Queens is the Future

I have a few questions about your review of my page (I'm new to Wikipedia so forgive me):

Is it ok to cite YouTube for sentences where the video itself is the subject of the claim (eg "the mural appears heavily in the documentary")?

Is it ok to cite the YouTube video that is an interview with the artists themselves for sentences about the artists' intentions?

Thank you for your help!

Kfon83 (talk) 18:46, 27 March 2020 (UTC)

Kfon83, So ideally YouTube is avoided whenever possible. There are certain instances when it makes sense. A good example might be an article about a song and someone points out that a music video was created for it citing the artist's YouTube video for the music video. However, what you are trying to use it for is a bit troubling. For example, stating "the mural appears heavily in the documentary" is a subjective opinion derived from a video. What exactly is heavily? Was it appearing in a routine manner or in coverage of it? Etc. All those would require subjective conclusions.
The other problem with YouTube is verifiability and reliability. Just because something is said in YouTube video, even a well made documentary does not mean it is in fact true. Anyone can say anything in a YouTube video since there typically is no editorial oversight. It can be used to cite something a subject says about themselves, but that wouldn't work towards proving notability.
Hope that makes sense and isn't too convoluted. Let me know if you have further questions. Sulfurboy (talk) 05:41, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Sulfurboy, following up:

What about when the stated thing is a verifiable fact one can see with one's eyes? They are not talking about the mural, it's a visible landmark in the video. Something like "the mural appears heavily" is stated as such because, when you watch the video, you can see the mural in the background of most of the shots. Would a simple restatement of this be acceptable? Such as "the mural can be seen in the documentary for..."?

And if a YouTube video is cited by other media outlets with editorial oversight, does that legitimize the source? For example, the NY Times mentions the documentary video here: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/23/us/politics/justice-democrats-ocasio-cortez.html.

And the other YouTube video is the artists talking about their first-hand experience of making the mural. It is not reportage but first-hand recounting from the source. Does this help to clear things up with that link? What is required if not? Kfon83 (talk) 13:56, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

Kfon83, To you first question, again it is an opinion that is derived from watching the documentary, it doesn't matter how obvious or correct it is.
No, a source mentioning a documentary that has editorial oversight doesn't mean that the documentary itself has editorial oversiht.
That's okay, but discouraged. Also, an interview such as that does not help to denote notability of the subject Sulfurboy (talk) 14:02, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi, in your cleanup you didn't spot the misplaced stub tag at the top of the article (you added one in right place at bottom). I've fixed it, just mentioning as yet another thing to look out for in careless drafts. Happy editing! PamD 14:22, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

Nemanja Jovanovic article review

Hi Sulfurbuy, I'm writing about your denial of this draft https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Nemanja_Jovanovic_(basketball) I have edited Wikipedia:NBASKETBALL to include coaches from First Serbian League where Nemanja worked as part of KK Crvena zvezda, so this should be sufficient now. In External resources, there is a link to a source https://basketball.usbasket.com/coach/Nemanja_Jovanovic/USA/Southern-Methodist-University/23735 where coaching careers can be checked. Also, I have stated many different sources throughout the article which should be enough for at least Wikipedia:GNG Moreover I have official confirmation letter from KK Crvena zvezda where everything from the article is stated and confirmed with the seal and signature. The only thing is I don't know how to use this kind of proof here in wikipedia. Any thoughts on how to take this further?

Thanks in advance, Marko

Markomarkovic1980 (talk) 22:16, 27 March 2020 (UTC)

