Speedy deletion nomination of Confused Matthew

A tag has been placed on Confused Matthew requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. You have to cite your sources when you add content like this. I will help if you don't know how but please note the manner I have already cited two books in the article, the link I provided on the talk page to WP:CITE, and see also Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. Sensitive material that can affect these people living relatives must be cited at the time it is added (and note that the the article would have properly been deleted immediately if I had not already added sources in declining the speedy deletion request. I see that you placed in the article that he died in 1995. Do you have a source for this? I ask because the first source I used, published in 2004, said that he was currently (i.e., as of 2004) an inmate in a specific prison.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 04:02, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

Well, when you add back the content I removed, do your best to add the citation. It can be as simple as this: place these tags after each part of the text you add, <ref> good description of source </ref> and I will fix it up afterwards (though I am going to bed relatively soon, so it might not be immediate). I see you tried to use the form of multiple reference I did but got slightly lost. You just missed one part. If you're using a reference once, you can just use <ref>citation</ref>. But if you want to use the same reference again, you have to give the reference a name—I usually use the last name of the author but you can use anything—the first use is <ref name="identifier">citation<ref> and the next umpteen times you want to use it you just use the first part with a closing slash like so: <ref name="identifier" />. Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Trinity Broadcasting Network. Please respect the contribution of other editors and stop deleting wide scale content that is sourced, historical and neutral.

It is not Wikipedia's best practices for an editor to delete an existing article (all or in part), which is accurate, well sourced, and the result of a collaborative effort by multiple editors over time. If you want to add factual, sourced information you may do so, but Tendentious repetitive attempts to insert or delete content or behavior that tends to frustrate proper editorial processes and discussions is prohibited, as is disruptive editing that totally disregards the content in an article that is already established and has been reviewed and approved by other editors. • The problem, as explained at the deletion discussion, is that at least in my view there is not an acceptable fair use justification for keeping the copyrighted image. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
