You bot warned me about missing details on two images, even though they both have full information described. --Shuki (talk) 20:11, 14 April 2013 (UTC)

Both are missing author information; scroll down a bit on their description pages. Cheers, —Theopolisme (talk) 22:48, 14 April 2013 (UTC)

Files with description details wrongly targetted

Dear uploader: The media files you uploaded as:
DESCRIPTION: Nablus road; Ain Sinai and Yebrud
DESCRIPTION: Pontoon bridge at Ghoraniyeh
DESCRIPTION: Pontoon bridge over Jordan River at Hajleh March, 1918
DESCRIPTION: Camels crossing pontoon bridge over Jordan River at Ghoraniyeh
DESCRIPTION: Photo of Wadi Es Salt
DESCRIPTION: The 5th Light Horse Regiment on alert, left bank outpost Ghoranyeh Bridgehead

are missing a description and/or other details on their image description pages. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the images, and they will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the images may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 09:02, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
The file page of all these photos have a description which I've copied and added above for your info. Please don't delete these perfectly ok files. --Rskp (talk) 01:26, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
These files are missing ...and/or other details—namely, author information. —Theopolisme (talk) 15:12, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for clarifying this - I've added the fields you require and the information that the photographers have not been identified, but a link has been added to the photo. --Rskp (talk) 00:47, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

How to instruct the bot to reduce an image's file size(Documentation, please!)

It would be nice if there was documentation. Can other users instruct the bot? How do I have it shrink File:HMG_IS2_Full_Accreditation_Statement.jpg? I guess I/they can; it acts when it sees {{non-free ]]reduce}}.

The {{non-free reduce}} should be modified to reflect that it will trigger a bot.

...and I see this is a new bot... good work!--Elvey (talk) 14:59, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Anyone can add {{non-free reduce}} to an image. For example, I do that all of the time, and this causes the bot to reduce the resolution. However, File:HMG IS2 Full Accreditation Statement.jpg is a textual work, so a proper reduction would be to remove some of the words, not to remove some of the pixels. --Stefan2 (talk) 15:06, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

URL?

Your bot is asking me to give the URL where these images were found. As stated in the image descriptions, I took these pictures myself, and am therefore unable to provide non-existent URL. Your bot instructions give no help in explaining what to do in instances where user is the author of said images. Images in question:

Missing description details

When I went to the "this form" link to report an error, I got a 404 error. The bot's given me three separate warnings about the same page (1, 2, and 3), including two today. I understand why the first was given, but I don't understand why it suddenly seems to be obsessing about it. Nyttend (talk) 16:34, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

For Nyttend and anyone else with this question, please see this thread. —Theopolisme (talk) 21:45, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
By the way, did you note that the error-reporting page is down? Using IE8, I clicked the link, accepted the cookie, and promptly got a 404 error. Nyttend (talk) 18:41, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
Hmm; error reporting is all done through github.com, which I don't have any control over. Might want to bring it up with their support team? —Theopolisme (talk) 21:17, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
Ah, okay. The only other offsite bot-error reporting that I can remember seeing is for the Cluebots; their website (http://review.cluebot.cluenet.org) is affiliated with whoever runs the bots, so I simply assumed that you ran github, about which I know nothing. Nyttend (talk) 21:32, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
I wish. :) —Theopolisme (talk) 22:42, 26 April 2013 (UTC)

Sourcing

i see you left a "Better source request for some of your uploads" at an inactive user User talk:AgnosticPreachersKid, where a link was provided for the images, but there was link rot, i.e. [1]; [2]. i take it you are unaware of Wikipedia:Don't template the regulars. what is the policy requirement for image sources? are you providing sources for existing images? Slowking4Farmbrough's revenge †@1₭ 13:04, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) At least one link works for me, but it goes directly to the image, so the claim that the image was published before 1923 can't be verified. Obviously scanned from a publication, but when was that publication published? --Stefan2 (talk) 13:19, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

