Deleted Text

How long do we wait to hear what people have to say about the text I removed? The text dates back to a version of the article that was much less professional (rife with blatant mistakes I've since corrected), and I don't think its age should speak to its value. Jenna Bush artical

FYI, Dinkytown is assuming - errantly I believe - that 74.224.113.172 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) and Sweet-pea-1981 (talk · contribs) are the same person. 74.224.113.172 made an edit that changed up some Hager vs. Bush naming as well as inserted some crap about sex appeal and abortion. 74.224.113.172's edit was rightly reverted. Sweet-pea-1981 saw the Hager vs. Bush changes - which he has opined on in the past - and reverted back, probably not realizing that the sex appeal/abortion crap was re-added as well. 74.224.113.172 then left the snarky message on Dinkytown's talk page, not Sweet-pea-1981, but Dinkytown is treating them as the same person. Sweet-pea-1981 has a spotless record here and I seriously believe just got confused, missing the full extent of the large edit. —Wknight94 (talk) 03:58, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

There were many errors in edits made in April, May and June, so I reverted the article to the last which was generally accurate. Have you read Christy Canyon's biography or any of the references? Re: Gale nye attack page

Hey Nuclear. Just a suggestion. When dealing with vicious attack pages such as the above, especially when there are prior warnings on the user's talk page use a much stronger warning (I would actually start with a final warning). Article 3

Article 3 definitely needs improvement, but so does the rest of Article 1, all of Article 2, and virtually every other article in the project involving the law. Article 3 was somewhat lower on my own list of concerns, if only because sequentially it comes later. Also, I can see where many things in Article 3 (e.g., standing, "abstention," sovereign and 11th Amendment immunity, etc.) would be extremely difficult to describe for a non-legal audience, making me feel somewhat recalcitrant to tackle it when there are other things to attend to. I did some pretty extensive revising of sections 1-4 of Article 1 of the US Constitution, although I'm sure there is more work to be done. Generally speaking, I would like everything to look like that (although, I admit that part of that may be driven simply by the fact that I like my own work). My overarching goal has been to try and touch on the most significant aspects of each clause's impact on the governance structure of the federal government, as well as the top doctrinal areas. I am increasingly of the opinion that the text I wrote for Art. I, Sec. 1, probably needs to be reduced/condensed in some fashion, and then reproduced in more detail at a separate article on the Legislative Vesting Clause. I see there is already an article for the "Vesting Clauses" generally, but each of them is relatively rich and could be discussed at length.

As is, I think, pretty normal, I work on this in spurts and as the "bug" bites me. I have not approached my contributions with any particular discipline; for example, I was working on Article One for a while, and then sorta got distracted by the Preamble (which still occupies my mind). LegalWikiPro

Hey! I'm a noob, so I hope I'm doing this right. Here's the entry I placed on the discussion page at LegalWikiPro, in response to your edit....

I am the owner of the LegalWikiPro site. I wrote this entry because I wanted to get this new Wiki mentioned on Wikipedia's list of external wiki sites. I patterned the entry on Jurispedia's entry. I am aware of Wikipedia's NPOV rules and do not want to violate their "advertising" guidelines. I have made some edits that, hopefully, help in that regard. Since LegalWikiPro is my "baby," I realize I may not be the best person to do the N in NPOV - so I submit this content to the editorial wisdom of the community.

I'm stooopid...so I'm all ears on how to do this right.  :)

It just seemed to me that some of their last edits may have been genuine attempts to edit constructively although I suspect they may have just been to make themselves look better. Personally I wouldn't have reported him quite yet (probably one more edit) but I have no problem with you doing so - everyone has slightly different levels and I think I'm probably a bit more lenient than most so IMO, it's still a good block. Reversions using Twinkle.

You reverted this edit using Twinkle's vandalism rollback. Whether you agree with it or not, the edit could not in any way be considered vandalism. Be careful how you use Twinkle and how you label edits. If you get in the habit of using vandalism rollback in place of the undo button, they'll yank your Twinkle privileges pretty quickly.

As for the edit itself, I believe I was correct but please discuss it on the talk page of that article if you feel that material should be added. The paragraph, as written violated WP:BLP, was blatantly POV and was not supported by verifiable references (its only source was an opinion piece which didn't even mention most of the claims that the paragraph made). --Loonymonkey (talk) 17:01, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

I do remember that edit. I remember hitting the antivandal edit and then going "shoot shoot!" and hitting the regular rollback edit. Hancock

Hello, I've been involved in writing one of the sections of the Hancock article. Would you point out what in particular seems inappropriate about the tone? The tone in the plot article was what I most noticed. It seemed too "in-universe" for me. I'll point out some examples.