@Markomarkovic1980: I have reverted your edit at WP:NSPORTS as it is a Notability Guideline. In order to change Wikipedia guidelines, you must first garner a general consensus from other editors. Changing acceptance guidelines in order to make a subject meet a guideline is unacceptable. If repeated, it could be viewed as disruptive editing, so I highly advise against it. Thank you, Yosemiter (talk) 00:12, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
That is the first time that I have heard of editing a Special Notability Guideline in order to get an article into article space. It might or might not be the last time. Don't stuff that variety of bean in the ears of your puppy. Robert McClenon (talk) 05:05, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
Robert McClenon, You sort of have to admire the temerity. I'm not even mad, that's amazing. Sulfurboy (talk) 05:35, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
Right. The music editor is trying to play by the rules and just wants the rules to allow their songs to have articles. Enthusiasm. This sports editor was tweaking the rule, until they were told not to do that. There is no rule that says not to change the rules. That is like telling the boy not to feed beans to the ducks. At least, we hadn't thought that we needed a rule not to change the rules to get your person an article. Robert McClenon (talk) 06:00, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
It happens more often than you would think with sports. I think my favorite was some kid tried to add a local event where he won so that he would not have his own page deleted. Yosemiter (talk) 17:31, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
Have either of you guys actually read what I have changed in WP:NSPORTS? Your are commenting my draft article and not the notability change. Just to point you in the right direction, I have added Basketball League of Serbia along side other notable leagues. Among notable leagues are Australian and Israeli basketball leagues which in no way can compare to Serbian baskteball league. To support this fact you can check Serbia national basketball team medals and compare them to thesse two "notable leagues". Also, for comparing are NBA players that come from these countries and NBA hall of fame members. So, to summirize I have changed notability criterion by adding stronger notability league then those existing, therefore improving the WP:NSPORTS. If you disagree with adding Serbian league to the notability cretirea then you should edit WP:NSPORTS in a way of removing at least those 2 notable leagues (Australian and Israeli) to make them more notable. Please guys, focus on the subject, let's discuss the WP:NSPORTS and when we settle this let's then continue the talk about the drafted article of mine — Preceding unsigned comment added by Markomarkovic1980 (talkcontribs)
@Markomarkovic1980: It is not about whether the the Serbian league should or should not be there. It is that you do not have the power (nor does any one else) to unilaterally change any guidelines on Wikipedia. This must be done via WP:CONSENSUS. In order to change or add it to the guideline, you need to make a proposal to the community, as was done at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Basketball/Archive_10#Revised_WP:NHOOPS_guideline and Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Basketball/Archive_10#Recent_WP:NHOOPS_changes. But please note, having better players than another league has very little to do with Wikipedia:Notability, and has entirely to do with the independent media coverage of the league. In my observations, both Australia and Israel cover their sports leagues very well, but I don't know enough about Serbian media coverage of their sports leagues to say they are equivalent or better. If you go forward with your proposal of adding, please be prepared to defend how a player who has made a single appearance in a Serbian League game meets WP:GNG (that is why the French league is not on there, and they too have won medals as a national team). Yosemiter (talk) 18:52, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
Yosemiter Thank you for this answer it makes things much clearer for me. I will have no problem defending adding Serbian league to WP:NSPORTS. Althou, I really hope that media coverage is not the only critera but the success of players and coaches and actual quality of the league. Of course it will be on community to decide. Thank you, again Markomarkovic1980 (talk) 20:54, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
Markomarkovic1980, WP:SIGCOV is the requirement of ALL Wikipedia subjects. The success of players and coaches and the "quality of the league" has little to no bearing on notability. Sulfurboy (talk) 20:57, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
Yosemiter What about the written sources, how are they presented to wikipedia reviewers? Markomarkovic1980 (talk) 09:52, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
Markomarkovic1980, You need to clarify your question as I am not sure what it is you're trying to ask Sulfurboy (talk) 12:19, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
Sulfurboy This is not related to this topic, I'm asking in general how written sources are being dealt with on Wikipedia? For example, article is written about someone and I want to present it as an evidence of someone's notability, how would I show this article that is in printed press? Markomarkovic1980 (talk) 15:09, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
Markomarkovic1980 I would start with going to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Basketball and make the proposal (per WP:PROPOSAL). You will need to provide evidence that someone who has made just one appearance in one game meets the General Notability Guideline. You need independent media coverage with significant depth from multiple sources. If you want an easier path, maybe try to get the league added to NHOOPS#3 by showing the award winners meet GNG. Yosemiter (talk) 13:36, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
Markomarkovic1980, As should be obvious by now, you cannot just adjust notability standards to fit your needs. Unfortunately, it does not look like the subject is notable at this time. Sulfurboy (talk) 05:35, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Draft: Joe Seddon

Hello Sulfurboy, I just wondered whether you could give me some more feedback on the article I submitted. I feel it is written in a neutral tone and well sourced across a number of reputable news publications so I was wondering how you think the article be made more impartial? The subject matter of the article has been covered in the mainstream press for his work in the social impact sphere so much of the article inevitably concentrates on those areas. I don't think this makes the article partial in any way given the objective tone in which it is covered. But let me know if you think otherwise! Doogierev (talk) 23:59, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia

Hi, thanks for the feedback on my attempt to create a page for my organisation. The aim is to just give an overview of the Foreign Ministry's soft approach to counter-terrorism in the country. However, my first draft was seen as resembling an advertisement. I removed the "fancy" adjectives to make it seem less like self promotion but I am not quite sure what you may think.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Searcct2003/sandbox/Southeast_Asia_Regional_Centre_for_Counter-Terrorism_(SEARCCT),_Ministry_of_Foreign_Affairs,_Malaysia

In addition, my agency's website is under construction so you may have some trouble going through it for referencing purposes.