I'm having issues with this bot as well. Please keep track of the talk pages it has posted to and dont repost the same information multiple times. It appears that you are using the talk page itself as record of whether or not you've posted and not tracking it internally. This is wrong. Once you've posted to a particular editors page, you should not post again there for some period of time (a week, a month)? It's frustrating to wade through bot posts to find posts from real editors looking for help.--RadioFan (talk) 11:40, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
Hi RadioFan, the bot will now only notify users once every 20 days. Thanks for your feedback! Theopolisme (talk) 14:15, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
Many thanks for being a responsible bot owner.--RadioFan (talk) 00:41, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

Spurious deletion threat from 'bot

Your bot leaves a message asking for more details in an image description. That's a bit of a problem by itself; I don't know how a 'bot determines whether the amount of description is sufficient, or if it is all that is available; after all, if the source of the image has a limited description, an editor should not make up details just to keep a bot from from nagging.

But my real complaint is this: Your bot threatens deletion of the image: "If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided." I call bullshit on this assertion. A description that does not have details is not grounds for deletion, and the bot should not leave alarmist messages like this that claim that an image may be deleted when there is nothing in Wikipedia policy to support the threat. Please reword your notice and remove any claim that the image may be deleted. TJRC (talk) 18:48, 14 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi there, TJRC. Sorry about that--I agree that the notification is a bit brash...then again, the goal of it is to get the attention of newer editors who might not understand the importance of descriptions, so that should be kept in mind as well. The notification comes directly from {{Add-desc-I}}, so you're welcome to propose/make changes over there. Cheers! Theopolisme (talk) 20:27, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. I've been WP:BOLD and updated it to remove the threat. I noticed there was an old comment on the template's talk page substantially mirroring my comment.
I don't object to getting the attention of newer editors, but misrepresenting Wikipedia policy to them is not an acceptable way of doing that. TJRC (talk) 21:52, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
Images of an unidentified subject frequently get deleted as useless, so the template seems accurate although a bit confusing. --Stefan2 (talk) 22:03, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
We're not talking about unidentified subjects. We're talking about a description that is present, but a bot guesses it to be insufficiently descriptive. Where is that grounds for deletion? TJRC (talk) 22:17, 14 May 2013 (UTC)

But a bot guesses it to be insufficiently descriptive; you're incorrect here. My bot makes no such guesses; it simply acts upon already-tagged images. Theopolisme (talk) 21:11, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

The bot escalated it to a deletion threat, though. TJRC (talk) 19:02, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Arkus financial services, company logo.png

Thanks for uploading File:Arkus financial services, company logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Ymblanter (talk) 07:18, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

TAFI tag on pages

Just a quick question regarding Task #7: is it possible to have this bot add the TAFI template directly below the hatnotes in articles? The reason for this request is that per WP:LEAD (section Elements of the lead), hatnotes basically are always placed at the very top of articles. If this is possible, it would help to maintain consistency in articles. Cheers, Northamerica1000(talk) 08:54, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

Filed on github; will get to it this weekend probably. Theopolisme (talk) 10:55, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
@Northamerica1000: The easiest way to do this would just be to place the template after the first set of closing brackets (}}) in the article. Does that sound okay? Theopolisme (talk) 11:17, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
Ping @Theo's Little Bot: - This could create problems in articles with multiple tags that utilize the {{Multiple issues}} template. Hey, by the way, thanks for all the help at WP:TAFI, which is appreciated. Also, I look forward to the prospect of nominations there being automatically moved to the project's Holding area, because when done manually, people continue to sort them out of order (chronologically) per the formatting of the page. Northamerica1000(talk) 11:42, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
The issue with searching for {{hatnote}}-related templates is that there are simply so many! If someone could work on assembling a list of all hatnote-related templates, that'd be great. :) Re: holding area moves, though...the bot already does this, unless I'm mistaken(?). Theopolisme (talk) 20:41, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
Ping @Theo's Little Bot: Thanks for replying. Here's many of the hatnotes listed at Category:Hatnote templates. Maybe this can help out. It's great that the bot is moving successful entries to WP:TAFINOM to WP:TAFIHOLD! The only thing I can see that would improve the process is for the bot to insert spacing between entries on the holding page (as they appear at the nominations page), to make it easier for people to schedule the articles. I manually added spacing recently, to prevent the edit page from appearing as a large wall of text. I'm really impressed with your work in helping the project, along with the amount of collaboration it has received at this point since its inception. Northamerica1000(talk) 04:22, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

