Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Oliver Moheda edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Oliver Moheda, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Managing a conflict of interest edit

Hello, Punk Rock London. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Oliver Moheda, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Wikishovel (talk) 11:09, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

A note on deletion discussions edit

So far, some of your editing has been disruptive. You have placed templates on pages indicating that the result of the discussion was 'keep when no such decision has been made. It is not your decision to make whether the article is kept or deleted. There will be a discussion and, after a week, the article will be kept or deleted depending on the consensus. Falsely placing templates prematurely stating the outcome of the discussion, especially given your conflict of interest, is disruptive and I caution you not to do it again. TornadoLGS (talk) 02:02, 6 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

It also appears that you have logged out comment on the discussion. This is not allowed. If this sort of behavior continues, you may be blocked from editing. TornadoLGS (talk) 02:06, 6 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Sophie Lloyd edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sophie Lloyd requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Cut-and-paste page move edit

Hello! What you did with "First Avenue Records" and "First Avenue Management" is called a "cut-and-paste page move" and should never be done on Wikipedia. (The revision history of the article "First Avenue Records" credits its authors. It is forbidden to take someone else's article and paste it into a new place. Read Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia#Repairing cut-and-paste moves of a page, for example.)
I have compared the two articles, and they are exactly the same. I will now undo your edits. If you want the "First Avenue Records" renamed to "First Avenue Management", you can request a page move. See WP:RSPM. --Moscow Connection (talk) 23:21, 13 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

"Pop-punk" and "5Angels" edit

Hello, I'm Moscow Connection. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Pop-punk, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you.

You should familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's rules and not add unsourced content as you did here and here.

I don't get it. Did you even read what what you wrote in "Pop-punk"" The result was: "An article by Kerrang! credited Machine Gun Kelly as well as Yungblud and As December Falls are bringing the genre back to mainstream attention." It’s ungrammatical. And the source doesn't even mention the band As December Falls. Did you simply want to link that new article you created? --Moscow Connection (talk) 00:03, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Yes I wanted to create a new article but I didn’t know how so that way is the only way that allows me to create a new page, Sorry I’m new could you teach me to create a new article without having to link it to a name already in Wikipedia, Many thanks and sorry about that, I’m learning. Punk Rock London (talk) 00:39, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
You can use the search bar to search for the title of the (as yet nonexistent) article, at which point there will be a prompt asking if you want to create it. Alternatively, you can insert the redlinks in your userspace instead of article space. Fermiboson (talk) 00:51, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
As Fermiboson said. Try using the search bar for something like "Fsdfsdfds". The page doesn't exist, so the "Search results" page will have this message: "The page "Fsdfsdfds" does not exist. You can create a draft and submit it for review, or you may create the page "Fsdfsdfds" directly."
And... Maybe that's a bad or dangerous advice, but... You can just click "Edit" anywhere on this page and write "[[Fsdfsdfds]]". If you have the visual editor enabled, you'll see the red link immediately. (And if you have it disabled, just click "Show preview" instead of "Publish changes". The page won't actually be saved.) --Moscow Connection (talk) 01:17, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia and copyright edit

Hello Punk Rock London! Your additions to As December Falls have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Wikishovel (talk) 10:21, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Jacob Hansen edit

Hello Punk Rock London, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Jacob Hansen, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jacob Hansen.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|BuySomeApples}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Tags edit

Hello! I wonder why you placed so many tags on the articles "Kéllé Bryan" and "Vernie Bennett". Including {{Undisclosed paid}}? I think that shouldn't be done without explaining your reasoning in the edit summary or on the talk page.

Really, why {{COI}} and {{Undisclosed paid}}? Dou you have some information about the editors who created the articles?

And, by the way, Kéllé Bryan has charted as a solo artist with her single "Higher than Heaven". See WP:MUSICBIO #2, she is notable.

I just wonder... Could it be that you "mimic" someone who has placed some tags on your articles?... Yes, I know some Wikipedia editors like "tag bombing", it is not polite of them. --Moscow Connection (talk) 10:27, 25 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Exactly that some editors have been taking advantage of me because I’m new by placing so many tags on my articles including to delete them and after that the articles has been voted to keep so that’s not right at all, Thank you for your advice though Punk Rock London (talk) 13:48, 25 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of City of the Weak edit

Hello Punk Rock London,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged City of the Weak for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

December 2023 edit

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Decline reason:

First, that remark at the AfD was not intended as a serious statement on whether you were paid (while I agree that your edits are not very high quality, there have been cases in the past where people have gotten paid for worse. And to be fair, I salute you for taking a disparaging remark like that and trying—emphasis trying—to turn it to your advantage. But that does not go far enough to unblock).

Second, though, our conflict of interest policy (short version) is very clear that money need not change hands for there to be a conflict of interest. If you do it at their behest for no consideration whatsoever, or if there's some really close connection like a family member or something, you will also run afoul of it.

Third, making a personal attack on a third party in an unblock request is never going to impress a reviewing admin.

Fourth, not only did it show a failure to assume good faith, it was a particularly scabrous personal attack, so egregious that we had to hide it from public view and only administrators can see it. You are now in the unenviable position where your conduct after getting blocked is an even stronger justification for an indefinite block than what you did to get the block in the first place. You have demonstrated unequivocally that you have serious issues that would be incompatible with editing Wikipedia productively.

And I reiterate Bbb23's warning below ... if you do these things again in another unblock request, that will be it for your access to this page (you would still be able to request unblock, but it would have to be private). — Daniel Case (talk) 10:51, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
