You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Desperately Seeking-Explicit(DSE) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. reddogsix (talk) 01:31, 16 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Regarding your submission

edit

Greetings. I do see your point of view. She is well featured with deep media coverage. However, I personally see that she doesn't exactly fulfill WP:ARTIST. Or perhaps you can add in more information about her. Eg. which and what mv & fashion show did she designed for. You can have second opinions though, but you will have to post it at the AfC Helpdesk, link at the declination banner. I just feel that there can be more information elaborated about her on her career. Cheers and happy editing. EROS message 09:52, 7 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

How to semi protect a page on wikipedia?

You can use WP:RFPP to request a page to be protected. If you're asking about Nazmee Jannat, there doesn't seem to be a need for protection at this point. Huon (talk) 21:59, 2 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Notable alumni lists

edit

Hello. Your recent edit to North South University appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline.

The Dhaka Tribune article about the Pulitzer is sufficient evidence of notability and of connection to NSU to justify listing Mohammad Ponir Hossain. The Forbes 30 Under 30 list, however, is not sufficient evidence of notability, so Sajid Iqbal should not be listed. You may presume that people are notable if they have existing articles, but inclusion on an alumni list still requires a reliable, published source to demonstrate their connection to NSU. Their Wikipedia articles claim a connection, but cite no sources to prove it. --Worldbruce (talk) 19:13, 22 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Emonkhan (talk) 19:48, 22 June 2018 (UTC) Hello there, I got your point, adding a source that proves the notability of Sajid Iqbal, however would like to disagree about one issue that is- connection to NSU. The news source clearly says that Sajid completed his study from NSU. Emonkhan (talk) 19:48, 22 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

With regard to a connection with NSU, I was talking about Elita Karim and Topu. Every list entry needs to show two things: (1) that the person is notable (which generally requires three independent, in-depth, reliable sources), and (2) that the person is connected to NSU (this may be mentioned in one of the sources used for notability, or may require an additional source).
  • Mohammad Ponir Hossain can be shown to be notable with fewer than three sources because the Pulitzer is a major award that satisfies criterion 1 of WP:ANYBIO. One of the cited sources also mentions his connection to NSU.
  • Sajid Iqbal may be notable, but two sources about a 30 under 30 list and a Queen's Young Leader Award are not enough to demonstrate it. I agree that one source says Iqbal's an NSU alumnus. The missing part is convincing evidence of notability.
  • Elita Karim has an existing article, so may be assumed to be notable, but a source is needed to show a connection to NSU.
  • Topu has an existing article, so may be assumed to be notable, but a source is needed to show a connection to NSU.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Elita Karim during an interview with Daily Star.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Elita Karim during an interview with Daily Star.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:04, 4 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Aziz Ahmed (general), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page BGB (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Request reason:

I had no idea about the socket puppet's work, basically this is another user account used by another editor known to me. Never used any sock puppet and hopefully this was a mistake of the another editor. Previously two of my articles got removed but never used any other account to vote there. It can be checked using the activity log. The last action was unintended mistake and requesting to reconsider the block since it was the first of its kind. NeotheoneReal (talk) 08:19, 13 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Sockpuppetry was confirmed and is not in question. Yamla (talk) 12:42, 13 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
