Hello, Reyk/Archive3, and thank you for vote on my recent RfA! With a final vote of 62/2/4, I have now been entrusted with the mop, bucket and keys. As I acclimate myself to my new tools, feel free to let me know how you believe I might be able to use them to help the project. Thanks again! RadioKirk talk to me 05:34, 6 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: New Media Campaigns

I removed links. I'm a wikipedia novice and should've done more research on the policies. Sorry for the error. I thought it was more tech savvy with the links, but I was mistaken.

The links were ALL relevant, especially the Frogger one. I am reporting you to Wikipedia's adminstration. Christmas Frogger, according to Koingo is FREE, it's not a commcerial plug. Hey Reyk/Archive3

I am wondering if you would like to join WikiProject NBL. I believe that this is something that you might be able to help me with, by creating user boxes and player boxes for it or even adding articles about Players

Hi Reyk/Archive3,

Thank you for supporting my RFA! Unfortunately it did not succeed mainly because most opposers wanted me to spend more time on Wikipedia. Thank you for your faith in me & looking forward to your continued support in the future.

Blnguyen's RfA

edit
Hello Reyk. Thank you for your full support and gracious comment at my request for adminship which ended at the overwhelming and flattering result of (160/1/0), and leaves me in a position of having to live up to a high standard of community expectation. You can see me in action and observe what then happened as a result. If you need admin assistance, feel free to ask me. Naturally, if I make any procedural mistakes, feel free to point them out. I look forward to working with you in the future, hopefully as an admin. (As for Quasi-Hopf algebra and Quasi-bialgebra, I'm afraid they are almost irreparably technical and inaccessible to non-active pure mathematicians, as only a few books have been on these and they are usually seminar proceedings and the like :( )Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 02:43, 31 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

List of songs with a color word(s) in their names

Hi, I appreciate your point re this list, but it seems to me to be a pity to delete a page into which so much effort has gone (even though that effort might have been more useful elsewhere). So I'm asking editors if they can rethink and factor that in - I appreciate they may well reach the same conclusion even after a rethink :-) Dlyons493 Talk

User's (old) IP address

edit

Is it possible to determine my IP address? I'd like to go back to the articles I edited prior to having a real username, and possibly update the credited IP-address to point to my current username. (Unless, of course, there are too many duplicate IPs).
- Loadmaster 22:40, 11 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I answered my own question. I tried logging out and then editing a page with the "~~" signature, to see what IP address showed up in the signature. As I expected, that particular IP address appears to be randomly assigned, so it has dozens of edit credits, which does me no good in tracking down my previous edits. Oh well.

Wikipedia Research Survey Request

edit

Hello, I am a member of a research group at Palo Alto Research Center (formerly known as Xerox PARC) studying how conflicts occur and resolve on Wikipedia. Due to your experience in conflict resolution on Wikipedia (e.g., as a member of the Mediation Cabal) we’re extremely interested in your insights on this topic. We have a survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=400792384029 which we are inviting a few selected Wikipedians to participate in, and we would be extremely appreciative if you would take the time to complete it. As a token of our gratitude, we would like to present you with a PARC research star upon completion. Thank you for your time.

Fair use

edit

Hi, Reyk. I noticed you included Image:South Park Xenu.jpg in a userbox in your userpage. Unfortunately, since image has fair use tag, using it outside the article namespace is not allowed per the fair use policy. See also: Wikipedia:Removal of fair use images#Fair use images on userboxes. Please replace it with a free image such as Image:Xenu space plane.jpg. Thanks. --Zoz (t) 16:48, 6 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Contributions List

edit

I've stolen your idea for listing my Wiki contributions on my user page. But this brings up a question: Is there a way (perhaps using a bot) to generate a list of all articles where some specified person is the initial contributor? Or perhaps there is some way to search/narrow the list on our my contributions page? Seems like this would be a useful info to have. — Loadmaster 14:36, 23 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:RegHickey2.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:RegHickey2.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 07:51, 4 February 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Longhair\talk 07:51, 4 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:RegHickey2.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:RegHickey2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. License tagging for Image:DoubleExponential.PNG

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:DoubleExponential.PNG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 09:13, 29 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Please note the response to your AFD of the article Charlie Purdy here. You may wish to consider withdrawing the nomination as the content you nominated was in fact a case of an article being transposed over another article either through good faith error or intentional vandalism. If you wish to reopen another AFD for the original article, please feel free, although Olympic athletes are generally considered inherently notable.
