Namadhari edit

Many communities in Srilanka Bali was a popular legend. Bandari community of Maharashtra were also used to consider bali as diety in their festivel. Also consider fact that Dweep in Sanskrit means Island. corresponding pali word is ila, which in Tamil is ilam, malayalam is izham and old kannada is ida. 122.166.13.197 (talk) 11:45, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Olden times Srilanka was also known Haledipa (in simhala). The people were called haledeevaru. They were warriors and expert in naval exercises. Many king from india emplyed them as Soldiers. Many costal indian kingdom had their naval service too. They bilieved to have racial similaries with Villavar of south india and closely related with Chera kingdom. 59.164.186.117 (talk) 10:39, 6 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

how do i consider your edits good faith when you have only edited articles related to namadhari.it very much signifies you aren't a neutral contributor.secondly if you look at population figures of three regions uttara kannada, tulu nadu and kerala.then the population figures and social status of communities as similar the most populous groups in north canara is namadhari in tulu nadu the billava and in kerala the ezhavas.all were invovled in toddy trade.have some sort of connection to sri lanka.secondly ahichatra origins of tulu brahmins, namboodiri, nair and bunts is supported by their deep reverance of serpents .the scythian practice of matilineality by bunts and nairs is another proof.to claim scythian origins by namadhari is a hoax neither there is a practice of matrinlineality or serpent worship or sharp caucasian feautures among namadhari.and again i remind u blogs are unverifiable and citations should be credible neutral.15:37, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

you consider krishna and arjuna as historical figures.there is dispute on it.any student of history knows that.secondly the scythians tribes did have serpent as their totem and practiced matriarchy.hence the naga scythian link, even jats in north india who are linked to the scythians are serpent worshippers and there are rajput clans too that practice serpent worship.notably the Bais Rajput. and another think quoting another wiki article as source is not accepted Linguisticgeek (talk) 15:43, 20 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sir,u acccept that your addition to nagavanshi status is wrong.hence i issued a warning.and not seeing a halepalika well i seen enough of them in karwar and gokarna as also the nadavara and havyakas.out of the three only the nadavara and havyakas show feautures that clearly are caucasian.another thing the term caucasian is a wide term it brings under it's gambit the aryans, scythians, mediterranean people.some even consider dravidians being caucasian though that is debatable.hence some namdharis or for that matter even the scheduled castes have slightly sharper feautures.but that doesn't make them aryan or scythian.secondly why clamour to a status of an invading tribe when nowadays the politics in karnataka is all about the bhumiputra.ok that poltical part was unwarranted but what i meant was that havyakas have seriously looked down upon the namadhari.they wouldn't have done so if they were an accompanying people.also the sri lankan origin is the most credible one.the sinhalese speak an aryan language and are considered a mixed race maybe thats the reason why a minuscle minority of billava, ezhavas and namadhari have sharp feautures and matrinlineality among the namadhari i don't think show me the citations.also serpent worships rituals of the bunts and nairs are not worshipping just stones they invovlve elaborate ritual dances the Nagaradhane and Sarpam Thullal.and by the way simple forms of serpent worship are practicsed by all hindus on naga panchami.what does that mean they are also nagavanshis.Linguisticgeek (talk) 16:18, 20 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

sir please i have no more time too indulge in this debate.u make another uncited addition it will be reverted not by me but the admins and a block follows.anyways your edit history shows a certain conflict of interest thank you.16:23, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

firstly the practice of sati is not there among bunts and nairs.they have always treated women with great respect.infact women from these communities even ruled.second the havyakas treat halepaikas as very inferior people(i don't think scythians or people who accompanyed them from ahichatra would be treated such).also nadavara of north canara are not bunts.the nadavara and havyaka are the only land owning castes of north canara.and nadavara do have causcoid feautures.i think you have serious bias against nadavara.perhaps their history of mistreating halepaikas is the reason.about matrilineality well even billava and ezhava practice it.it is considered they adopted theses practice from the upper castes.whereas the quote you showed me is only about balis.it does not prove that namadhari adhere to matrilineal inheritance, which is passing of property from maternal uncle to nephew which happens among nairs and bunts and even among payyanur nambudiri brahmins.that is matrinlieality not balis.also your assertion that all communities were matrilineal before is wrong.and then you also agree that sarpam thullal and nagaradhane are real nagavanshi practices which are practiced by bunts and nairs.and there is no such practice among halepaikas.also i have not lost out of ammunition.you using such words show all you are interested in pushing your pov in articles.anyways you have already accepted that your addition to nagavanshi and indo-scythian status was wrong do i need to say more.Linguisticgeek (talk) 05:09, 21 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your peer review request edit

