NRL navboxes edit

Have reverted a couple of NRL navbox edits; North Queensland and the Panthers, reason being that the current squad setup standard has been in place for what looks like a good few years. Looking through the navboxes it would only be for single matches that a coach would go onto a separate line. Also the dividing produces a large gap in the two sets of names. The rlp is probably the place to go to look through the various navboxes in place and see whats what. This deal is getting worse all the time. (talk) 11:29, 13 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

2010 Penrith Panthers season edit

Glad to see another contributor to the cause. Look forward to working with you over the course of the season to create the best NRL season page of '10. Alrin (talk) 02:21, 26 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Greg Alexander, former Panther and current member of the Penrith Board of Directors, confirmed Peters' departure in his season preview [1] (included in the article is a complete list of gains and losses for 2010). Alrin (talk) 18:13, 3 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

A few points regarding the 2010 Penrith Panthers season and Penrith Panthers pages:

1) I have removed your mention of Phil Gould's preference of jersey worn for Triple M's Cancer Awareness fundraiser, for multiple reasons. Firstly, it doesn't count as an award or milestone (being the section in which you'd presented the information), and more importantly, it has no relevant bearing on the Penrith Panthers 2010 season. If anything, it's trivia that belongs on Phil Gould's personal wiki page.
2) The squad section of the main Panthers article is to display all the players currently under contract on the Panthers roster, not the weekly teams picked by the coach. The only time that section should need updating is if/when trades are made throughout the season. Likewise, the squad section of the season article should represent the entire squad, not just those on the pitch any given week (the article is a seasonal article, not a weekly article, and should display facts accordingly).

I commend your desire to contribute, but keep certain facts in mind when editing. Chief among them being an adherence to the Wikiproject's Manual of style (you can generally find an existing layout/format that is typically adhered to across the majority of NRL articles), and failing an appropriate example or referenced consensus, don't hesitate to ask your fellow editors for their opinion when making significant alterations to existing pages. This helps to prevent potential reverts or edit wars, and can help you gain invaluable experience with which to further your wikipedian career.

Any questions or comments, don't hesitate to ask. Remember that Wikipedia is a community and communication is vital to it's continuance. Alrin (talk) 18:13, 16 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Lote Tuquiri edit

Why do you insist on removing 2010 from his time at Leicester Tigers. He played until March 2010 as shown by the references given in the article. Please either explain why you think this is wrong - although I was at his last game against London Irish at the beginning of the month - or stop changing it. If you persist without showing why you think it is wrong I will regard the change is vandalism. noq (talk) 08:42, 30 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Ben McFadgean edit

The article Ben McFadgean has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Eeekster (talk) 03:09, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have noticed that you often delete things that are needed on pages like on NRL season results you seem to delete the trivia.

Please stop or this will be reported as vandalism.

mgt98

I'm just trying to delete some trivia for the best interest of the reader by noting records broken and milestones achieved during each round, rather than points of plain interest. Refs playing their 100th game is as hardly important than Hindmarsh breaking the club's record for most games, nor Melbourne coming back from 14-0 to win 14-20 is breaking any record or acheivements. There is also some inconsistencies on the page, like noting the Dragons winning their first two games in the season for the first time, then noting further on the Dragons winning their first three games for the first time.

On your point though, I don't think match officials reaching their personal milestones should be noted down as trivia, for one the reader might want to see the article on this referee before finding out there isn't any (there is very little content on referees in the NRL), but also trivial notes should be focused on the clubs and their players.

Your contributed article, Penrith Panthers Squad Line Up edit

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Penrith Panthers Squad Line Up. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Penrith Panthers. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Penrith Panthers - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Jminthorne (talk) 04:39, 5 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Michael Parker-Walshe edit

The article Michael Parker-Walshe has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Has not played first-grade football so fails WP:ATH

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Mkativerata (talk) 21:54, 13 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi there, I've removed the prod as it appears you are contesting it, so the deletion of the page will now be discussed here. Your input to that discussion is more than welcome. --Mkativerata (talk) 22:07, 13 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:M Parker-Walshe.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:M Parker-Walshe.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 2011 NRL season edit

I see you reverted my removal of the speculated transfers on this page without any discussion. How can you justify the incomplete list that seems to be in direct violation of WP:NOTCRYSTAL? Mattlore (talk) 05:05, 19 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hey, its okay - once signings have been confirmed they can be added back to the list. Mattlore (talk) 05:09, 19 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Lancen Joudo edit

Mate, a player has to have played first-grade football whilst at a side (in this case Penrith Panthers) for those statistics to appear in the infobox.

Thanks,
