Dan Hardy

Hello, I received a message regarding my changes to the Dan Hardy page saying it was vandalism. Though it was clearly a fine addition placing a DQ tab on Hardy's record because he has a DQ loss on his record. I see nothing wrong with that.

Template:WikiProject:Rowing listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Template:WikiProject:Rowing. Since you had some involvement with the Template:WikiProject:Rowing redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). Word Lens tone

Hi Nate1481!

You recently cleaned up some of the promotional tone in the Word Lens article - I really appreciate it. I'm quite excited about the program, and even though I tried to keep the neutral tone, apparently it didn't 100% work. I went over the article & tried to fix it up a bit more. If you feel like looking at it again and pointing places that need attention, I'd be happy to improve those. Neutral tone is what I'm trying to achieve.

By the way, I'm still relatively new to wikipedia & didn't figure our a way to meet other wikipedians in my city (Vancouver, Canada). Did you get to know anyone in your community? If yes, how?

Cheers, ~Zina~ (talk) 04:17, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Notable Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Practitioner page

Hey Nate, Can I get your advise/help with something? I feel like it might be time to create a list page for notable BJJ practioners similar to List of judoka page. I've started a draft in my sandbox off of that archetype. It's pretty much just a copy at this point and I haven't started on sourcing anything yet. Would you mind taking a look at it for me and see what you think? I'd certainly appreciate your input and direction good sir. Thanx.User:Buddy23Lee/Sandbox

Well good sir, it took a bit but I believe I may have the list in a more acceptable condition. Per your wise suggestion, I've added detail for each entry and a source from something more neutral then their academy webpage. Please let me know what you think. The only thing (I think) still pending is the categories which I'll add once it's ready for article space. As always, thanks! :) Buddy23Lee (talk) 23:09, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
Yea, it's certainly the case that my writing style is often anything but encyclopedic (as evidenced in my Bayocean, Oregon article.) Always feel free to delete/revise any of those words as I myself might not be able to clearly see them. I wasn't sure about the Practitioner verses Jiu-Jitsoka title for the page, but I'd agree that it's bit obscure. I actually came across the term while trying to find cites and wasn't sure if would be better or not. The only thing I'm not completely clear about is what type of intro you think would be good for the Highest Ranks section. Without deleting what you put in, I put my own ideas underneath. Let me know what you think, whether we should develop one or the other, combine the two, or you were thinking something totally different then what I was going for. Either way, thanx as always! Buddy23Lee (talk) 23:03, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
Hey that looks really good! At first I was a bit unsure of the intro paragraph on that section but now that it's there I must admit that you were right, per the norm. So what do you think? Is it roughly ready for article space yet? I know it has a thin amount of names currently but I'm hoping that some knowledgeable folks will slowly change that. Oh, and I completely hear you on the potential for self-added, unsourced, BJJ "grandmasters" with this list. I'm planning on keeping an eye on it over the long run to try and help with that. Buddy23Lee (talk) 18:53, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
Done and done! Once again, thanks for all your guidance! I'm kinda curious to see just what names are going to be added :) Buddy23Lee (talk) 18:14, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