I referred to the HQ (the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia) Wikipedia page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ministry_of_Foreign_Affairs_(Malaysia) It's quite straightforward and I feel, similar to the page I am trying to put up. It does not reference other than its website as well. I am not quite sure how Wikipedia would prefer referencing (I went through the guidelines) should the source be the organisation itself.

Appreciate your help.

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Searcct2003 (talkcontribs) 01:55, 31 March 2020 (UTC)

Searcct2003, I didn't create, approve or in anyway edit that other page, so I'm not sure why you are bringing it up. We are concerned with the page you are creating. Also concerning is your disclosure that you work for this organization. If this is the case then you need to properly disclose as a paid editor. I have posted details on your talk page Sulfurboy (talk) 02:00, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
But to further answer your question, we need to see the subject covered in a formal, neutral light; not how you or your organization perceive yourselves. This is best done by issuing secondary, reliable sources. Sulfurboy (talk) 02:02, 31 March 2020 (UTC)

Hello. My submission was declined with the reason "The content of this submission includes material that does not meet Wikipedia's minimum standard for inline citations." This doesn't tell me much about which material causes problems and I'm not sure how to fix the situation, as I have put references in my document. Am I missing details in the review that I didn't see aside from that generic message? Thanks. --Isaucier (talk) 03:22, 31 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi, I found this article that someone created and got moved to drafts. I have cleaned up this article, but unsure how to submit it for review, I thought there should be a button, but there isn't one. Is that because I am not the creator of the article? You've reviewed one of my own drafts before, hence I'm turning to you. Wolfmartyn (talk) 14:16, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

Wolfmartyn, Looks like it is already submitted for review and is in our queue awaiting review. Sulfurboy (talk) 14:21, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
Okay, that would make sense. I could not see who has originally placed the article into drafts, can you? Are you in position to review this article? Wolfmartyn (talk) 14:54, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

Change of fortune article

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:The_contradiction_of_Poetics_chapters_13_and_14 Hi, a number of changes were made to this article that another editor asked for. Your opinion could be different. When you say it reads nothing like a Wikipedia article, I wonder if you're referring to the fact that (1) the content doesn't appear to you to come from a third-party source; or (2) it looks like an obscure scholarly topic that isn't notable, or may not be talked about in academic journals often enough. It has not been talked about in the media.

I look forward to knowing if your declining is due to the tone, structure, appearance of original research, lack of notability, or all of the above. What makes it not original research is that it is a historical narrative that has been accounted for fully by another writer, named Arata Takeda. The things that Takeda doesn't mention could be removed. I don't know if that helps, though. If most Wikipedia editors find this idea not notable enough, at this point I have no problem dropping the idea. Thanks.Cdg1072 (talk) 22:22, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

My draft for the Georgia Farmers and Consumers Market Bulletin was rejected for publication. After reading the explanation, I am still unclear why. If a trade publication like Metal Bulletin is approved (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_Bulletin) what is the reasoning behind declining the Ga. Market Bulletin? It has a current Web page, published by a government entity, has an IBSN number, and references in media like the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Did I not provide enough references? https://www.georgiaencyclopedia.org/articles/business-economy/j-j-brown-1865-1953

"The Market Bulletin was created as a free weekly periodical to advertise farm products for Georgia farmers. By 1923 the Market Bulletin enjoyed a weekly circulation of 100,000. When Brown left office in 1927, the periodical had the largest circulation in the country for a publication of its kind. The bulletin, known formally as The Farmers and Consumers Market Bulletin, remains in print as of 2006."

https://www.georgiaencyclopedia.org/articles/government-politics/eugene-talmadge-1884-1946

"Talmadge was overwhelmingly reelected in 1928 and 1930. He used the department's newspaper, the Market Bulletin, to give advice to farmers on how to improve their farming skills and operations. But more important, Talmadge used the Bulletin to express his views on political issues and to present himself as an outspoken advocate for the farmers. He extolled the virtues of a laissez-faire economic policy and individual action to improve the well-being of farmers."

