AfD nomination of Chris Arrowsmith

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Chris Arrowsmith. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chris Arrowsmith. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:10, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

2010 Olympics Parade of Nations Flagbearers

Thank you for making the article. However, is there a reason you didn't include Argentina, Bermuda, or Chinese Taipei? And are the two Koreas really marching in back to back? Where did you get all this, just out of curiosity. Smartyllama (talk) 22:14, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

About the Olympic Venue categories

On the 14th day of February, 2008, you posted the following message on my talk page:

FYI. I have been noticing that some category venues used for both the Summer Olympics and Winter Olympics have different names. All of the Winter games have YYYY Winter Olympics venues category listings while the Summer games either have YYYY Summer Olympics venues or Venues of the YYYY Summer Olympics except for the 2004 Summer Olympics which has Athens Olympics venues. Which way do you think needs to go? Chris (talk) 16:34, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

I replied to that question in July 2009, but you did not give me a response. Now it's been two years after you posted this message and I finally have an answer to it:

My choice for the Olympic venue category titles is "Venues of the YYYY Summer/Winter Olympics".

Olympic Venue categories after 2010 usually have "YYYY Summer Olympic venues". A more formal title for all of the Olympic Venue categories should be "Venues of the YYYY Summer/Winter Olympics" instead of "YYYY Summer Olympic venues". Jim856796 (talk) 23:08, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Where in Georgia?

I'm in metro Atlanta. How about you? And Clemson…I've driven by campus a couple of times on US 76, but I've never been on campus. I've been to away games when they've played at Georgia Tech and NC State, but never to their campus. —C.Fred (talk) 04:20, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Benjamin Koons

Hi, on Benjamin Koons, the last paragraph refers to someone named Silva. I'm not sure whther the fact is correct for Koons, or the line is leftover from someone else's article. Could you please take whatever remedial action is necessary? THanks! dramatic (talk) 23:07, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

re: Peer review request for Whistler Sliding Centre

I am requesting a peer review of The Whistler Sliding Centre. It has not appeared in the Peer Review list, but I have put it in. This will be on the list shortly.

Thanking you in advance. Chris (talk) 19:56, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

I'll be happy to review it, I am dealing with some RL concerns but will get to it hopefully tomorrow. H1nkles citius altius fortius 23:19, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
You are welcome. User:NVO did a review and I have made some adjustments from his remarks so far. Chris (talk) 23:23, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
I've finished the review, overall you've done a lot of work and that is to be commended. My biggest issue was with to much discussion about the safety issues. I felt that the information got repetitive. Take a look at my comments at Peer Review. If you'd like to discuss the review give me a poke on my talk page and we can discuss it on the article's peer review page. Well done. H1nkles (talk) citius altius fortius 17:04, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

GA nomination of Delta Upsilon

The article Delta Upsilon you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold  . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Delta Upsilon for things which need to be addressed. Chris (talk) 19:56, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

There were edits done, but the article was failed earlier today. Chris (talk) 22:32, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Is there a way to make more edits and resubmit it? Thank you for your advice, btw. --armoreno10 01:03, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
Yes, just follow the suggestions that were made in the GA1 and resubmit. When you do so, I will not check this and will let another user do this. I hope this helps. Chris (talk) 12:42, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Joe 90 GA assessment

Thanks for your review of this article. Most of the points raised have been addressed, or else I have responded to them. Unfortunately I'm not sure how some references are registering connection or deadlink issues — the links check out fine at this end. However, the problem references in question link to archive caches as their main URLs, which occasionally fail to load. SuperMarioMan 06:32, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Many thanks for passing the article. SuperMarioMan 13:44, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Looks good. Quick question - How many caution laps occurred and when in the race did they take place? This is not in the results section and it needs to be. This is the only thing missing from the article before I can approve it for GA. Chris (talk) 18:44, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
79 laps. --Nascar1996 18:47, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Romania in the Early Middle Ages

Hello. I believe you were too quick in promoting this article, and failed to note a serious reason to postpone it: it does not provide any page number in the citations. Please see my comments here. I feel that, if left at this stage, the article will be downgraded in due time, but will be unable to move on - since incomplete citations are inoperable. Dahn (talk) 21:03, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

But that's quite absurd: page numbers are not an FA requirement, they are a basic sourcing requirement. It is impossible (and unreasonable) that I should be expected to retrieve the exact info the author of the article had in mind, from books I have never read, just to make it stick by GA standards after it has been promoted. Also, my objection predated the GA promotion, and you had the opportunity to insert the issue of page numbers among your review topics. I don't want to get this article delisted if it can be improved to the actual standard, but it still should not have been promoted. Not in this state. Dahn (talk) 21:16, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

alt text for images

I saw you comments on the Peer Review of The Whistler Sliding Centre needing alt test for all images listed. Why is that? Would not the comments listed at the images themselves be sufficient enough? Chris (talk) 14:05, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

Hey thanks for the question. One of the FA criteria requires alt text. The captions may describe the picture but alt text is supposed to generically describe what the image looks like. Personally I don't like alt text and I find it cumbersome to put it on all the images. But it's one of the rules so I follow it but only when I'm trying to make an FA run. Best of luck to ya! GAN backlog elimination drive - 1 week to go

First off, on behalf of myself and my co-coordinator Wizardman, I would like to thank you for the efforts that you have made so far in this GAN backlog elimination drive. It has been nothing short of a success, and that is thanks to you. See this Signpost article about what this drive has achieved so far.

We're currently heading into the final week of the drive. At this time, if you have any GANs on review or on hold, you should be finishing off those reviews. Right now, we have more GANs on review or on hold than we do unreviewed. If you're going to start a GA review, please do so now so you can complete it by the end of the month and so that the nominator has a full 7-day window to address any concerns.

See you at the finish!