• "After emphatically asking her permission to touch her, explaining that it is not sexual" - That was 10 seconds of humor in the movie
• "Ray teaches Hancock to make the compliment "Good job!" to the police." - Doesn't that appear later?
• "John Hancock (Will Smith) is a well-known man living in Los Angeles, with supernatural powers such as being very strong, invulnerable and being able to fly. He regularly saves lives and catches criminals. On the other hand, in doing so he causes a lot of material damage. Also he is an alcoholic, and he is rude. He has been issued a subpoena many times, but never shows up." - Could be rewritten as "John Hancock (Will Smith) is a well-known vigilante superhero who lives in Los Angeles. However, Hancock's reckless actions routinely cost the city millions of dollars, as Hancock is nearly always drunk while attempting to capture criminals. Hancock, however, does not care what the city thinks, and routinely ignores subopoenas and talks rudely to strangers."

Lata Mangeshkar's past has been hidden I have posted some details about her childhood

Once some body becomes popular and a celebrity he/she has to change his/her past and hide the irrelevant aspects.

Need to add the fact her father died at a premature age (conflict of dates/ages in article, as per story goes he died when she was 5 years) and being the daughter of the second wife (an intercaste marriage) nobody came to their assistance. In that time the wife and five childrem were abandoned. Lata's father's best friend Damodar Mirajkar (he was a play writer in Kolhapur and actor/director) took care of them in Kolhapur in Raviwar Peth, Kolekar Thiti for the rest of the years till the age 13, her musical breakthrough when she went to Mumbai for her first Playback recording. (Later Lata took all her family members and they settled in Mumbai.)

Mirajkar gave free accomodation and sometimes food as there was no actual income except for the money her mother would get for stitching clothes in that period of her life. She would go house to house sitting the whole day stitching all the garments of the rich house holds to earn a meager 3 "rupaya" and some "annas". We know this because we are distant relatives of her mother the whole entire family knows this. Nobody brought up the topic thats all it was kept hidden.

Never was there any acknowledgement of this at all. Mirajkar's daughter Kamal Mirajkar(who played as extras in films and in theatre- ie Ram Ram Gangaram (marathi)) would come to Lata's assistance and sometimes take care of her siblings when Lata and mother were out earning, she even cradled the young Asha.

One day a tantric Baba/palmist came to the street of Kolhapur. He told the future of many people. Lata was singing in the street as people threw coins, she made money like this for a living initially to support her family, brother/sisters. Somebody asked the palmist to take Lata's hand and read it too. The Baba/palmist said this girl is going to be the most famous person in India and world and will have success in the music industry.

Damodar would ask her to pay the rent of 5 rupees/month, but they did not have enough to pay and there was no other place for them to go to, nobody would take them in. Conflicts took place about their situation. People didn't like that they were living there also, some body wanted to keep her mother and all that stuff. Widows were considered taboo. What became of her mother's parents is unknown. ( I PLAN TO MAKE VISIT TO DAMODAR'S HOUSE next month AND ASK THE DETAILS the names you have may be wrong,I WILL GIVE ORIGINAL DATA HERE.) So, D. Mirajkar came to their safety as people and society were cruel and he opted to protect his late best friend's family instead of exposing them to the real cruel world. After some years people approached her to sing, she bagged a contract in Mumbai. That was when she decided to leave Kolhapur for good to escape and totally forget the misery. Damodar begged her and the family to stay back and visit them again but they left anyways and never heard of them again. Only through songs and videos. Lata'a father died soon after her last sibling's birth. No money was saved no inheritance. The father being in the theatrical field often exposed himself to the habits of alcohol, drugs and women. Which eventually took his toll.

I myself have met Damodar Mirajkar he died in 1974 at the age of 90+. So this is how I know this all. These are all facts. This is an encyclopedia so why write false? So this is why I make an entry of it. Also the people who know this will not be around anymore and the proof would be forgotten and nobody would know. Even that Asha Bhonsle doesn't know this story because she left Kolhapur when she was a small child. Even if you were to approach them they will deny ever living in Kolhapur. Once my father vsited New York in USA where Lata had a concert. He went to the stadium to get free tickets or to see if he could get entry atleast. He told who he was but nobody cared and nobody reacted and my father was shown the exit too. So much for taking care of people in poverty.

Later the Mirajkar family too went to poverty nobody cared for them and nobody fed them. I think it was shocking that this could happen to them. Many years went maybe 20 before they could actually come back to be atleast a middle class family they struggled alone to make ends meet. Not once did the Mangeshkar family pay a visit to Kolekar Thiti, nor once did they come to their assistance those days. That is why I write it here and make the points clear. People say why did you ever even help them in the first place. I am not here to defame them or make fun just simple controversy and thriller of the facts, to add some "masala".

