Deaf And Dumb Institution

edit

LISBURN ROAD< BELFAST. The Deaf and Dumb Institution. Photograph shown in - Walker, B,M. and Dixon, H. Early Photographs from the Lawrence Collection in Belfast Town 1864 - 1880.The Friar's Bush Press. Pls 18 and 19. Known not to exist now! Description given. Should this be included? and How? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Morton1945 (talkcontribs) 13:09, 9 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

See WP:REFB for how to include references in articles. As for the "should" part of your question, that is something that should be discussed on the relevant article's talk page. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, or Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 18:18, 10 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

(edit conflict) Hi. Could you clarify what you mean? Do you want to add a picture to the article? If so:
By the way, does the source you provided support the claim that the building is "well-designed and well built"? Please avoid introducing original research into articles. Thank you. — LauritzT (talk) 18:22, 10 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Cladode

edit

Have added "cladode" - a plant part to the reference of Cladode also an insect part.

My Question: "Cladode" is entered with and explanation as to what it means for an insect. How do I add the meaning as used for plants? I have tried but not as best entered!Morton1945 (talk) 20:32, 25 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Dark-World25. I noticed that in this edit to Skara Brae, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Dark-World25 (talk) 14:46, 27 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your edits to Exeter, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history, as well as helping prevent edit conflicts. The Show preview button is right next to the Publish changes button and below the edit summary field.

It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Suggestion: Use a search engine like Google or Duck Duck Go to find the book title. Then the distributor, such as Amazon, will list the correct ISBN. Thanks.S. Copeland Bird Observatory moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to Copeland Bird Observatory. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it needs more sources to establish notability. It is quite possible that there are enough in-depth independent sources to write an article about this observatory (it's old enough!) but these need to be shown and summarized in the article. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Elmidae (talk · contribs) 17:20, 28 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Little gull

edit

Hi Morton1945, I see you edited Little Gull to include North Carolina as a breeding location. I know a little about birds, even less about North American birds, but that struck me as odd, I see Little Gulls here in eastern Scotland mainly in late Summer and Autumn and they breed in Scandinavia, North Carolina would be very far south for a breeding record. I checked the Birds of North Carolina http://ncbirds.carolinabirdclub.org/view.php?species_id=283 and they do not list Little Gull as a breeding species and it is a lot rarer there than it is in Scotland where it is an occasional breeder. Quetzal1964 (talk) 06:20, 1 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. The book (Potters) refers to the little gull as "seen several times in north-eastern North Carolina" - not necessarily as a breeding species. I have made a short correction if you prefer to alter it please do! Morton1945 (talk) 14:50, 1 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
I was thinking of expanding the article to take a break from destubbing fish articles. Little Gull is one of my favourite species, relatively easy to see and identify but uncommon enough to be noteworthy. Quetzal1964 (talk) 18:39, 1 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
