Disambiguation link notification edit

Hi, this message is to let you know about disambiguation links you've recently created. A link to a disambiguation page is almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. For more information, see the FAQ or drop a line at the DPL WikiProject.

Bengaluru International Airport edit

Hi, this is to let you know that I have removed the wikify tag you placed on Bengaluru International Airport. This is because the article was sufficiently wikified, if not entirely, not enough to merit the big yellow tag on the top at least. Nevertheless, Welcome to Wikipedia! Hope you have a good time here.   Hi Tanzeelahad. Thank you for your work on patrolling new pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I'm just letting you know that I declined your deletion request for Dhalo, a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. Please take a moment to look at the suggested tasks for patrollers and review the criteria for speedy deletion. Particularly, the section covering non-criteria. Articles for deletion edit

What is your rationale for nominating Microbridge for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Microbridge? Without some form of statement, no sensible discussion can be initiated. Catfish Jim and the soapdish 13:32, 25 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

You have also listed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caf%C3%A9_Mambo for deletion without any research into the subject, which so happens to be one of the most famous bars in europe. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.42.121.88 (talk) 20:11, 25 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please Stop! edit

You tagged the article School of electronics engineering with multiple CSD criteria, including: A1 (insufficient context), when it was clear what the article was about; G11 (promotional) when it was not promotional; G12 (copyright infringement) as infringement of another Wikipedia page (!); and R2 (redirect from main space to another namespace) when it was an article.

None of these CSD criteria were correctly applied.

It is clear that you do not understand the Wikipedia policy on speedy deletions. Please read Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion and refrain from tagging any more pages until you fully understand it. If you continue to nominate pages for speedy deletion with invalid rationales, you may be blocked from editing. The article B.L.D.E.A's V.P. Dr. P.G. Halakatti College of Engineering and Technology has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article lacks sufficient Attribution for Verifiability of the WP:CORP notability criteria

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — 72.75.56.190 (talk) 16:20, 25 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Again, please stop. You tagged, for example, Jakob-Wassermann-Literaturpreis with multiple CSD tags, including A1 (insufficient context to identify subject), A3 (no content) and G1 (patent nonsense). The article contained the following text:

Jakob-Wassermann-Literaturpreis is a Bavarian literary prize.

Each of your tags were incorrectly applied. Your edits are creating work for others and are disruptive. If you continue to apply CSD tags incorrectly, you will be blocked from editing. Catfish Jim and the soapdish 21:54, 25 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Stefan D'Silva edit

(1) The in line citations suggest that the topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject and under the Wikipedia rules in my opinion fulfills the inclusion criteria for a stand-alone article.

(2) The references do address the subject directly in detail (ie Newspapers appear to have sent a reporter to interview the subject and do not merely rehash a press release from a company), and no original research was needed to extract the content.

(3) The coverage in my opinion was significant (more than a trivial mention) and WAS (although it need not be the main topic of the source material to stisfy Wiki criteria)

(4)It satisfies the criterion for reliability as the newspapers editors should be assumed to the editorial integrity to allow verifiable evaluation of notability by the newspaper at least in Sri Lanka where it made the National daily broadsheets.

(5)The sources in the list of inline citations are in the majority secondary sources providing presumed objective evidence of notability. The depth of coverage and quality of the sources and their multiplicity and not being from the same author or organization should strengthen the case for the purposes of establishing notability.

(6) All but one of the inline citations are Independent of the subject but one is a personal web site and can be considered under the category of "self-publicity, advertising, self-published material by the subject, the subject's website, autobiographies, and press releases".

What may be a subject of debate is importance but in my opinion I believe that the wiki criteria for notability have been met

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. This is about speedy deletion tags. By my count, you have tagged 54 articles for speedy deletion, and 24 have been deleted. Some of the 30 that remained were obviously inappropriately tagged. This has been mention to you before, and it verging on becoming disruptive. Before you consider another speedy deletion tag, please ensure it follows Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion. Recent changes edit

Hi, thanks for your interest in recent changes, but please re-read the speedy deletion criteria: Persian Gulf complex was definitely not G1. Basically, G1 only applies for stuff where it looks like the editor has simply mashed the keyboard with his hand. I see that you have been asked several times to review your application of deletion tags, and I strongly recommend that you do this, because I do not wish to see a good faith contributor get blocked. Thanks! WilliamH (talk) 13:11, 6 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please stop tagging articles for speedy deletion. I have had to decline a further three csd nominations made by you, including a high school tagged with A7 (schools are not subject to this category) and a classical pianist with a discography of more than 50 albums tagged as A7. Raichur edit

Hi Tanzeelahad. First, I'd like to thank you for contributing good images to Wikipedia, especially now that you removed the watermarks. I'm sure many of them will improve the relevant articles. Regarding adding the images to articles, and specifically to Raichur, I would like to point you to the Wikipedia guideline about images. The purpose of images is to illustrate the material discussed in prose, and thus help inform the reader. Images need to be significantly and directly related to the subjects. Adding a very similar image to one that already exists, wide or not, does not serve that purpose. Adding an image of a monument on a hill top, neither of which are discussed in the article, does not serve this purpose. Images are not there to decorate. I hope you are not offended, but that's how we use images in Wikipedia. I added a box linking to the category on the commons where all Raichur images can be found for interested readers. --Muhandes (talk) 12:33, 17 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject India Tag & Assess 2012 Contest edit

Hello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.

As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, a Tag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.

If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.

You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you have been adding your signature to some of your edits to articles, such as the edit you made to Raichur. This is a common mistake to make and has probably already been corrected. There is no need to sign your edits to article content, as the article's edit history serves the function of attributing contributions, so you only need to use your signature to make discussions more readable, such as on article talk pages or project pages such as the Village Pump. If you would like further information about distinguishing types of pages, please see What is an article?. Again, thank you for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you.  Abhishek  Talk 08:19, 27 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 03:05, 21 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

New deal for page patrollers edit

Hi Tanzeelahad,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
