IIHF World Championship Winners

edit

Thank you for your concern with regard to the recent deletion of the IIHF World Championship Winners template. Basically, WP:OTHERSTUFF is not generally considered a good argument in a deletion discussion. However, since it seems that a similar rationale applies, I have nominated CONCACAF Gold Cup winners. Feel free to nominate others that you feel fall into the same category. If you would like to have the deletion reviewed, you can always start a thread at WP:DRV. Thanks! Orphaned non-free image File:SlovakiaLogo2011.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading File:SlovakiaLogo2011.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Just trying to sort this out. I have no intention of starting an edit war. Evanh2008 (talk|contribs) 00:41, 9 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Personal attacks

edit

This is your last warning. The next time you make personal attacks on other people, as you did at Talk:American Third Position Party, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Comment on content, not on fellow editors.--Orange Mike | Talk 22:56, 9 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Edit warring

edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on American Third Position Party. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Beyond My Ken (talk) 04:00, 10 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

June 2012

edit

Your recent editing history at American Third Position Party shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Please note this does not mean you are entitled to three reverts a day, that is not the case. Dougweller (talk) 05:41, 10 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of File:Canada Population ver 3.png

edit

The file File:Canada Population ver 3.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Superseded by File:Population Canada ver 4.png

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ♠PMC(talk) 15:52, 22 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
