To Pimp a Butterfly edit

An editor made this edit with a source, should it stay that way since the source says: This bizarre and supposedly "challenging" album was universally acclaimed and, apparently, unimpeachable. What do you think of it? TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 16:39, 7 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Pieces of Man edit

What do you suggest I do when I find a dead link? What do you suggest in the case of Pieces of Man? I'm trying to whittle down the Cleanup Listing for Wikiproject Jazz which has over 5500 articles in need of repair, 21% marked for cleanup. I find the widespread resistance to change quite staggering.

Your GA nomination of Christgau's Record Guide: The '80s edit

Bad News edit

I swapped in the 808 album credits myself. The user relies on internet sample lists: namely WhoSampled (fails WP:RSMUSIC due to being user-submitted) and this [1] that they keep bring back.

"West explained the inspiration behind it when performing at the 2015 Hollywood Bowl by asking the crowd: "You ever hear some really, really bad news, and it hits you like a gunshot?"

This is unsupported by the source provided. I'm assuming it was derived from the concluding paragraph: But watching the record performed live in 2015, it’s remarkable to see just how safe this massive creative risk turned out to be. After all, doesn’t fame kill everyone a little bit? “You ever hear some really, really bad news, and it hits you like a gunshot?” West asked the crowd during “Bad News,” before the jarring sound of a gun cocking and firing sent him sprawling to the ground. He lay still, until he got back up.

As I said on the user's talk page while many of the many articles they've create should be deleted, namely Gossip Files, others can be redirected to the main album pages. Don't understand why the user refrains from simply incorporating what relevant, verifiable information they come across onto the main albums articles. I just don't get the persistence to dedicate a page for each one. I honestly simply wanted to pass this on to someone else as their's only so much I'm able to edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.26.97.61 (talk) 21:57, 28 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Content dispute at Flower Boy edit

There is a minor content dispute over this edit in the article, and I wonder that should be in small letters? TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 00:14, 4 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

I would be faithful to the source and only capitalize "Black". Dan56 (talk) 05:41, 4 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Okay, but should it be linked? TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 01:08, 4 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
I would keep it linked, but it's just my preference; I don't know how WP:LINK can be argued for or against it, as it feels like a grey area: the rapper seems to be expressing it as a phrase rather than referring to the activist movement. Since the linking has been disputed by another editor, I would recommend starting a request for comment at the article talk page, or just discussing this further with the other editor if they seem communicative. Tyler albums edit

I see you've promoted quite a few GAs. I've been trying to get Tyler, the Creator's album articles up to GA. I've made most additions to Flower Boy and Cherry Bomb and I think FB is closest. Most work needs to be done to Goblin and Wolf. Would you mind checking them to see what needs to be added? Aitch & Aitch Aitch (talk) 17:32, 10 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

They seem fairly good. Perhaps sections on the album's creation and a discussion of the music would make them more complete. This would depend on the scope of coverage available on the topic, which I'm not familiar with, but with Internet-age albums that information tends to be easier to come by, so I believe it will be out there. See MOS:ALBUM#Article body and Wikipedia:Good article criteria for a better idea. Dan56 (talk) 21:27, 10 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Can you take a look at the music and lyrics sections of Goblin and Wolf, the editor that talk to you added content in the article but I don't know it's sourced properly. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 06:14, 16 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
I see citation-needed tags, so I am assuming those parts are unsourced. The ones accompanied with citations seem to check out. Dan56 (talk) 12:01, 16 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
But what about this source? The source didn't say anything about the tracks "Window" and "AU79" whatsoever. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 08:07, 16 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Then remove the content, and explain why in the edit summary. Dan56 (talk) 13:09, 16 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

"Love it to Death" & "post-psychedelia" edit

I was surprised to see you cite this as justification for adding "post-psychedlia" to the Love it to Death infobox, particularly as none of the hits describe the album that way, and many of them makes comments along the lines of "shake off their post-psychedelic traits", etc.—while others use "post-psychedlia" not as a genre lable, but as a general descriptor of the era that followed the psychedelic era (again, none of them in the context of the album). I thought you'd been around long enough and were careful enough an editor to know better. Curly "JFC" Turkey 🍁 ¡gobble! 23:28, 17 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Fôrça Bruta edit

Hi Piotr, I apologize for my lack of response on the Fôrça Bruta FAC. I was traveling for the last several days. Is there any follow-up needed from me? I didn't mean for my archiving to disrupt you too greatly—it just felt like some more work was going to happen on the article and I'd rather you do it outside of FAC and then renominate when it's ready, rather than having it languish at the bottom of the list. --Laser brain (talk) 14:29, 6 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Laser brain:, BLZ left what minimal suggestions for improvements he had left to conclude his review, at the article talk page, where he also left a support, which he said he would have regardless; I followed through with the suggestions though. An exemption from the two-week wait was mentioned by me and supported by BLZ at another discussion. Would it be possible for me to renominate it now? The article is ready, and BLZ has even tried to promote extra attention for more activity at a new nomination. Dan56 (talk) 14:45, 6 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that's fine! Also, feel free to ping previous supporters and prompt them to revisit the new nomination. --Laser brain (talk) 14:53, 6 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Take part in a survey edit

Hi Dan56

We're working to measure the value of Wikipedia in economic terms. We want to ask you some questions about how you value being able to edit Wikipedia.

Our survey should take about 10-15 minutes of your time. We hope that you will enjoy it and find the questions interesting. All answers will be kept strictly confidential and will be anonymized before the aggregate results are published. Regretfully, we can only accept responses from people who live in the US due to restrictions in our grant-based funding.

As a reward for your participation, we will randomly pick 1 out of every 5 participants and give them $25 worth of goods of their choice from the Wikipedia store (e.g. Wikipedia themed t-shirts). Note that we can only reward you if you are based in the US.

Click here to access the survey: https://mit.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eXJcEhLKioNHuJv