@Northamerica1000: I just made it so the bot adds an extra blank line between entires in the holding area. Is that what you were looking for? Theopolisme (talk) 10:58, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

@Theo's Little Bot: Absolutely, and thanks! Northamerica1000(talk) 11:22, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

Archiving

Ping @Theo's Little Bot: I think that the parameter should be adjusted to increase the amount of time that unsuccessful entries are moved to the archive from 10 days to 15 days. This has been discussed at the project's talk page before. I think 15 days would be more appropriate, because many users only log on every few days or so, and many even less. Some entries may be being archived before there's enough time for people to read them. Northamerica1000(talk) 04:44, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

  Done—changed to 15 days. Theopolisme (talk) 10:54, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

Bot not working

At Wikipedia:Today's articles for improvement/Nominated articles, the bot seems to not be working correctly. It is removing two-week old nominations, but leaving five-week old nominations.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 15:06, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

How is this debugging going?--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 16:27, 3 June 2013 (UTC)
@TonyTheTiger: I can't debug until I recover the files from my computer's hard disk (see bottom of Wikipedia:Bots/Requests_for_approval/Theo's_Little_Bot_15). Right now, the script is running on autopilot on the Toolserver, but I can't ssh in/access my toolserver account until I retrieve my login credentials from the hard drive. Vicious circles indeed... Sc135, thanks for letting me know—the file was mistagged with {{bsr}}, which is why the bot notified you. I've removed the tag, so you shouldn't receive any more incorrect notifications. Cheers, Theopolisme (talk) 00:36, 31 July 2013 (UTC)

Double notification

This bot gave me the same notification twice. Once here, and once here. You may want to look into that. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 19:09, 29 July 2013 (UTC)

@Headbomb: This is actually intentional; the bot will notify users every 15 days (if I remember correctly...in any case, around that number). If you'd prefer not to be notified, you can follow the instructions at User:Theo's Little Bot/opt-out. Cheers, Theopolisme (talk) 23:35, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
It seems rather spammy to me. I'm not particularly concerned about myself here, but if you have an inactive user, you'll end up with 24-25 notices per year for each file. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 14:01, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
@Headbomb: The bot only notifies users if they don't have a notification on their talk page already. The idea is, if they're inactive, the notification would not be archived, so they wouldn't receive another one. Theopolisme (talk) 16:24, 31 July 2013 (UTC)

Problem edit

Hi, there appears to be a problem with this edit which changes the link destination to the page the link now redirects to. This is incorrect as it looses the actual destination of the link which is required in order to solve the dead link situation. Keith D (talk) 10:59, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi Keith, thanks for letting me know. The website itself (tottenhamhotspur.com) appears to return misleading HTTP status codes—for example, when I browsed to the URL that the bot "messed up," the website returned HTTP 200, which basically means "everything's a-okay," and gave no indication that the page had been redirected. So, when the bot thought it was getting the canonical url of the original link, it was actually getting the canonical url of where it had been redirected, without even knowing that it had been redirected (since the website gave no indication of that), which was obviously the wrong behavior. This seems like an edge case, though (a combination of canonical urls and bad web development), so I'm actually at a bit of a loss for how to handle this (and, furthermore, if there's even anything I can really handle). Nonetheless, thanks for reporting it, Theopolisme (talk) 15:10, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

