License tagging for File:The Lightning Thief Cover.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:The Lightning Thief Cover.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. Orphaned non-free image File:The Lightning Thief Cover.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:The Lightning Thief Cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

List of most expensive Indian films

We must not include the budgets of upcoming films as their budgets are certain to escalate, especially if it's a film directed by Shankar or Rajamouli. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:20, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

July 2016

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Enthiran and List of most expensive Indian films. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges. Thank you. WP:PRIMARY

Hi there, your edit here at List of highest-grossing Indian films has been reverted. The 320 crore box office value for Kabali is attribute to the film's producer per the reference you provided. We don't use primary sources like producers, directors, actors, distributors for controversial data like film financials, because these people have every reason to inflate or deflate the numbers to suit their personal gain. We only care what secondary sources that have arrived at these values independently have to say. The source you provided is even distancing themselves from the claim, using the phrase "If reports are to believe[d]". Feel free to discuss at Talk:List of highest-grossing Indian films if you wish. Thanks. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:02, 29 July 2016 (UTC)

Enthiran worldwide gross

Please give me your source which states that Enthiran grossed 2.89 billion worldwide. Kailash29792 (talk) 06:50, 31 July 2016 (UTC)

Moving book pages

Please refrain from moving book pages to new names, as you did to pages in the series Percy Jackson & the Olympians. Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (books), series titles are not needed in article titles for books, as they only serve to make titles longer and articles harder to search. The titles The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, etc. are the names by which the books are most commonly known in English and other languages. Therefore they are what our articles should be called, to help readers find information more easily. -- 2ReinreB2 (talk) 20:35, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Kabali poster.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Kabali poster.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 17:17, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

Arbitrary reordering of content

Hi there, re: this edit, it's typically a bad idea to reorder content unless there is a clear reason to do so. In this case, your reordering of languages for 2.0 (film) does not seem constructive to me, as it tends to look like some sort of passive-aggressive ethnic warring. If that's not your motivation, that's fine, but then what is a valid reason to change these around? Presently they appear to be in alphabetical order. Thanks. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 07:46, 19 August 2016 (UTC)

Blogs as references

Hi there, re: these edits, we don't use faceless blogs like fabnewz.com as references. We only care what reliable published sources with established reputations for fact-checking and accuracy have to say about any given subject. Please familiarize yourself with our reliable sourcing guidelines, and note that user-generated content like blogs, discussion forums, IMDb, unverified Twitter accounts, and so forth are not sufficient. Thanks. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 10:10, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

Disruptive removal of a merge template

This edit, where you removed a merge template with no rationale, is disruptive. This template belongs in the article until a consensus is achieved about the fate of the article. Removing it serves no useful purpose and only tends to look like you're interfering with the good-faith discussions. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:23, 21 September 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Sivakarthikayen2016.jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Sivakarthikayen2016.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —SpacemanSpiff 05:38, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  —SpacemanSpiff 05:40, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 6

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of multilingual Indian films, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page S.Shankar. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Questionable, arbitrary language changes...again

This edit is highly questionable to me. Keep in mind that I've been editing for years, I've made over 80,000 edits, and I've seen many different colors of disruptive behavior, so I have a bit of an instinct for what looks like constructive edits vs. what looks like deliberately irritating edits. As I previously brought your attention after you made this edit, arbitrary changes to languages are not constructive. I thought I did a good job of explaining that such edits tended to look like passive-aggressive edit-warring. Maybe you didn't understand? If not, you should read it again. If you disagreed with my input at the time, you were free to open a discussion here, or at Talk:2.0 (film). You chose not to, so I can only assume you understood the problem, and wisely thought it best to not pursue the questionable changes.

I also have ample experience editing Indian film articles. This issue doesn't come up much, so when someone arbitrarily changes language order, then issues some edict warning editors not to change the change, that looks an awful lot like you're either trying to irritate the Telugu-speaking community, or you're trying to make some kind of lame point about Wikipedia editing/consistency or whatever. Regardless of your motivation, as a general rule, if something ain't broke, you shouldn't "fix" it. There's nothing inherently wrong with the previous Telugu / Tamil ordering, so changing it to alphabetical is arbitrary. If you have some sort of argument for why you think that Tamil should be ordered first (i.e. because it's "more of a Tamil film than a Telugu film" or some such macho ethnic warring reason) then you need to take that to a larger forum like the Indian cinema task force or maybe better WikiProject Film to seek consensus for your position. If you are Indian, you undoubtedly know that ethnic-warring is a common problem, so you undoubtedly know that your change is bound to inflame people who identify Baahubali as a "Telugu film", regardless of whether or not that's the best way to classify it. To put it bluntly, your change is indistinguishable from trolling. Seek consensus before issuing unilateral edicts, please. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 06:11, 30 September 2016 (UTC)

