June 2023 edit

Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Sinha. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Ekdalian (talk) 14:52, 5 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Dear Ekdalian Sir, It is to be submitted that the edits I did to Sinha surname and family name is completely based on original research and verified reliable sources. It is also pertinent to mention that the aforesaid surname is used by Chitraguptavanshi Kayasthas (specially by Ambashthas. I have proof that this title is mostly and typically used by Kayasthas and Chitraguptavanshi Kayasthas. You can even confirm it from Google. I agree that I am a new editor on this platform and hence, it would be possible that I have made mistakes on editing but this editing was based on reliable sources. I know several people who have surname Sinha and are Chitraguptavanshi Kayasthas (typically Ambashthas) in Bihar, Jharkhand, and whole East India. There are several people on whom, articles are written on Wikipedia are having Sinha surname and most people belong to Kayastha (typically Ambashthas). Read Shatrughan Sinha, Jayant Sinha, Yashwant Sinha, Sachidanand Sinha, Yashvardhan Kumar Sinha, etc, my talk page and other web articles on Google. Even I am also Sinha surname and family name holder and I belong to Chitraguptavanshi Ambashtha Kayastha. It might be possible that you are right but by my researches, I am totally right. I researched from Google search engine. I also researched by talking to more than 21 people, they all belonged from Ambashtha subgroup. I also read blogs of several people on Google who have Sinha as their surname and family name, they all belonged from Chitraguptavanshi Kayastha (all were Ambashthas. This editing was done on original search and verified reliable sources. If you even don't believe and you think if I am lying, you can search on google and read several blogs on Google. Please rollback the article(s) to my edits after verifying. If you think that I am wrong again, you can come and contact me here again. Please cross-verify and come. My humble request to everyone, Please think and do research before you write anything on my Talk Page.
Yours faithfully,
TheProEditor11 TheProEditor11 (talk) 08:19, 6 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hello TheProEditor11, I completely understand what exactly you mean, but please note that such original research is simply against our policy; read WP:OR. The only proof you require (in order to add/modify statements in any of our articles) is reliable and verifiable sources, as per WP:RS & WP:V. And yes, as a new editor, you may not be aware of our policies, but I am sure you will learn from these experiences, and contribute here successfully! Thanks. Ekdalian (talk) 14:42, 6 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Dear Ekdalian,
I am a new Wikipedia editor but not a new Wikipedia reader and user. I started reading Wikipedia somewhere in 2020 and I am aware of most of the policies of Wikipedia but I was somehow both aware and unaware of this policy of Wikipedia that I have to add reliable sources for such edits. But the edit I did to both surname and family name Sinha is surely right. Please help me out because I am puzzled what can be a good reliable sources for this edit? Can I add someone's personal blog or another website because Wikipedia's policies say that we have to add sources from Google but blogs and other websites also come by searching on Google. I am sure that my edit is correct but I can't prove due to confusion. If you will tell me something(s) helpful about sources then it would be great. I would again request you gentleman that - only If you find my edits correct then please rollback it.
Thanks! TheProEditor11 (talk) 15:28, 9 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
No, you are not supposed to use blogs or other websites in caste related articles! We need high quality modern texts by reliable authors. I shall also try to find such sources for your edit. You may check Google books using proper search keywords. Thanks. Ekdalian (talk) 07:25, 10 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Ekdalian Thank You for Your Help. Do try to find sources for my edits too as you have more experience in editing than me. I will also try to check Google Books and then add a proper and reliable source on my edit. I apologize for any inconvenience caused by me and on the other hand, I am very grateful for your help.
Thanks! TheProEditor11 (talk) 07:54, 10 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Notice of discretionary sanctions on caste and related articles edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in South Asian social groups. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose contentious topics restrictions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Deletion discussion for Mac Taylor edit

Hi TheProEditor11. Following our discussion at the Teahouse. You want to make a contribution to a deletion discussion which is at the link: WP:Articles for deletion/Mac Taylor. The first thing to note is that this won't be a vote; it will be a place for editors to place their views in light of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The editor(s) with the best arguments for or against deletion will prevail when an experienced person (usually an admin) will decide what to do, based on the arguments made. As far as I can tell, the discussion will focus on whether Mac Taylor (a fictional character) is notable enough to have a stand-alone article, or information about him should instead solely reside in CSI: NY#Mac Taylor. The most relevant notability guideline is Wikipedia:Notability (fictional characters), which you should read carefully before you add your comment. If you want to add to the delete voices, you need not just to say that the currect article doesn't demonstrate notability from the sources it uses but also that you personally don't think that such sources exist to improve the article. If you want to argue to keep the article, you will either need to suggest further sources that together with the ones already in the article get it over the line to notability. Technically, to make your addition to the discussion you need to click on the "edit source" link just beside Mac Taylor's name and article link near the top of the deletion discussion. Then scroll to the very bottom and add your opinions, starting with either:

  • Keep (then your reasons for keeping)

or

  • Delete (then your reasons for deleting)

Note the use of three ' marks to create a bolded word to ensure it is easy for the person who closes the discussion to see your overall view. Make sure to sign your contribution with four ~ characters so it is will have your name and timestamp. Preview the page before save/publishing the changes, so you can check all looks OK before the save. If you have any doubts about what to do, then post them here and I'll help further. Good luck! October 2023 edit

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Chitragupta, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Ekdalian (talk) 19:17, 17 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Keep Reverting Sir 🙏🏻. Keep reverting without seeing the facts. I just wrote the fact. If a person is assigned the role of both Brahmin and Kshatriya (according to Hindu mythology), that person is called Brahmakshatriya. This is the fact that you reverted without seeing the reason. If you think that I made a mistake, Keep my edit reverted but if you think that I am correct, then please take time and undo your edit. Please reply if you want to make me something understand more because I am very new here as compared with you. Sorry for any inconvenience and Thank you for contacting through this talk page :). TheProEditor11 (talk) 12:51, 18 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
You need to cite reliable source for each and every statement here, hope you understand! Otherwise, even if you are right, someone will surely revert your edit since unsourced statements are considered here as original research (OR). I want you to contribute and that's the reason I explained! Thanks. Ekdalian (talk) 17:58, 18 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I will find sources for the statement but I still think that this is a fact so it is correct (If a person is assigned the role of both Brahmin and Kshatriya {according to Hindu mythology}, that person is called Brahmakshatriya). Thanks! TheProEditor11 (talk) 02:51, 19 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

I have sent you a note about a page you started edit

Hello, TheProEditor11. Thank you for your work on Kanak Bhawan. DreamRimmer, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

Please include some sources in the transport section. Also, it would be great to find some more reliable sources instead of just relying on the Ayodhya government website, since it's considered a primary source.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|DreamRimmer}}. Please remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

DreamRimmer (talk) 03:16, 8 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

@DreamRimmer: Thanks for letting me know! I tried hard to find but I could find only one reliable source for the transport section, which was the Ayodhya government website. I will surely try to find sources for it. Also, a Hindi article on Kanak Bhawan already exists. So, kindly add the page in languages section as I don't know how to do it! Thanks!
