Portuguese and Mirandese.

We would like however to count on the support of (and in turn ourselves support) all volunteers that are citizens, resident, or simply interested in Portugal. Despite being founded in 2009, the chapter has gone through a long period of inactivity that we are trying to overcome. We have sent you this message to invite you, if you are interested, to enroll as associate to the chapter, demonstrate your support to the existence of a chapter in Portugal, and get involved in the discussion of future activities by registering in the mailing list. Recentely, the Wikimedia Affiliations Committee suspended support to Wikimedia Portugal pending, among other things, the support from the community of portuguese editors.
