Template discussion edit

I saw that you had participated in a previous discussion on NHL award templates. Just wanted to let you know that there is another discussion going on right now. - PM800 (talk) 11:31, 20 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Boston Bruins Stat Box edit

I was just wondering if you could explain to me what you meant during your edit on 2012–13 Boston Bruins season when you mentioned the "depreciation" of the previous format. I'm not saying there is a problem, I was just wondering if you could explain what you meant. Hydra88 (talk) 15:18, 20 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, the term I'd intended to use was "deprecated". I hadn't noticed my mistake until now. You might have noticed that the right side of the table isn't uniform with the rest of the border -- that is, the right hand side of the frame has a white background and a section of frame missing in the top corner. This wasn't previously the case (I know this for certain, since I coded the template originally for the 2008–09 season). It wasn't until a recent Wikipedia site update that the code I'd previously used became deprecated. After I noticed it I decided to adopt the layout currently used by most other NHL team season pages. I hope that clarifies things. Don't hesitate to message me again with further questions. I had not noticed this and still cannot see it. Could you please inform me of what browser and computer operating system you are using for this and could you also please describe where in the box there is an error? Thank you. Hydra88 (talk) 19:35, 20 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
I'm using Chrome through Windows. I don't know where in the raw code the error is (if I did I would attempt to fix it there), but in a visual sense the broken frame is on the right hand side of the stat box. It's particularly noticeable on the 08—09 page I linked above, but also visible on subsequent seasons. It runs the entire length of the stat box, from the sorting navigation at the top (GP, +/-, PIM, etc) to the team totals at the bottom and appears as a white section upon the gold background. On pages that don't have the tables combined (so every susequent year after 08—09) it also shows as a missing section of the outer border at the top right hand edge of the frame. At the end of the day I'm not particularly fussed about it, but it is clearly broken to me, hence why I made the change. Alrin (talk) 01:38, 21 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I see it in Chrome. Said issue did not appear in either Explorer or Firefox, which explains my confusion. I always thought that design looked cool and am sad to see it go. Any chance we could just put it back on the 2012–13 Boston Bruins page and then change it next year? We don't have to and I don't expect us to; I'm just asking. Hydra88 (talk) 18:59, 21 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
I didn't realise it was an issue confined only to Chrome. If that's the case then feel free to revert to the previous layout if you really prefer. I don't mind much either way, though there's a chance it will possibly be changed to the layout recently put forth by Canuckian as per a WP discussion that began here and was recently readdressed here (though it seems the initial discussion didn't concern Game Logs, but rather Navboxes, and so a Black on Yellow design may still stand). If it goes to a debate once more then I'll chime in with my support to keep the current colour scheme. Regards, Alrin (talk) 07:11, 22 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
