After reviewing the old article, while a lot of sources were cited, many seemed to be inaccessible, not reliable sources, and/or trivial mentions - people probably concluded the there was no real notability because if how the article was sourced. My strategy is to separate sources into classes, illustrating which ones support notability on a GNG basis and which ones are trivial mentions (but are used anyway) WhisperToMe (talk) 05:23, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

Reckoners series

Hi Thue,

Thanks for getting the Steelheart article started! As for the series name, I've seen "Reckoners Series" (or trilogy) referred to several times, including the reference I used (http://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/childrens/childrens-industry-news/article/59374-brandon-sanderson-steelheart-promotion-takes-flight.html). I've been following Sanderson a long time and he will often use a different (unofficial) term for a book. Since people know "Steelheart" as a name, he is referring to the sequel unofficially as that. Also, the character Steelheart dies at the end of the first book so (barring resurrection) the series isn't about him but is about the Reckoners themselves.

Other sites (Goodreads, Amazon, etc.) all use "Reckoners Series" or just "Reckoners". Example at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Steelheart-Brandon-Sanderson/dp/0385743564) is: "#1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson, coauthor of Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series and creator of the internationally bestselling Mistborn Trilogy, presents Steelheart, the first book in the Reckoners series, an action-packed thrill ride that will leave readers breathless. The worst place to wander off topic...

... is the article lead. Lead is supposed to be the summary of the entire article, except for trivial identification data. But criticizing related subjects (as opposed to the subject itself) must certainly not be done in the lead.

Depends on what you use it for. /r/netsec is a subreddit with very competent posters, and the actual example post is easily verifiable if you have access to a $5/month Linux virtual server, so IMO it is OK in this case. Thue (talk) 21:46, 26 September 2014 (UTC)

Coal liquefaction

Hi Thue, This message is about Coal Liquefaction, on which I made some edits today. This article focused on coal conversion to liquid fuels, which has been the main conversion route for decades. This is not true anymore. I would suggest to make coal liquefaction (more properly and commonly called "coal to liquids") a part of a larger chapter called "coal to X" or "coal conversion". Then, there could be three subparts (whatever the order): - "coal to liquids" or "coal liquefaction" - "coal to SNG" or "coal to natural gas" or "coal to substitute natural gas" - "coal to chemicals". I would also propose to delete the table of US projects. Almost all of them have been canceled while several Coal To X units are being started every year in China. I will be happy to work with you if you consider it useful. Sorry if I do not respect the guidelines the best - I am not well familiar with Wikipedia. Thank you for your contribution to Wikipedia. Hi Neonergie. I don't own the page coal liquefaction, don't really know much about coal Liquefaction, and only made first trivial edit on the page. If you wan't to make edits which you are unsure of, or which you known will be controversial, the right thing to do is to write your suggestion at Talk:Coal liquefaction. If people there think it is a good idea, or even if nobody there answers, then you can choose to go ahead with your changes. For what it is worth, I think your suggestions sounds like a very good idea. The right thing to do, if implemented, would also be to rename the article to coal conversion.