COI

I see that the bot now adds a COI tag to some talk pages, as it did here, although I can't find it on the list of tasks. No explanation was given and no obvious sign of COI, so I'm wonder if this is intended for all articles. These types of mass change jam up watchlists for a while. -AndrewDressel (talk) 12:57, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi Andrew, sorry for the confusion. That edit was part of the trial for Wikipedia:Bots/Requests_for_approval/Theo's_Little_Bot_26, which is currently pending. Your feedback there is welcome. Thanks! Theopolisme (talk) 21:42, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
It appears I'm not the only one confused by COI tags being inserted for no apparent reason. here's another one. This seems like a bad idea. Where do I say so? -AndrewDressel (talk) 01:05, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

An interesting bot situation

Howdy. I was manually reducing the dimensions on some non free files when I came across this image. It appears that your bot left some interesting text on the page before it moved on. I've cleaned it up a bit. It isn't a big deal, but I figured you might want to know.--Rockfang (talk) 05:26, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi J. Van Meter! The file is missing author information in the {{Information}} template. Happy holidays, Theopolisme (talk) 20:41, 29 December 2013 (UTC)

Battle of the bots

I was stalking the history of my old pal Yintan's talk page, and noticed Theo's Little Bot and ClueBot III have apparently been edit warring over the past month... TheoBot repeatedly adding the same better source request notice, and ClueBot III archiving it. I'm guessing TheoBot is checking the visible talk page and not the history to see if the user has been notified? FYI unfortunately Yintan has retired, so highly doubtful he'll find a better source for the image. — MusikAnimal talk 01:28, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

Sorry about that -- [5] did it. Theopolisme (talk) 16:38, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
No problem, I think the white flag has been flown. I have to ask, does TheoBot always restore blanked notifications? I don't see a "better source request" listed at WP:UP#CMT as a type of notice prohibited to be removed or archived by the user. If the notice does not qualify, continuing to notify the user would indeed be tantamount to edit warring, from what I understand, and such issue with the bot should probably be addressed. Cheers — MusikAnimal talk 16:54, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
Well, the problem is that the bot has no easy way to track whether or not it's already notified a user about a specific file (currently it searches the talk page for the bsr template as well as checks a temporary log). Theoretically adding some sort of permanent database to track notifications would make sense, but unfortunately I just don't have the time currently.. Theopolisme (talk) 22:51, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

Fix your spam bot please

I don't need the same message come back over and over again? That's not even my photo, I just was fixing someone else's upload.

Surely you could code that thing so it doesn't essentially cyberstalk editors here. DreamGuy (talk) 03:25, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

@DreamGuy: See the above section; this is a known problem :/ In the meantime you can follow these instructions to opt-out. Thanks, and my apologies, Theopolisme (talk) 00:02, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Super Bowl XLVIII logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Super Bowl XLVIII logo.jpg.

Thank you. Corkythehornetfan (Talk) 03:13, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

Is it possible to opt out of Task 1 for a particular image?

Re your Task 1 reduction of File:National Pie Day 2014 poster.jpg (diff) I'd like to claim exemption on the grounds of 1) can't read the text in the image in the smaller version, which matters and 2) its a promotional item so we don't need to be as strict as usual. Is there a way to opt-out of image reduction for a particular file, like with some tag? Herostratus (talk) 12:28, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Possible bug

I'm not sure what happened here, but the bot wiped out a good chunk of the user's talk page and then redirected it to itself. I've undone the edit. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 19:26, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Rotten Tomatoes score/tt1535108

A tag has been placed on Template:Rotten Tomatoes score/tt1535108 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page's talk page, where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. — {{U|Technical 13}} (tec) 19:47, 2 February 2014 (UTC)

More detailed "problem" descriptions!

LittleBot just told me an image was missing it's "description or something else". The image had a description, so I guess it's missing something else? Or maybe the way it looks for a description doesn't work on this image?

In any event, the message is too vague to be useful unless it's actually missing a description. Is there no way to make these messages much more specific?

