Eminem discography

Your recent edit has been reverted as you had inserted a position(s) which you supported with an unreliable source. Please do not insert any position(s) into the tables which cannot be found in the sources already provided, any newly submitted sources must be reliable.  Your recent edits which you had made to Eminem discography have been reverted. Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did again to Eminem discography. Before inserting chart positions again, be sure to discuss the reliability of your sources at the talk-page. No problem. I removed the 111 peak for "Taboo" though, it is not a hot100 peak, and usually charts are not mixed in the same column. --Muhandes (talk) 07:22, 6 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:50-cent-new-teeth.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:50-cent-new-teeth.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:06, 21 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Re:Eminem discography

edit

I have reverted your edits. Please do not re-insert Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles or Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles. We are to have consistency within our columns; therefore, we must not mix the positions of Billboard Hot 100 with the positions of Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles within the same column. In the same vein, we should have consistency within the column of Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, meaning, we are not to combine the positions of Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs with Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles. The positions for Bubbling Under... are not significant to include, they should be left out. They could; however, be mentioned within the pages of the each songs on wikipedia repectively, but not on the main discography.--Harout72 (talk) 21:14, 12 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

No problem. Done and done, although I need your opinion on an issue - the notes state that the production recording by Boi-1da simply took place in Ajax, Ontario - it is no more specific than that. I have simply put that for now, and I am not sure if we should find out any more specific details. Any more liner notes from Recovery or Hell: The Sequel required, just ask!

Speedy deletion nomination of Roscoe Dash discography

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Roscoe Dash discography requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. MikeWazowski (talk) 19:56, 4 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

I realize you're still working on it, but I'd like to point out one little detail, in case you don't notice it (or have forgotten it): The certs are sorted differently for different recordings, but according to WP:DISCOGSTYLE should be alphabetical by provider (abbreviation), with the artist's home country first (RIAA for Eminem). The Swiss certs (IFPI SWI) should be sorted as "I", not "S", for example. My apologies if you had this on your list already; I just noticed it and thought I'd mention it quickly. Drake discography

edit

Thanks for the notifications regarding "Marvins Room".

Based on what my understanding of the long-winded debate regarding "Party", the song was changed from an official single to a promotional single due to the presence of sources that suggested that its radio solicitation was probably cancelled. I also noticed the many sources mentioning that "Headlines" was set to be the first single from the album, which is why I refrained from changing the "Marvins Room" infobox from a promotional single infobox to a single infobox, and also refrained from adding "Marvins Room" to the singles portion of the Take Care infobox. There were also lengthy debates over whether the presence of radio add dates confirmed that songs could be considered official singles on other talk pages, such as the talk page for the single "Raining Men".

Overall, I can understand your side if you decided to add "Marvins Room" back onto the promotional singles sections. Holiday56 (talk) 15:03, 14 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Lil Wayne discography

edit

Thanks for noticing my work on the discography. Regarding the concerns you've left on my talk page:

  • I had noticed the unsuitable forum references placed by previous editors in the article, but somehow I completely forgot to remove them, as I was too busy fixing other aspects of the article, such as the singles tables. I've removed them for now, but I'll be searching for some suitable references to confirm these sales.
  • With all honesty, I'm not quite knowledgeable on which mixtapes are legitimate or not, other than obviously legitimate ones such as Da Drought or Dedication. Validating the list, however, is definitely on my to-do list. Holiday56 (talk) 04:04, 25 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Carly Rae Jepsen discography

edit

I left a list of reminders on this user's talk page, and while he/she seems to be following some of them (no longer blanking out table captions and references, at least as of his last batch of edits), he/she also seems to breaking some (changing of providers, adding certifications of countries whose chart peaks are not mentioned). I'm actually limiting my edits on the page, as I too want to avoid an edit war. Perhaps another talk page notice would be in order, and if the user continues to make disruptive edits, a report. Foo Fighters discography

edit

Ok so you have won me over on updating the Foo Fighters 'Studio Albums' table and keeping it to 10 charts. Can I just ask, will this be done for other tables on the Foo Fighters discography ? Some the 'Singles' table was narrowed down to 12 charts but then someone added the Canadian Alternative chart, which I am not sure if it is even an official chart so maybe that should go. Somewhere in Wiki guidlines it states to use charts that are relative to the band's success. So for the Foo Fighter's singles table I think it is important to keep the US Hot 100, US Airplay, US Alternative, U Maintstream Rock, Australian Singles Chart, Canadian Singles Chart, Irish Singles Chart, Netherlands Singles Chart, New Zealand Singles Chart, Swedish Singles Chart and UK Singles Chart. That is 12 charts, I know but they are all relative. If two have to go to bring it down to 10 then maybe the Irish and Swedish singles charts, but I think they are both relative. I am not bothered if you take away the Canadian Alternative Chart as it seems to be unofficial anyway, or at least the latter half.mjgm84 (talk) 18:27, 5 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Attention

edit

This is getting ridiculous. I have tried contacting Ericorbit in his talk page and he has not responded back in almost a week. Seeing that you will do the same let me start off by saying I am not trying to be rude or anything, but I had added reasonable and reliable sources for citations next to the songs (most of them were audio and news outlets; I mean what part do you not understand when it's fully documented & solid proof?) If you would like me to correctly cite it with the date and publisher (I am aware that I did not do so on most of them) please unblock the article so that I may go in and fix it. Some of those songs that are currently on the discography section are incorrect and she was not featured on them. A lot of the actual featured songs are missing. Please unblock the page, I need to fix it up her discography is incomplete and very very very incorrect! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.115.168.7 (talk) 24 November 2012 (UTC)