References in other languages is fine. You can find more information about reliable sources at WP:RSSulfurboy (talk) 22:44, 20 March 2020 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alefer72 (talkcontribs)

Alefer72, It wouldn't much make sense for me to judge sources in a language that I don't speak, you'll have to wait for another fluent reviewer to look at it. Sulfurboy (talk) 08:38, 4 April 2020 (UTC)

Taxonomy template?

You put a cleanup tag on Yaquinacetus that "taxonomy template needs to be fixed" but I'm not sure what is wrong with it. Could you be more specific and leave details on the talk page? Thank you. RJFJR (talk) 22:19, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

RJFJR, Hmm, it either got corrected in the accept cleanup or I mistagged it from seeing it on a couple others. Either way if you see a misplaced tag like that, always just feel free to remove it. Sulfurboy (talk) 08:38, 4 April 2020 (UTC)
Thank you. I wasn't sure if it might be some sort of data error. RJFJR (talk) 09:48, 4 April 2020 (UTC)

Rejected page

My page has now been rejected. I was just thinking that because he is not notable enough yet why can’t it be a redirected page to the radio stations he works at e.g. Capital so when you search for him you get redirected to that. I have seen this before for example on the page The X Factor UK there is a small section about the former spin off show The Xtra Factor which only has a few lines so when you search for it you get taken to the main page. Beyond Better Foods Article - switch name?

Hi Sulfur Boy!

Appreciate the feedback about the Beyond Better Foods article. I wasn't sure whether to put an an article about the product, or the company which mentions the product, since they're always mentioned together. Would it make sense, and address this, to switch this title or article to be Enlightened ice cream itself? That feels like an advertisement, no?

The main thing is this definitely FEELS like it should be here since its clear its reach, impact, and distribution is so sizable. The product is available all over the country and has been reviewed and covered by many (these were just a handful) outlets and individuals. Nearly of those outlets are completely independent of the company - women's health, Nosh, Redbook, Popsugar, Today.com....these were just a few (I figured at some point it merited stopping). All of these are staking their claim with editorial integrity to their readers - giving opinions on a product, often what companies like Women's Health is known for. This much coverage certainly establishes some kind of notability, no?

What would you suggest? doing? Let me know if switching this to just Enlightened, and mentioned that its made by Beyond Better Foods) make more sense, or if you have an alternative suggestion.

Thanks! Articlegooroo (talk) 03:58, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

Hi Sulfurboy!

Saw that you rejected the last go around and resubmission after multiple articles were put in there and reference illustrating significant coverage from third party sources of both beyond better foods and its products. This company, it’s founder and it’s products have been covered by nearly every media outlet - starting with the New York Times, women’s health, GQ, women’s fitness, Forbes, and industry mags like dairy reporter and food and beverage. What more is needed?

I’m sorry, I’m just a bit frustrated here as I’m looking at other articles that have been published in similar categories with far less sources and notoriety, so am confused. Caspers, Dreyers, Halo Top, Talenti, Pepperidge Farm, among MANY others. What am I missing?

Thanks! Articlegooroo (talk) 18:37, 5 April 2020 (UTC)

Catmonk (talk) 22:28, 5 April 2020 (UTC) Review of Candid (band) article - some points that may be of note

Catmonk (talk) 22:28, 5 April 2020 (UTC) Hello Sulfurboy, thank you for looking at the article I have been writing on the English band Candid - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Candid_(band) Please correct me if I am wrong but I think that the main issue with the article is the question of notability. I am hoping that the subject of the article (the band Candid) is notable as Candid meet a number of the notability Criteria for musicians and ensembles that are listed here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(music) The criteria in question are 10 (Candid's music has featured the TV show "Made In Chelsea"), 12 (Candid are currently Band of the month on BBC Introducing and have had song of the week on BBC also) and 6 (Candid came first place in the "Godiva Calling" music competition). There is also an argument that could be made for 7 (most representative indie band in Coventry having sold out a 900 capacity venue). As for criterion 1 (has been the subject of mulitiple publications) - the band have been reviewed by many online magazines but also profiled in the Coventry Telegraph newspaper and its online version the Coventry Observer. I have only just included the article - https://coventryobserver.co.uk/news/music-matters-by-pete-chambers-bem-want-to-be-in-a-music-video/ and I wonder will it make a difference. I would be grateful if you could tell me whether or not my article would have more success if Candid successfully meet the criteria above. If it would, might you please be able to advise me on what I can do in order to prove that they meet these criteria? Many thanks - Catmonk