Thank you Tej. I will look in to it when I find time. But by looking at the discussion above I thought I have no familiarity with Namadharis or Halepaikas but if they are same as Deeva or Idiga, I know quite a bit about the community since we lived and worked with them closely. I know a little about Bunts too. ~rAGU (talk)

now since you like to get personal getting a government job on reservations and showing it off on your page does not make you knowlegeable either.you intent is very much clear in pushing pov.do you think anyone excepts your crap.peer review well the article is so factually incorrect that it will not even get start class status.Linguisticgeek (talk) 14:59, 22 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

good joke like that.for matters your paltry earnings given by government of india maybe 30000 won't even get you an entry at places i have lunch in.maybe you should go to the sixth pay commission and ask for a raise.second i am not and obc hater.just have no respect for people like u who want to show a glorious past and then beg for reservation calling themselves oppressed.and anyways i think some of your bosses in the ias and ifs are nairs.jealous of them eh ? maybe thats the reason you want pass youself as a nair in front of north indians. u wrote on my page all northies call south indian tamils or darkies.haha talk abt stereotryping.they have never called me one.bcoz i am a true scythian not a wannabe like you.maybe i have a superiority complex but then it's always better than to be a wannabe like you.now buzz off and stop writing on my talk page i won't reply got to do some serious editing not indulge in pov pushing.and clearly observe your observe your face in the mirror tommorrow, the truth will dawn that you are not a scythian.do you know how a scythian looks like see Shashi Tharoor or Aishwarya Rai and then compare it to your face.bye and happy living a life as a boring b grade civil servant :-)Linguisticgeek (talk) 15:23, 22 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Talk:Rutland Barrington and John Faithfull Fleet edit

Hi. Please see Talk:Rutland Barrington. If you wish to add new information to the Rutland Barrington article, you need to add a bibliographic citation to a WP:Reliable source. Thanks! -- Ssilvers (talk) 16:58, 16 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thanks for the message. I appreciate that you have worked hard on the new article, but the referencing is so sparse that it makes the article seem suspicious. In each paragraph of the article (except the lead section) you need to cite the exact page number and publication where you got the information. Also, you should not use the boldface. It makes the article lack maturity and encyclopedic tone. I hope you will find more sources and cite them throughout the article so that it will be adequately referenced. Best regards, -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:36, 16 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the message. If the material is from the two sources, then they are not "external links", they are "references". I'll make the change for you. But, most important, you need to add page numbers for each paragraph showing which pages of the references you are referring to. I revised the lead section to give you an example of a more encyclopedic tone. Also, any information that you have in the lead section should be repeated somewhere below, in more detail, in the body of the article. The lead should just be an overview and summary of the article below. -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:51, 16 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

We are making progress. I'll see if I can help. I am removing the reference to Roystons, Chiswick. There is some mistake there. Look up Royston and see if you can figure out which place is meant. By the way, I do not think it is important where, exactly his father was born. It is clear that he was born in England and was a London merchant, which is a useful fact. -- Ssilvers (talk) 18:02, 16 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi. What source are you using to verify that Fleet was related to Barrington? -- Ssilvers (talk) 18:49, 16 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Paik Rebellion edit

A tag has been placed on Paik Rebellion requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Wikipedians from Karnataka edit

Hi, I'm trying to put together a list of Wikipedians from Karnataka. I'm also trying to gather together the contacts. The idea is to build a network of Wiki enthusiasts, contributors from the region that could help sync off-line Wiki activity, bring together people who can work together in effectively reaching out to the public in the region on using Wikipedia and related open content projects. Can you help by sending your contact and also by referring editors from Karnataka you've come across on Wikipedia? Thank you, --H P Nadig \Talk \Contributions 19:37, 25 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Namadhari edit

Hi. I'd like to help you, but I don't know anything about the subject. I can tell you that you did not rename the article correctly. By cutting and pasting, you created a problem in finding the history of the article and its talk page, so please don't do that. I suggest that you open a discussion on the article's talk page, and/or correspond with User:Linguisticgeek, since you and he may be able to come up with a solution together that everyone likes. Perhaps User:JaGa, who is an experienced editor, or User:Hut 8.5, an experienced editor and administrator, can help you two reach a solution, if you cannot find common ground. Also, this project is within the scope of Wikipedia:WikiProject India. The purpose of the Wikiprojects is to help editors interested in a field, in this case India, collaborate on articles. Why not go over to the talk page there and try to interest other editors in reviewing and working on the article. The more editors you get involved, the better the chance for a long-lasting WP:CONSENSUS.

Here is some general advice:

  • Please be very careful with your capitalization, punctuation and spelling. Write in complete sentences, and do not abbreviate words. Neatness counts on Wikipedia! Sloppy edits make other editors doubt that your edit has merit. Even talk page messages should be written out in standard English; not like a text message.
  • Please read WP:CITE. If you improve your citation format, other editors will respect your edits more.
  • Use article talk pages to try to form a WP:CONSENSUS among editors about changes to a page. Sometimes if you negotiate them before hand on the talk page, then you will not encounter any resistance when you move them to the articles.
  • Better not to try to move or rename articles where there is any kind of controversy about it. Get a strong WP:CONSENSUS before doing any such moves or renames, and when you have clear support for what you wish to do, make sure you follow the instructions to do the move correctly (or ask an admin for help).
  • See WP:Article development. This is a great guideline.

I hope this helps. All the best! -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:40, 1 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
