Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Rglazman. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Roman Glazman, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. ☾Loriendrew☽ (ring-ring) 05:05, 17 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Rglazman, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: Click here to contest this speedy deletion which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy deletion candidate). Doing so will take you to your user talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also edit this page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would help make it encyclopedic. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ☾Loriendrew☽ (ring-ring) 05:08, 17 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Roman Glazman

edit

The article Roman Glazman has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Speedy deletion nomination of Roman Glazman

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Roman Glazman requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Please do not write about yourself

edit

  Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but it appears you have written or added to an article about yourself, at Roman Glazman. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Request reason:

Bbb23, I sincerely apologize for any disruption or inconvenience I caused. I was in the process of editing the page, having multiple tabs open. After I completed the edits, i accidentally used the "old" tab, as I was attempting to add links and references within the text. When I tried to use the "Revert" method, assuming that I would be taken to the previous version, I noticed a block message. :Please allow me to post the version, which I intended.

Decline reason:

This does not address WP:COI and WP:SPA. Yamla (talk) 11:50, 15 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Replying to talk Thank you for providing the reasons for the block. I would like to address these reasons:WP:COI and WP:SPA, and to explain why the block is no longer necessary, as no conflict of interest exists and the account is not a WP:SPA account.

First about why this is not a WP:SPA account. This account and page for the scientist were created to share the information about a narrow niche in physics, i.e. Oceanography, and the origins of science discovery in this niche. As the account owner, I have interest and was a student in mathematics and came across the articles of this author, finding that background information about his field of Oceanography in the United States, in Russia and the world, would interest other readers. The specific field in science and the time described in the article makes this a niche subject, rather than a single purpose account. The content focus is neutral and academic, and there is no any promotional or commercial content. To enrich the content of the page to make it more engaging, I found biographical information that was presented at a science club to add to the page Early Life and Education section, just before the account was blocked.

My second reason to remove the block is that there is not WP:COI a conflict of interest for this article. The article is not promotional, but a narrative about the development of the field of Oceanography, and is not related to any company or agenda. No statements are being made about any agendas or views, and no views are expressed on this page. The facts are provided from primary (science clubs and associations) and secondary sources online. As the account owner, I do not get paid for this activity and I share freely the facts that may interest the public, nor do i work or get paid for any organization in this field, or have a relationship with anyone in the article.

Please be assured that I will continue to adhere to these editing rules in the future and that the block was likely accidental by a robot. Thank you for your collaboration.12:14, 16 September 2022 (UTC)12:14, 16 September 2022 (UTC)

Decline reason:

You have not adequately addressed the WP:COI and WP:SPA issues raised by other administrators. I have looked over your contribs and I concur with their assessment that your behaviour is that of a COI SPA. - CorbieVreccan 22:31, 20 September 2022 (UTC))Reply

Help me

edit

I created this page in January 2016 and found some interesting information to add. As I was making edits to the page, I encountered an error resulting in a block by a robot. I'd like to have some guidance in removing the block and completing the edits. If you'd like to help, i would greatly appreciated it. Rglazman (talk) 19:14, 16 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

You have already requested an unblock above, so I am closing this {{help me}} request. Primefac (talk) 19:36, 16 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
