Your submission at Articles for creation: The Search For Synergy (May 13)

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by ReaderofthePack was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: This doesn't pass notability guidelines at this point in time. To establish notability you need coverage in places that are independent of the author, publisher, and anyone affiliated with them, but they must also be a source that Wikipedia would consider reliable.

For example, while reviews can count towards notability, only a certain type of review is usable. Reviews on Amazon or social media type sites like Goodreads are not usable to establish this and by large are not considered to be relevant to Wikipedia unless it's covered heavily in the press. For an example of how social media and merchant reviews would be something that would be covered in an article, see the articles on Saving Christmas and Bend, Not Break.

Reviews on self-published sources like blogs are almost always going to be unusable, as most don't undergo the type of editorial oversight Wikipedia requires or are written by someone who would be considered a reliable source in and of themselves. To that end the one by Robichaud would likely not be considered a RS on Wikipedia since I can't see where the blog or Robichaud have been routinely covered in independent, reliable sources (particularly academic and scholarly sources) to be considered reliable.

You also want to avoid wikis as sources. These are user created and are not going to be seen as a reliable source. Even Wikipedia pretty much can't be used to source itself.

As far as other sources go, avoid using social media or merchant sources as sources. They're considered to be weak sources as a whole and in some cases can come across as promotional. With books it's best to cite the books themselves, rather than a merchant source, particularly as merchant/commerce sites tend to change often.

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Draft:The Search For Synergy. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Wikipedia is not a venue for promoting your books Theroadislong (talk) 18:08, 30 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button   located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 16:11, 2 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