Those criteria (many of which you misinterpreted) are just an indication of when a band MIGHT be notable. The truth is none of the sources you provided show indepth coverage to pass the WP:GNG standard. Further, you have a heavy reliance on a lot of unreliable sources. I would recommend reviewing WP:RS Sulfurboy (talk) 22:39, 5 April 2020 (UTC)

Authentic , Genuine and verifiable References

Dear SulfurBoy,

i have carefully studied the article you refered to me https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Referencing_for_beginners . I started writing article after carefully studying all the relevant articles.

My Article Draft is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Lahore_Motorway_City

My article consists of one tiny line "Lahore Motorway City is a housing estate project" . i gave 16 references which are currently available online . All these references are verifiable from the sources.

This is so strange that you think that 16 Authentic , Genuine and verifiable References only for one line article are not reliable for you . — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shahnawaz rules (talkcontribs) 12:07, 4 April 2020 (UTC)

Shahnawaz rules, Yeah you clearly haven't read the applicable policies if you think all 16 of those are authentic, genuine and verifiable. You're also missing the most key element which is that those sources show significant, non-routine coverage. Sulfurboy (talk) 22:40, 5 April 2020 (UTC)

Question regarding my draft that is waiting review

Hello! I have been creating a few articles now since you reviewed mine so I don't really use the draft-way of writing articles that much anymore. I was though uncertain if the topic I was writing about existed already in the main space, so I decided to make a draft instead, you can find it here. Wanted to write to you directly since I am very sure that it will go through, but just wanted an administrator's clarification that there wasn't an article already for the band in question. Would you like to look at it? I'm sorry if it isn't okay to ask about looking at the draft but as I've mentioned, I'm pretty sure that the article will go through. Have a nice day! Questions to create articles directly

Hi, My question is that as per Wikipedia rules, I have also edited articles more than 10 times. And my account is also four days old. And there are two articles made by me. But I have not yet received permission to create a direct article. Why so? While it is written on Help:Your first article page that you can create direct articles by completing these rules. Please explain in detail. Mr Tejal (talk) 10:57, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Mr Tejal, I don't know and I'm probably the wrong person to ask. I would ask at WP:TEA Sulfurboy (talk) 11:05, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Copula article declined

Hello, My article was declined by a senior editor :@Sulfurboy:. The comments provided were "What is going to be most helpful here is providing a lead that introduces the subject to the uninitiated reader. That is, imagine you are trying to explain this concept as simply as possible to someone that doesn't know about this subject, how would you do so? Once that is done we can properly assess the notability of the subject." This comment makes perfect sense, however, the concept is already define in another article on Wikipedia at URL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copula_(probability_theory). Does it mean that I am suppose to duplicate the same information in my article? Or it it more appropriate to merge two articles? Also, I would be thankful if a senior editor could help write this up so that it is accepted? Thanks for the feedback. Earthianyogi (talk) 11:06, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Skyline Communications article (draft)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Sophie_Merchouk/sandbox

Hi @Sulfurboy:,

If I understand the comments correctly, the draft I submitted was rejected because of the lack of references and quality of those included, right? If I simply add more (& third-party) references, would it then be accepted? I also read the comment you wrote on my Talk page, but I believe I have done exactly as you suggest there:

, that's mentioned on my user page. I did disclose the fact that I am working as a copywriter for Skyline Communications, so I don't really see what the problem is there.

Please advise as to what I can do to resubmit the draft and for it to be accepted (I have not & will not edit anything in the meantime, as you requested).

