This is really easy. Wikilinks that exist on Wikipedia are blue while the ones that do not exist are red.

Using visual mode, you can add a link to a Wikipedia page by highlighting the word and click the link icon( an icon on the edit bar that looks like an infinity icon).

Using Source mode, you can add [[ before the text, and add ]] after the text. Make sure to check on the preview page if it linked correctly.

As a new editor with a registered account, you might not be able to edit all Wikipedia articles. This way, Wikipedia can ensure these articles are protected from vandalism.

If you are looking for articles to edit, try checking Category:Wikipedia articles needing copy edit. This is a list of articles needing correction and should be easy for new editors.@ Prithee P (talk) 10:54, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

Another tip to note is that you should try to increase your edit counts - at least 10. A Wikipedia editor with at least 10 edit counts has access to edit more articles than an editor with zero edit counts.

A reminder: try to make sure you are logged in before editing any page on Wikipedia (talk page included). That way, any activity you do will be accounted for under your username rather than your IP address.

Regarding the article, you will need to have made at least 10 edit counts before you can edit or contribute certain Wikipedia pages.

My guess is that your comment didn't even get published. My reason is because I could not find it in your edit history. While it is great that you want to contribute to an already existing article, this article has been edited by countless editors over time and has been locked to prevent vandalism.

I would suggest you start your journey on Wikipedia by making little edits such as grammar, style, tone, or typos. The benefit of this is that you will get to understand how Wikipedia works as well as boost your edit count.

Dear Prithee thank you for your reply. I do not really have time to be a regular contributor to Wikipedia, it was only that particular instance that I objected to. I am glad I was able to help. Contributing to Wikipedia does not have to be a full-time thing. You can make little changes, but here on Wikipedia, those are major, as Wikipedia would be nothing without volunteers like you and me.

I was unaware that it was before you set up your account. If you edited without an account, it was probably saved with your IP address, or it was not saved at all. Let me know which of these pages it is

Meanwhile, do bear in mind that edits made by IP addresses especially fby irst -timers,are sometimes suspected fofvandalism.
