Rule Suggestions

Welcome!

Hello, PokestarFan, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Linking to other pages, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! –Roscelese (talkcontribs) 19:02, 12 December 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Linking to other pages

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that the page you created was tagged as a test page under section G2 of the criteria for speedy deletion and has been or soon may be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. –Roscelese (talkcontribs) 19:02, 12 December 2015 (UTC)

Help!

How do you make a table of contents?

PokestarFan (talk) 22:48, 12 December 2015 (UTC)

There's generally no need to create a table of contents; one is created automatically as soon as an article has four sections. See WP:Cheatsheet on how to create section headings. Huon (talk) 22:50, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
Thank you.PokestarFan (talk) 22:52, 12 December 2015 (UTC)

Display a WIP Banner

How do you make a banner on the front of a page saying "WIP:Work In Progress"? Thanks. PokestarFan (talk) 23:43, 12 December 2015 (UTC)

There's {{Under construction}} and {{Inuse}}, depending on how long the work in progress is expected to take. If you want to create a new article, however, I'd advise you not to use those templates but to use the Article Wizard to create a draft instead of a live article. Huon (talk) 23:55, 12 December 2015 (UTC)

Security Permissions

What are the requirements to be able to edit the security permissions on pages? I want to make it so only I can edit my sandbox and user page. PokestarFan (talk) 00:56, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

That is not possible. There is no lock on Wikipedia whereby only you can edit it. There are locks that restrict certain groups, some more exclusive than others such as WP:ADMIN, but there are none that would allow only you. You can find out more information at WP:PP. Mkdwtalk 01:04, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

Photo

I would like to dispay a photo of myself, how do I do that?

You take a selfie, then make it so it's okay for others to distribute, modify, and sell it by uploading it to Wikimedia Commons. --I dream of horses If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{Ping|I dream of horses}} to your message. (talk to me) (My edits) @ 03:31, 15 December 2015 (UTC)

InfoBox

I want to make a box that shows the amount of edits, articles deleted, status, etc. How do I do this?

Hello, you can visit this page for many types of personal statistics including edit count, articles creted, vandalism counts(how many times your userpage has been vandalised) etc. Hope that helps with your problem! Zyc1174 (talk) 02:18, 15 December 2015 (UTC)

Collabration

I want to make an article, but I want some help. How can I have others collabarate with me?PokestarFan (talk) 18:29, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

You can use the Article Wizard to create a draft and ask for help at a relevant WikiProject. Huon (talk) 21:02, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

December 2015

Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Clash of Clans does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! Class455fan1 (talk to me) 00:15, 13 December 2015 (UTC)

Cross namespace redirects

Please review our guidelines and policies on cross-namespace redirects. I have deleted the redirects you created to your userpage under WP:R2. Mkdwtalk 03:41, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

Help name spaces use the WP prefix for shortcuts. Please see WP:SHORTCUTS. I've had to nearly undo or delete every contribution you've done outside your userspace. Please be advised that this is a warning that if you continue to create shortcuts or edit whereby it is subsequently reverted, it may be seen as WP:DISRUPTION and you may be blocked under WP:CLUE. I ask you to carefully read the relevant policies before you proceed into any functionary tasks on Wikipedia. Mkdwtalk 03:19, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
Further, I suggest you read WP:MOS about how to correctly use wikilinks. They shouldn't link into the same article even if in the infobox. Mkdwtalk 03:24, 15 December 2015 (UTC)

December 2015

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Involuntary euthanasia, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Mkdwtalk 20:24, 18 December 2015 (UTC)

Wikipedia and copyright

Hello PokestarFan, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your addition to commons:File:BloonsTDBattlesGameplay.jpg has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mkdwtalk 20:26, 18 December 2015 (UTC)

December 2015

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for persistent disruptive editing. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Mkdwtalk 00:54, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
  • PokestarFan, I hope you take this opportunity to review your talk page and read through many of the warnings and comments that have been left here. The vast majority of your contributions have either needed to be reverted or deleted. I generally believe you have good intentions, but for one reason or another, you've disregarded reading any of the relevant policies that have been linked to you. The cleanup has been quite extensive and if you continue to edit without following the rules, then you may be blocked indefinitely under WP:COMPETENCE. Mkdwtalk 01:05, 19 December 2015 (UTC)

New Year's Resolution

I will try not to be as disruptive or make copyright violations

ClueBot III

How can I get cluebot to archive all the sections after there are 10 of them? They can be any number of days old as long as there are 10. Is this is possible? PokestarFan (talk) 16:58, 1 January 2016 (UTC)

See this page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:ClueBot_III). I don't think its possible that they can be any number of days old before they get archived, because one of the required fields is "Age", and this can be how many hours a section is left unanswered before it gets archived. Hope this helps. Class455fan1 (talk to me) 17:25, 1 January 2016 (UTC)
@Class455fan1: I believe you would use the field "minarchthreads=10". Mkdwtalk 21:09, 1 January 2016 (UTC)

Finding subpages

Is there a quick way to find all the subpages that are within my userspace? Thanks. This is PokestarFan's signature. I have commented on your page. My Talk My Blocks Time is: 00:04, 8 January 2016 (UTC)

On your contributions page at the bottom is a link that says Subpages. That will bring you here which will list all the subpages of your user space. You can then toggle between user space and user talk space or just go here to see all the subpages of your user talk space. --Majora (talk) 00:22, 8 January 2016 (UTC)

Coor

Can I get a editnotice template(with colors) so that I can tweak it? I really don't understand the styling in HTML and Wikipedia.

Mine has colours, but I don't know if that's what you are looking for. --kelapstick(bainuu) 02:24, 9 January 2016 (UTC)

ClueBot III

I want ClueBot to skip archiving the thread "People who edit my userspace" but archive everything else. How di I do that?

You can try Template:Do not archive until. --kelapstick(bainuu) 02:24, 9 January 2016 (UTC)

People who edit my userspace

Put your name here if you edit my userspace, not my user talk space.

ANI

There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. --allthefoxes (Talk) 03:31, 9 January 2016 (UTC)

  • The discussion is about WP:NOTHERE, specifically, if you're here to use Wikipedia as a social network or if you are actually improving our beautiful project. There are two ways to balance your contributions, which currently are almost all to your talk page: a. make fewer talk page edits. This is not Facebook. b. make more edits to article. This is an encyclopedia. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 03:57, 9 January 2016 (UTC)

Blocked

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Okay, I will try and work on articles. I know a lot about games

Decline reason:

I think you should take a look at WP:STANDARDOFFER. That'll be the best way for you to go about regaining editing status. only (talk) 14:25, 9 January 2016 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Consider the Standard Offer

Hey Pokestar. You were blocked for being not here, mostly since all your edits were to your user talk page. Your ban is indefinite, and the only way to be unbanned at this point is to take WP:OFFER - Yet today I see you making even more edits to your talk page, which shows other editors you do not understand why you have been blocked. I think you should highly consider taking the standard offer if you wish to contribute again. --allthefoxes (Talk) 02:14, 11 January 2016 (UTC)

Request reason:

I want to make Wikipedia a better place. Next time I am blocked,I am okay by bring blocked indefinately. I promise to use my Talk Page for official reasons. I will archive me user page and include only the vital info. Also,I want to work on the articlevShare as a draft.

Decline reason:

I think you missed the "6 months" part of WP:STANDARDOFFER. Furthermore, I see no evidence whatsoever that you're here to build an encyclopedia. There are plenty of other sites for this sort of thing (Tumblr? Minecraft?) OhNoitsJamie Talk 00:04, 14 January 2016 (UTC)
