Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

File source problem with File:Urdu1.JPG

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Urdu1.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Bajjika, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Maithili (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Moringa oleifera

edit

Moving from my talk page. --Zefr (talk) 19:06, 24 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

You said: you recently reverted my edits on Moringa oleifera page , calling regional names as unnecessary in English wikipedia. But tell me isn't that a good thing that English readers will come to know various popular names of this Vegetable ? Inclusion of regional names should be a good addition in my view. We aren't including anything other than regional terminologies. --Scyfie (talk) 05:56, 24 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Scyfie: see WP:NOTDICTIONARY. Peter coxhead (talk) 07:06, 24 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Peter coxhead: Okay that's fine, I understand that Wikipedia is not a dictionary. But then Wiktionary is also not about Translated words or Non-English words, I presume. So, where should the popular regional names of Vegetables, Fruits, Animals etc go ?
@Scyfie: what I think WP:NOTDICTIONARY is aimed at are 'bare' lists of names, whether English or non-English. Sometimes it's important in order to achieve clarity to discuss names, particularly where these differ in the main English-speaking countries, e.g. "eggplant" vs. "aubergine", or "courgette" vs. "zucchini". Sometimes the etymology of a name is interesting and encyclopedic, e.g. the origin of "aubergine". But presenting mere lists of regional or other names is not the function of an encyclopedia. Yes, there are a lot of articles with such lists, but they should be removed. Peter coxhead (talk) 08:19, 24 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Scyfie and Peter coxhead: thanks for the discussion. Peter's position is also mine, and I add WP:NOTEVERYTHING which has the goal of keeping the encyclopedia focused (in English) and concise. --Zefr (talk) 15:55, 24 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Videgha Mathava moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Videgha Mathava, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