RE: RE: Attention

edit

Well I am happy that you acknowledge that I am not trying to disrupt the discography (obviously) the point is is that I have various sources that I have researched and taken note of over the past few years. So since I am unable to use less or no YouTube sources, you need to unblock the page then so I may add in the other sources and correctly cite them (appropriately and efficiently). No other IP address edits the page except me and the other Wikipedians like yourself; I am only requesting it to unblock so I may go in, add the other sources, cite them correctly and fix the article. Her entire discography is utterly incorrect and as I stated before most of the songs on there do not feature her or are missing. You may find it silly, but I have no other way of editing it unless you unblock the page. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.115.168.7 (talk) 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Freshmen Adjustment / "Diced Pineapples"

edit

I haven't found any sources for an official radio add date or single release for "Diced Pineapples". It seems to be getting a hefty amount of airplay, but I'm not sure that guarantees official release.

For the longest time, I had assumed that the Freshmen Adjustment series were official Kanye West releases, but some information seems to dispute that. "Chi Town Gettin' Down Inc.", the label which released the series, has some questionable releases in its discography, such as a Lupe Fiasco mixtape entitled Muhammad Walks. For the meantime, I'll see if I can find anymore sources. Holiday56 (talk) 01:30, 15 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

RE: I Care 4 U

edit

Discogs is an unreliable source as it's user-generated content (Wikipedia:WikiProject_Albums/Sources#Sources_to_avoid), and I googled the release version(s) shown at Allmusic, catalog no.s B000024111 and 000024111, and no reliable source (retail, Billboard, etc.) verifies it; presumably, Allmusic's database is a tertiary source based on primary sources such as retailers, where they would get information like catalog numbers, dates, and release lengths. More importantly, I couldnt find any secondary sources/articles that said this song was ever released; any source that mentions singles for Aaliyah says something along the lines of 3 singles: "We Need a Resolution", "More Than a Woman", and "Rock the Boat". Dan56 (talk) 14:42, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

This image looks like radio/promo recording, and it reads "From the album I Care 4 U". Gave GoogleBooks another spin and found this Billboard column referring to it as "Aaliyah's previous single" in a review of "Miss You". The same magazine issue has "I Care 4 U" charting on the R&B and Hot 100 Airplay (Radio Songs), so I'm starting to lean towards radio single. However, I recall a consensus at WT:SONG determing that a radio single isnt called a single by the music industry, so how would this song be classified as it pertains to the infobox, song or single? Dan56 (talk) 15:05, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
More of a problem is the release date. The earliest issue in which Billboard mentions the song is June 1, 2002 when it debuted on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs as an "album cut", but the copyright on the Discogs image of the promo recording reads "(C) 2003". None of this makes sense. Dan56 (talk) 15:11, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

David Guetta discography

edit

Thanks for noticing my work on the article — glad you liked it. In response to the points you've brought up:

  • Made changes to the discography for "Sweat"; Doggumentary is now listed in the album field.
  • The "Revolver" single cover shows an artist listing of "Madonna vs. David Guetta", in the same way several of Guetta's singles are credited to "David Guetta vs. x". Based on that, I moved it up to the lead artist singles section from the featured artist singles section. The article for the song, however, just seems to credit the listing to "Madonna featuring Lil Wayne". To top it all off, Wayne isn't even credited on the single cover.

On another note, would you mind leaving some comments here? I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions. Holiday56 (talk) 14:24, 19 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Notes

edit

I'm not very sure on the whole matter, honestly. My main problem is the entire uncertainty regarding the matter – the last discussion regarding how to list these "bubbling under"-type charts was closed with no consesus. Several users wanted these to be listed as uncharted, citing WP:SYNTH and potential confusion (i.e. users seeing the link to the Hot 100 and then seeing positions below 100), while others wanted these to be listed as numbers below 100 (101, 102, etc.), pointing out that several reputable organizations and sources (Yahoo! Music, Joel Whitburn's books and even Billboard themselves) have listed these positions that way. It appears that a majority of the discographies on the site features Bubbling Under positions – I'm not particularly comfortable sweeping all of these out.

Billboard themselves listed these explicitly as numbers 101, 102, 103, etc. on their print editions (just some of the many examples I can cite: [2], [3], [4]) – I suppose that could be some sort of warrant for listing Bubbling Under positions as numbers below 100. When Billboard decided to update the magazine's look and re-introduced the Bubbling Under chart, the positions were re-listed as numbers from 1–25, and I suppose that's where some confusion arises. As for the other European charts such as the Dutch Tipparade – I'll try to look into them, though I suppose the same things regarding the U.S. Bubbling Under chart apply. Rap Songs/Rap Airplay

Chartbot just uses the number that was in the URL. In [5], since the chart number was 370, Chartbot converted it to "Rap Airplay", which is the chart for that code. Macklemore discography

edit

Looking into it further, the New Zealand charts website does indeed list the original version, but uses a cover of the live remix. I assume that it charted on the strength of downloads of the iTunes single, but that's mere speculation. In any case, I'd still classify it as a single rather than a promotional single regardless of which version was released, as I can't find any solid reasons for classifying it as such. All of Macklemore's singles (at the very least, his early singles) appear to have been digital-only releases, and since this one falls under that category as well, I can't find any reason to exclude it from the main singles table. Still, let me know if you have any extra thoughts regarding this. Holiday56 (talk) 09:02, 9 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