I write this stuff and somebody wants proof there is no proof except what I write here. Go and put Lata on a Psycho-analysis machine or lie detector test etc., and then you will get the proof thats all I can say. If you want to debate this contact me on sush1624s@yahoo.com. I am willing, but don't want any hate mail from anybody. Come on this is proof Mirajkar family is a distant relative of Lata's mother the same caste. I am also related to them, Why would I waste time and write all this bull, if it wasn't true.

It was a shame that nobody from Mangeshkar's family took care of them. I'snt that shocking? Why didn't they? It was all about caste and creed that time nobody wanted to take care of them,a lower caste family perhaps. Now Lata has probably made a "will" for all the Mangeshkar people to inherit all she ever earned. What a bunch of hypocrites! Nobody likes her from our end and nobody in Kolhapur either atleast my family don't, I am not thrilled about her except about what I write now. You all others like her voice and like her singing and give her awards it means nothing to us. The meta-drama ("Kurt is an ass etc." - "Leave him alone etc.!" - "Leave me/us alone etc.!" - etcpp.) is of course utterly unuseful, but I believe it's important to point out, not only or maybe not even predominantly for Kurt but for other (especially inexperienced) editors inhowfar exactly a particular oppose of Kurt is invalid in a particular RfA. Indeed I think that not repying to an invalid oppose of him is almost as bad as the drama we've seen. We should strive for the sensible middle-ground and demonstrate that first and foremost, RfA is a discussion with the aim to determine consensus, and we should therefore demonstrate good argumentation even, and particularly, in the face of half-baked reasoning by someone. It's not a big deal, it just seemed strange to see you say "this is your last warning" and "thank you for your contributions" to the same user at almost the same time. My Username and Revisions to article about "Grace Church, Newark"

I am "Bruce E. Ford." I have used my real name because I believe that it adds credibility to what I have written about Grace Church in Newark. I am the senior warden at Grace Church as well as the church's Web master. I included in the article some text from the Grace Church Web site; but I am the author of the text, and, consequently, there can be no question of copyright infringement.

The page that I edited was a stub. I expanded it considerably. I do not understand why my revisions have not yet appeared, because more than thirty hours have elapsed since the time I began work on the page. Has someone placed some kind of interdict on my editing because of my user name.

How much authority can one attribute to unsigned encyclopedia articles or to articles signed with unrecognizable pseudonyms?

What about an encyclopedia article might invite harassment?

Well, I looked at the contribution log and is this or perhaps this roughly what you wrote? Because it is up on the page and no one has touched it.

Also, you mentioned that you are the copyright holder to your church's website. However, even with you claiming you are the copyright holder, we still need some kind of verification. The best form of confirmation would be a GFDL-compatible license on your website. [Wikipedia:Text of the GNU Free Documentation License|This]] is an example of Wikipedia's GFDL license. Yours doesn't have to be nearly as complicated; one like this one should be more than sufficient.

Now as for your username: The Wikimedia Board has no problem with people using their real name on Wikipedia. However, in the past, we have had problems with online stalkers, identity thieves, etc. Using a pseudonym or changing your username would be an easy way to prevent an unlikely situation. I have not yet learned how to address a message on my user page to you. I posted one message, and it appears as text addressed to all the world. Without reference to your message it makes no sense. I'll have to study the protocols.

You wrote that my revisions were "up on the board" unchanged. Yet when I search under "Grace Church, Newark," I find the original text untouched.

I'm not sure what the implications of placing a general license to reproduce and alter text on the parish Web site might be. Therefore, the best solution, I think, is for me to rewrite the text in the Wikipedia article. Will that be OK?

I am now at work and will have to defer study of the "talk page" protocols until this evening. I wanted, however, to reply to your helpful message.

For future reference, this is how: Since Wikipedia has no private messaging system, the best way is to write a section called ==re: User:NuclearWarfare== and type there, and then write {{talkback|Bruce E. Ford}} on my userpage

The reason I told you about licensing is because Wikipedia does not allow people to post copyrighted information on it. The information either would have to be rewritten or given a fair use license. You can choose to do either.

regarding your speedy delation message

I moved the message you left and the discussion it generated to Talk:Norbert M. Samuelson. By the way, this guy is really, really accomplished (two books published by Cambridge University Press, now just how many academics can claim that.). Since I had already placed his university webpage in the original article, you must not have looked at it. It's a short, single page. Anyway, maybe I'm too sensitive, but I do sort of feel like it's borderline harrassment. On the Nuthatch page you changed the capitalisation as above. When used in a species name it is not capitalised, so please review this edit. "citation needed" on David Slater page

Nuclear,

It will be very difficult to add a citation to the information about my therapy. What exactly are you looking for? Obviously counseling sessions are a private matter. Some of it took place while I was in prison, at other times I was at a therapist's office.

That I am again working in music will be evident by the link to the MySpace page.

What can we do to remove the "citation needed" thing?