You need to properly disclose on the draft itself, not on my talk page. The reasons for the decline were provided in the decline message along with links to applicable policies. Beyond that, I have no interest in volunteering my time to help you get paid for yours.Sulfurboy (talk) 13:00, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Hi thank you for reviewing the draft I wrote. It has been rejected because sources are not verifiable. I’m trying to understand why this is as I ve used sources such as main newspapers and main art magazines in the field such as the guardian, the independent, frieze, art monthly and two publications published by Yale university press and by the British film institute. I’m really willing to understand, also for future article writing. I’d really appreciate your help in improving this article and future ones. Help with understanding why sources are not considered verifiable

Here is the link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Elisabetta_Fabrizi Thank you reviewing the article. It has been rejected and I’m trying to understand why. I have included notes for most of the information. The sources of the notes are main newspaper criticism such as from the guardian, the New York Times, the independent, and main art magazines such as frieze and art monthly plus I cited two books published by major publishers such as Yale university press and the british film institute. I would really appreciate your help in understanding how to improve the article before I make edits and resubmit. I appreciate you review many articles so thank you for your time. --Alviani (talk) 16:33, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Alviani (talk) 16:33, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Alviani, Vimeo and IMDB are generally considered unreliable. Also, some of the sources are not correctly formatted. Please see WP:REFB Sulfurboy (talk) 16:35, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

I added: "A copula is a mathematical function that provides a relationship between marginal distributions of random variables and their joint distributions. Copula is important because it represents a dependence structure without using marginal distributions. Copula has been widely used in the field of finance, but its use in signal processing is relatively new. Copula has been employed in the field of wireless communication for classifying radar signals, change detection in remote sensing applications, and EEG signal processing in medicine." However, I was unable to remove the title 'Copula signal processing' as suggested by the another editor Maury Markowitz; maybe someone could help. thanks again.Earthianyogi (talk) 16:08, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Earthianyogi (talk) 16:08, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Earthianyogi, I'm confused by what you mean with remove the title....do you mean move the page to "Copula signal processing"? Sulfurboy (talk) 16:25, 7 April 2020 (UTC)
Sulfurboy, I was suggested that "The lead is a bigger issue. To start with, the article does have something like a lead already - simply remove the header "Copula in Signal Processing" and that paragraph becomes a typical lead for a math article." However, I was unable to remove/change this title. Thank you
I'm not sure what that person was trying to suggest. I would reach out to them for clarification. Sulfurboy (talk) 17:09, 7 April 2020 (UTC)
Sulfurboy, they were suggesting to change the title. But I can do that later if the article gets accepted or maybe it would not be required. Thanks Earthianyogi (talk) 17:11, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Draft Article Review - Verifiable References

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Thatrom_Thookrom

Above page got declined stating that I have not given verifiable references. I have given all the verifiable reference available in the public domain like Newspapers, Local Language Magazine etc. I checked with other movie pages and all of them has similar references only. Any unreleased movie page can have only these kind of references from. Please advise. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikied20 (talkcontribs) 18:51, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Wikied20, Social media, youtube and imdb are generally considered unreliable and thus shouldn't be used. If you can't find other, more reliable sources to back the information in the article then that info should be removed. Sulfurboy (talk) 19:24, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

References Question - Cap Gold (Musical Artist)

Hi Sulfurboy,

Hope this message finds you well.

Thank you for taking the time to review my submission for the musical artist, Cap Gold (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Cap_Gold). I'm curious why the references haven't been deemed credible; I used all independent sources I found online from reputable sources: HipHopDX, HotNewHipHop, WorldstarHiphop, MaxPreps.

Can you please let me know how I should proceed to ensure that this article gets approved?

I sincerely appreciate your time and help.

Best, Zach — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zhurwitz4 (talkcontribs) 21:20, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

We need to see WP:SIGCOV that isn't just routine announcements like album/single/music video releases or record deals. Those things are considered WP:ROUTINE and don't denote notability. Same logic applies to the MaxPreps source, that's just someone's sports stats page. Literally tens of thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of people have maxpreps pages exactly like that. Thank you for all of your help and patience.

Reliable source question for David Hanna (artist) page

Hi Sulfurboy,

Thanks so much for the initial feedback on this page for the artist David Hanna: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:David_Hanna_(artist)

I'm been helping the page creator improve the sources, but we're worried by the possibility of submitting it again, getting rejected, and potentially having the page deleted as a result. Two quotes in the draft were pulled from museum exhibition catalogues, which I've seen in PDF form but I've been unable to locate online. If I rely on the catalogues to confirm the two quotes, but I can't actually link to the catalogues in the article, do we risk getting rejected again? If that's the case, I'll make more changes before resubmitting. Thanks for any additional feedback and for your patience with this request.

Merriermerry (talk) 00:50, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Merriermerry, You're fine to resubmit. I haven't reviewed it again, but I wouldn't worry about rejection as long as your making good faith efforts to improve the article. Sulfurboy (talk) 08:18, 7 April 2020 (UTC)