Well, I thought you said it is better to be alphabetical order. And, I have a question, if this order inflames people who identify Baahubali as a "Telugu film" then wouldn't the order on 2.0 (film) inflame people who identify it as a "Tamil film", as it's predecessor was a Tamil film (Enthiran).Rajan51 (talk) 09:26, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
When did I say it was better to be in alphabetical order? Why don't you participate in discussion on the 2.0 talk page? There's already a conversation open on this very matter. Or better, open a discussion at WikiProject Film like I suggested to Nirinsanity at Talk:2.0 (film). The issue you were originally approached with, was the arbitrary changing of languages. It may well be that the WikiProject Film community prefers it in alphabetical order, or it may very well be that WikiProject Film would prefer the order to be by "ethnic film industry". But with an endless ocean of editors who refuse to open discussions to arrive at consensus, how will we ever know? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:50, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
Just so you don't miss it, I opened a discussion here because it's a much larger audience comprising members of the greater WikiProject Film community. Since this is an issue that affects multiple articles, it's wider to go broader. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:12, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

I request you to review the page M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story as a user named Josephlalrinhlua786 is constantly adding unnecessary content from the web. Even after his edits being undone repeatedly by other users including myself, he continues to impose his version and ignores warnings and advices. Kindly look into the matter. ~~Rajan51 (talk) 15:46, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

In my defence, I did nothing wrong and did not violate any serious wikipedia policy. Yes you may have written a thousand articles and edited for centuries but we’re talking here purely in the context of the film and not your past experiences in Wikipedia with all due respect. It's been 4 days now that I've dedicated my entire life to the page, without which the "production" "release" and "reception" section would be dormant. I'm always open to help and advice, but not the types were people try to fit in their opinion and agenda so they could have a better outlook. I'm sorry but your name – “Raj” – might be an insinuation to me as it was for the Indians when the British Raj exploited them. I respect and admire your countless contributions to wikipedia for we all wikipedians have one common bond and that is to serve the masses by the informations we provide. A major revolution is eminent indeed. But what I find bugging about u is ur REF TAPSIM as I have told u before, you are so stuck with something so trivial as crore and rupees when they more or less connotes the same meaning and amount. Some Indian/Bollywood film articles have numbers in terms of crore and some million. So what? AS LONG AS THE FIGURE ARE ACCURATE it doesn't matter. The film opened to ₹66 crore (every source says ₹66 CRORE) and you go on writing in millions and say for the benefit of overseas readers. Well that's when the "US$" comes in right beside it. Chinese movie pages don't even do these they just write in their own currency. So why don't you see to that. The crore is for Indians and dollars for Caucasians. It's not like we can write for all 190+ currency. I don't see how we should write (Indian) million and (US) million. I mean people can get the wrong idea that we use millions instead of crore – you don't go to the back and ask for ₹10 million, you say ₹10 crore. This is an Indian film and that is how it should be written. I can't believe in discussing about something so trivial. Second, if some the contents I write are overly long or heftily covered than please I would bow down and thank you for the aid because I too make mistakes.. A lot of them! But the problem here with u is that instead of finding those flaws, you revert THE WHOLE THING! I mean c'mon read what's in the link and maybe truncate it, enrich it or do whatever. But you just remove the whole content which infuriates me (everyone would be). Correct others mistakes like that. By suddenly u become an extremist and go to the point where u want to block me and report me. What is this? Had Mahatma Gandhi used guns instead of non-violence then what would be the condition of India today. We won't even be having our national flag. Look Desmond Doss and how he saved 75 men lives without carrying a single gun when he went to war. PLEASE! Don't use these kinds of tactics. If I overly write something then text me and tell me and I'll see to it that I fix it. If I quote too much then inform me, I'll truncate it instead of deleting the whole information that took me many times to search (since I'm using from a phone). And then I have to write again; when u revert ur revert, you accuse me and condemn me and threaten me to get blocked. Like I've said to u personally, these kinds of moves will kill the incentives of other Wikipedians and especially the new ones. I'm glad that you brought this up with other veteran and venerated Wikipedians who I believe are not bias backed with reason. Yes, I promise i will see to it that I will delete the overly written informations section by section. But this needs time. I still need to write the review for the soundtrack and the songs (in short), have to take some more of the international review (I've taken just one from NY Times. Well, there was The Guardian’s review before but it got deleted by you-know-who). There's so much to do and scrutinizing the whole article will also take time. How can a single person do so much in a limited time with limited resources and on too authoritative rule? It's like a single mother with 10 babies -- newly born. I WANT AND NEED HELP to run this page, I can't do it alone but if it means deleting all the informations again (without trying to find meaning and importance from them) and quarreling over crore and million then I don't need one. I've said enough I think. Now it's up to u veterans to mark the flag and make the call. Josephlalrinhlua786 (talk) 21:58, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

