Re: reliability edit

Namaste Sir 🙏, Tanuj here, Sir i read your message that stated that my news was not covered by reliable sources and that it was covered by independent sources. Respected Sir, if you wish I can provide you the links of some reliable and reputed media houses which have covered my news ( like : P. I. B., Rstv, Mygov, Knowindia , even my news was tweeted by the hon. P. M. etc.)~ these are all govt agencies. What could be more reliable than the news published by them. Besides it was also covered by india today, the hindustan times, abpeducation, dailyhint etc. I went through the profiles of Master Souhardya De and Jyoti Kumari. I checked the ' references' section and I found that their articles were also based on the stories and news published by P. I. B., India today, hindustan times, NDTV, abp education. etc. Sir, I believe that I have a lot of potential in the field of fine arts. But I consider myself really unfortunate because I have not been able to find any good platform where I would be able to tell the world about my skills. I thought that my Indian / non - Indian Members in Wikipedia would provide me that platform as I knew that I'm worthy of having a wiki profile because of all my achievements at national and international level. It's just a request on my part and just a decision on your part that'll make the difference. I would be truely grateful to you if you think about it. Sir, it's just because a small pinch of luck that someone gets a wiki profile for himself/herself and someone doesn't. Sir, I know that there will be certain limitations , restrictions and rules and regulations of Wikipedia which you shall have to abide by. I don't want you to be in trouble for the sake of mine 🙏☺. I appreciate whatever you've done for me. Thank you once again for including my name in the 2021 awardees section of the PMRBP page of Wikipedia. Thank you Tanuj Sam (talk) 04:18, 2 March 2021 (UTC) TanujReply

Honorific prefix and suffix edit

According to WP:NCIN policy, we are not suppose to add honorific prefixes and suffixes in the infobox and article lead, including awards like Padma Shree, Padma Bhushan, etc. I've removed some that were added by you. Kindly undo the ones I've missed. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:35, 20 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Though these can be added in infobox parameters such as awards and honors. Some of those articles already have those. Pranab Mukherjee is a level-5 article which has awards and honors in the infobox, but no honorific prefixes and suffixes. You can follow that article. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:41, 20 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Okay sir, thank you for letting me know! Rohan9082 (talk) 11:55, 20 March 2021 (UTC)Rohan9082Reply

Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Rohan9082. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Souhardya De, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 14:49, 1 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Note that regardless of whether you have a conflict of interest or not, it is absolutely not appropriate to add a lot of promotional claims based only on primary sources (you can't say that De has been a columnist for such and such a paper and source it only with links to his columns or to his profile at that paper.) If an independent and secondary source has written about it, it can be added. Regards, --bonadea contributions talk 14:52, 1 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

I'm extremely sorry to have added those details. I am a new editor and I do not know much about the Wikipedia norms as of yet. As for COI, I am, in no way, related to the companies or to the subject as well but I write and edit pages about Indian national awardees often. So, that was the cause. thanks Rohan9082 (talk) 14:55, 1 April 2021 (UTC)Rohan9082Reply

Thank you for your response. You added a photo of De, which you claim as your own work – that would suggest that you have some connection to him. Where did you get the photo? (It is a good picture, but if it is copyrighted it cannot be used, unfortunately.) --bonadea contributions talk 15:11, 1 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi, yes, this photo was taken by me at Kolkata Apeejay Literary Festival 2020 (Rupa Publications corner) and no, it is not copyrighted I think because I have not published this work earlier and also, being a cameraperson with Zee 24 ghanta myself, I do often take pictures of various notable celebrities and people at lit and film fests (KIFF) in and around Kolkata, Bengal. April 2021 edit

  Hello, I'm Mskadu. I noticed that you recently removed content from Chithra Ramakrishnan without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please do not remove cited text. Proposed deletion of John Lowe (Indologist) edit

The article John Lowe (Indologist) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Can't find enough in-depth coverage to pass WP:GNG, and does not appear to meet WP:NSCHOLAR.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. May 2022 edit

  Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Souhardya De, you may be blocked from editing. Please re-review the information from last April. Specifically: Note that regardless of whether you have a conflict of interest or not, it is absolutely not appropriate to add a lot of promotional claims based only on primary sources (you can't say that De has been a columnist for such and such a paper and source it only with links to his columns or to his profile at that paper.) If an independent and secondary source has written about it, it can be added. bonadea contributions talk 17:42, 10 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
