Savarkar

edit

Hello, and thanks for your interest in editing the article about Savarkar. For such a high-profile article, an old biography is likely not to be an ideal source. Also, large changes to the article, such as you have made, require WP:CONSENSUS. Please discuss your changes on the talk page before continuing to make them. Best, Vanamonde (Talk) 20:02, 19 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Vanamonde93 the Correct Biography is important. Old or New does not matter. If Dr Dhananjay Keer is a Padmashree Award Winner then he is a writer of repute. moreover he wrote Savarkar's Official biography. Moreover I am giving you the reference of who called Savarkar as Veer for the first time which was author Sadashiv Rajaram Ranade then why do you deny it? Ranade's biography on Savarkar was endorsed by prominent personality Shri N.C Kelkar who wrote the preface of the book.
Veer Savarkar lived from 1883 to 1966 hence contemporary writers of his era who met him are also relevant. Nikhilc83 (talk) 20:07, 19 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
The "official" biography has no more status on Wikipedia; indeed, depending on what "official" means in this case, it's not unlikely it's a less reliable source, as it may not be independent of its subject. Regardless, now that you have been reverted, this is something you need to discuss on the article's talk page. The Ranade issue is more straightforward; his writing cannot verify that he used the term "Veer" for the first time, only that he used it. A different source is needed for the claim you added. Please read WP:OR and WP:RS carefully before further editing this article. Vanamonde (Talk) 20:14, 19 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Vanamonde93 the original reference of Savarkar using the epithet Veer for himself is unfounded as the epithet was given by Sadashiv Rajaram Ranade for the first time to him. Nikhilc83 (talk) 20:18, 19 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Secondly sources from Padmashree awardee Dr Dhananjay Keer's Savarkar's biography must be included given his accolades. Dr Keer is a Padmashree award winner. which of the other sources quoted on the page are Padmashree awardees? Nikhilc83 (talk) 20:20, 19 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
The article at no point said he used it for himself. You have once again added content not supported by the source, and added dreadfully formatted content. Please read WP:NOR and WP:CITEHOW and WP:CONSENSUS; continuing to force through your version is likely to lead to your being blocked. Vanamonde (Talk) 20:21, 19 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Vanamonde93 Sir, on what grounds will I be blocked. I am not forcing through my own version. i am giving you the best sources on the topic like Padmashree Award Winner like Dr Dhananjay Keer's books. Is it wrong to provide certified sources of information? Nikhilc83 (talk) 20:23, 19 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
You will be blocked if you persist in not formatting your content, and by engaging in original research, which you have done again [1] after I twice told you what the problem was. Vanamonde (Talk) 20:30, 19 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Vanamonde93 i am not a computer programmer myself so am not good at coding. But yes, I am very well informed and have the best and most authentic sources to refer. if you have an email id i can email you my edits, links to archives and valid screenshots from books I quote. i think that will help you organize details instead of me trying edits and providing you unformatted information. Please share me your email id. Nikhilc83 (talk) 20:34, 19 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
I will not be doing that. You are obligated to format your additions correctly. I have twice given you a link to a page explaining how to format your citations. I do so now for a third time: WP:CITEHOW. I have also told you twice that using Ranade's book to claim Ranade gave Savarkar his title is prohibited original research. I'm getting a little tired of repeating myself, so I'm going to step away from this conversation, but if you haven't a) formatted your changes correctly, b) used a better source in place of Ranade, and c) obtained consensus for your use of Keer, you can expect your content to be removed again; and if you continue to reinstate it, you are likely to face sanctions. Vanamonde (Talk) 20:46, 19 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Vanamonde93 ok, i will refer to the link of WP:CITEHOW shared by you and make edits as per your advice. Authentic details from the Veer Savarkar biography written by Padmashree awardee Dr Dhananjay Keer will be drafted in accordance with your policies of WP:CITEHOW. In reference to Ranade's source will rephrase the edit in acceptable terms as per your advice. Nikhilc83 (talk) 20:58, 19 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Trust this is acceptable Nikhilc83 (talk) 20:58, 19 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Your additions to Keer still require consensus, and as I have challenged them, you are obliged to obtain that consensus via talk page discussion. Vanamonde (Talk) 21:06, 19 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Vanamonde93 Dr Keer is a Padmashree award winner. Sir, on what basis are his views challenged considering that he holds one of the highest awards of India? Nikhilc83 (talk) 02:56, 20 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Please read WP:DUE and WP:RS. Vanamonde (Talk) 03:08, 20 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