1. IF IT DOESN'T MATTER, then why do you keep changing it to crores when Wikipedia prefers MILLIONS?? There's no point in comparing Chinese movie pages to Indian ones. It is obvious that people can understand the values in US$, but when Wikipedia itself prefers millions it is preferable to state the values in millions regardless of what the sources say. The value in the local currency of that country(as I said earlier) is so that people can understand the value in INR(). As far as I know, there is no rule in Wikipedia that Indian films should not represent values in millions and only in crores. If there is, then tell me!
2. Seriously? It looks like you didn't even read my reply on your talk page. I CLEARLY STATED that when I found long and unnecessary content, I DELETED IT, but you kept reverting the entire edit and added even more content which made it TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE to search for that content AGAIN and AGAIN. I even apologized for it, but you are so steel-hearted that you ignored my apology and still keep criticizing me for it.
3. Mahatma Gandhi used non-violent measures to fight against injustice. I corrected your mistakes but you kept IMPOSING YOUR VIEWS AND OPINIONS.I and Jdcomix even warned you that you are repeatedly unnecessarily adding content(Oh!Of course, I guess you would not have seen that too) but you still kept reverting our edits for the page to fit your views. I even wrote a message on your talk page asking you to remove unnecessary content, but you just turn a blind eye and you keep arguing to defend your views.
4. You do not have to do anything alone, but when you reject others when they help try to you, then nobody will want to help you. I appreciated your constructive edits on your talk page and even apologized but you still keep insisting that you are right as if you did everything right and I did everything wrong. ~~Rajan51 (talk) 17:09, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (soundtrack) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (soundtrack) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

I would like to know which part of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines this article has violated. Rajan51 (talk) 14:12, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

I have nothing against the existence of this soundtrack article. But it must be developed well enough to avoid being deleted. Kailash29792 (talk) 14:27, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

Then please help cause I am not much experienced in developing new articles.Rajan51 (talk) 14:30, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:21, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

minor edits is needed

Hello :) There should be minor edits in "List of most expensive Indian films" in two sections under "Most Expensive Indian Franchises". The language order is not right. It should be Tamil under "Enthiran" and "Singam". These two movies were dubbed in Hindi and Telugu. Therefore, it should be fixed into Tamil under these movies as the franchises were produced. Somebody else did the wrong order and I am unable to find out who it is. Anyhow, I would appreciate it if you can edit it instead :)

Thank you :) Calculatornumber (talk) 17:00, 1 May 2017 (UTC)

@Calculatornumber. I agree that Enthiran was released only in Tamil and dubbed in Telugu and Hindi, but it's sequel is to be released in all three languages, so it is beter to include the three of them. I don't know about "Singam", but there is a Hindi film series named "Singham". ~Rajan51 (talk) 17:00, 1 May 2017 (UTC)

Great!! I understand now. But, if you look at the language order under those two movies, somebody has put Telugu first when in reality, it should be Tamil that should go up first since it is essentially made in Tamil first. It was shown as Telugu, Tamil, Hindi. It should be corrected to Tamil, Telugu, Hindi. I just want this to be edited to avoid confusions among viewers. I would appreciate this to be fixed. In the meantime, thanks for your swift reply :) :) Calculatornumber (talk) 16:31, 2 May 2017 (UTC)

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion

Hi, regarding this edit, I have restored the original after many attempts to phrase it correctly. Your version, which reads "Within India, it set many films records, becoming the highest grossing film in Telugu and Tamil as well as in its dubbed Hindi language" is confusing, and gives the wrong impression that the film was the highest grossing only among dubbed Hindi versions, while it was the highest amongest all Hindi films. Since the first paragraph clarifies, "The Conclusion was made simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil and later dubbed into Hindi, Malayalam and Japanese", it shouldn't be much of a problem.