Maury Markowitz (talk) 15:55, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey Maury, thanks for getting in touch, and sorry for my belated reply (I was on vacation). The template that the bot substitutes can be found at Template:Description missing. In your case, the image was missing author information--however, I agree that the template should ideally be more detailed, but I'm not sure of the best implementation of that. I'll add this to my todo list, though! Happy editing, Theopolisme (talk) 20:35, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
Here's another example of unneeded whining from this bot. All these files have descriptions, and lots of useful identifying information. Whining about form fill in years after uploading is just being annoying.
Dear uploader: The media files you uploaded as:
   File:Stopbadwareyellowalert.png
   File:Pontiac1961.jpg
   File:Buick1961.jpg
   File:Woodruff1.png
are missing a description and/or other details on their image description pages. John Nagle (talk) 05:00, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Bot not following userspace redirects

See user talk:GiacomoReturned - 16 or so edits that should have gone to the talk page of the user's current name that have instead been left on the talk page of the name under which he uploaded the image. Perhaps a line of code could be added to follow the redirect, otherwise such messages may well be missed. Thanks, BencherliteTalk 13:39, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

@Theopolisme: Yo, Theo, I guess it's because of this issue, but TLB just nuked Giano's current talk page and replaced it with GiacomoReturned's (including a circular redirect at the top); perhaps the bug fix made a new bug? :) Writ Keeper  04:58, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
Huh, that's weird. If I had to guess it's probably something to do with the regex matching... I've disabled the bot until I have a chance to figure out what's going on. It *might* have something to do with Wikimedia Labs crashing and killing the bot midway through its run.... Theopolisme (talk) 11:48, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

A new issue on GitHub regarding your bot

Howdy. If you haven't noticed before reading this, I've created a new issue on GitHub related to this bot. It is issue #35.--Rockfang (talk) 16:17, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

Image with Incomplete Source

Hi there! Regarding the image you mentioned on my talk page, I replied to your message and changed the source. Please see my talk page for my response, and respond if you feel it's needed. Thanks for letting me know about the image. EmilyREditor (talk) 15:36, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

Size

After an image has bee reduced in size from 405 x 440 to 302 × 330 - arguably in unsatisfactory quality, the WP's built in resizer seemingly does a better job (it is activated by viewing the pic and pit "nnnpx-" in front of the output imnage) - are there any written guidelines what constitutes a suitable resolution for non-free logos? What are the underlying working principles of the bot? Please, kindly ping me {{ping|OAlexander}} with your reply. Cheers, OAlexander (talk) 13:04, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

@OAlexander: Wikipedia:Non-free_images#Image_resolution includes the formula which the bot implements -- obviously, there will always be edge cases, which is why humans work in the area too. :) Thanks for the message! Theopolisme (talk) 16:57, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

Image reduced to unreadable size

The image "RCAF Guelph Sparks Magazine Page 1.jpg" was reduced in size to unreadable condition. It's the front page of a newspaper from 1942 and uploaded at a resolution high enough to make it readable. This was done with the permission of the newspaper's owner (a museum). There are no copyright issues. Is there a way to mark this image so it will not be reduced in size? Thanks SteveTheAirman (talk) 17:27, 29 April 2014 (UTC)

A cupcake for you!

Hi! I know you're the one who is responsible for the single cover of Shane Filan's EVERYTHING TO ME song. I created page about the other single KNEE DEEP IN MY HEART. Please help me to upload the appropriate single art for that particular music page. Thank you DridsOBrien (talk) 22:48, 30 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi, sorry that I mess your file logo about the 103.5 K-Lite, and also, as soon as possible, can you make the new logo of 103.5 K-Lite with the new slogan "The Beat of Manila" from 103.5 K-Lite Facebook page, and upload it to the DWKX article, sorry again. Thank you. Badofilada (talk) 09:18, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

Recent image notifications

Hi, noticed bot passing by both File:BlacksmithsArms.JPG and File:Churchinterior.JPG. Automated info looks good to me. Happy for a commons upload. Thanks Dick G (talk) 15:11, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

Username conversion

Two of my older images (1, 2) had the modern Information template added by your bot. Generally the information extracted looked OK. I do have have one nit to pick. The Author name generated has an underscore instead of the space character. While this is functional with the way Wikipedia handles the URLs, it is less that esthetically pleasing. Please update the bot to get this right. --J Clear (talk) 12:54, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

After looking a bit closer at the actual wiki code inserted, the bot appears to add additional blank lines near the end of the |description. The first image cited above, has three blank lines at the end, and two blank lines above the last para. Both were single blank lines in the original. I would think you'd want to trim the trailing blank lines entirely, given it's going in a template. And not expand the interior blank lines. --J Clear (talk) 13:13, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

The bot made a mess

... of Giano's talk page with this edit. I've restored the previous version as Giano is away on holiday. Please review what went wrong (a talk page doesn't need to be redirected to itself and a bot should not be deleting editors' comments). I'd be grateful if you could sort out the problem before continuing as this is not an acceptable means of notifying editors. Cheers --RexxS (talk) 21:13, 25 May 2014 (UTC)

@RexxS: Thanks for letting me know. This should now be fixed -- please accept my apologies for this unfortunate mishap. Theopolisme (talk) 23:59, 25 May 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for your original uploading of the Museum of the American Revolution rendering. Your hard work is much appreciated. The Museum has a newer version of the rendering, which they're now releasing, File:Museum of the American Revolution 2014-03-27 NWRender web.jpg. It was suggested that I should mark your earlier version for deletion and let you know about the newer rendering. Best wishes, Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 20:53, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Is task 1 active and opt out?

Hi @Theopolisme:. Thanks for writing a great bot! Is task 1 running at the moment? There seem to be quite a few things in the queue that have been waiting for a while - for example File:"Pierre"_by_Stephen_Scott_Young.jpg (I'm not sure if 5 weeks wait is abnormal).

Also, is there a specific opt out for particular images that the bot might reduced too far? Presumably that's {{bots|deny=Theo's_Little_Bot}}?--Otus scops (talk) 13:41, 25 May 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for the message. That does seem rather abnormal. I haven't touched the code related to task 1 for quite some time... I'll attempt to take a look later today or tomorrow, though. Theopolisme (talk) 14:51, 25 May 2014 (UTC)
The bot doesn't always seem to work properly. I occasionally notice that the bot reduces a file tagged for reduction several weeks or months earlier (and not touched since then), so something is definitely wrong. --Stefan2 (talk) 21:40, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Non-free image File:1929 William Bennett, Labour.jpg

The copyright owner of this image, photographer w:en:James Lafayette (1853-1923) died over 90 years ago. This would seem to make the photograph eligible for a {{PD-old-70}} licence. If not, why not? Mike Hayes (talk) 02:58, 20 September 2014 (UTC)

It says that the photograph was taken in 1929. How can the photographer have died in 1923, if the photograph wasn't taken until 1929? --Stefan2 (talk) 12:46, 20 September 2014 (UTC)

Oldid parameters for Template:Former TAFI?

User:Theopolisme, can you change your bot to add them? I think the best way would be to slap {{Former TAFI|oldid1={{subst:REVISIONID:{{subst:SUBJECTPAGENAME}}}}}} (or something similar) on the talk page when adding the {{TAFI}} tag, and then just add |oldid2= when removing it. File:CrissAngelBeLIEveTVcard.jpg

I have tagged File:CrissAngelBeLIEveTVcard.jpg as being an orphaned non-free file. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. Otherwise, it will be deleted in seven days. ww2censor (talk) 09:34, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

User:Ww2censor: When you tag a file as orphaned, you should notify the original uploader, not the bot which reduced the file to satisfy WP:NFCC#3b. The original uploader is the user who created the first textual revision of the file information page. --Stefan2 (talk) 15:33, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
quickimgdelete.js is supposed to do all the functions necessary but maybe it is broken, beside which I can only see the bot upload and nothing else. ww2censor (talk) 15:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
