Moved to your userspace edit

Hi! I'm writing because I ended up removing the article for Hujan from the mainspace for several reasons. The first is that there was substantial amount of text taken from the two sources that was identical, enough to where it could have been removed as a copyvio. The second is that the article reads like it is a press release or promotional page for the band rather than a neutral and encyclopedic article. Phrases such as "their music alternates between the light, heavy and the torrential storm a reflection of the many stories, moods and agendas embedded in their songs" comes across like it was written by someone trying to write an article to sell the band (at worst) and at best, comes across like original research. Even if I didn't delete it based on the identical parts from the two websites listed, I could still have deleted it as a page that was written to be promotional for the band. I don't think that this was really your intent, to copyvio or write what looks to be a promotional article for the band, but the thing about Wikipedia is that intent doesn't always matter when it comes to deletion. You can have good intentions, but if the page has issues with it that could lead to it being immediately deleted, odds are that the page will be deleted.

Now the good news is that it does look like the band is notable, which is why I've transferred it to your userspace for you to work on. I'll try to work on this myself throughout the night if I can, so if you come back to discover that the page is not in your userspace, then it might be because I've fixed the issues with the article and have re-submitted it to the mainspace. In any case, I had to move it since I honestly thought that it would be deleted pretty quickly and the entire article pretty much needs to be re-written. Let me know if you have any questions. You can find the article at User:Manusiafaiz/Hujan (band). Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:29, 17 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • I also wanted to state that as far as reliable sources go, they have to be independent of the band itself. Meaning no press releases, no official websites, and no listings on pages such as MTV's database of performers. I noticed that you listed MTV Asia's musician database as a link. While a review from MTV would be usable, databases tend to just list people regardless of how well known they are. The only exception would be if MTV gave them an award and the database listed that award. It's one of the rare exceptions to this rule since MTV would be a reliable source when it came to information about their own awards, even if it was a database. Now when it comes to other sources, they have to be considered reliable. Blog entries cannot be used as a RS and the sources typically have to be news stories and reviews from trusted sources. From what I can see, a good example would be this story from Kosmo. The reliable sources noticeboard is a good place to bounce sources off as well. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:35, 17 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Ah! Another comment- when it comes to social media sites, we almost always never list them. The only time we do is if the person or group in question is so overly prevalent on the social media circuit that they have news stories talking about their social media presence. In this case I might add the MySpace link, but we should probably leave off most of the other links. The general consensus on this is that including all of those links resembles linkspam and for the most part, these links should all be available on the band's official webpage. • Reply: Thank you Tokyogirl79 for your consideration and help me build the articles. Manusiafaiz (talk) 04:59, 17 June 2013 (UTC)manusiafaizReply
  • It's no problem- I noticed that it was your first article and to be honest, I did the exact same things when I first started editing. I can't tell you how often I had people tagging my articles or additions. In any case, I re-added the article to the mainspace since anything that could be tagged as "speedy delete" have been dealt with. The band easily passes notability guidelines, as their big music award win is sourced now within the article. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:02, 17 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of AG Coco edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on AG Coco requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. ~ twsx | talkcont | ~ 13:12, 11 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Copying licensed material requires attribution edit

Hi Manusiafaiz. In a recent addition to ana (Dota player) you appear to have included material from this webpage, which is available under an Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 United States (CC BY-SA 3.0 US) license. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this legal requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:37, 29 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

My apologize. Writing decent English storyline and proper history is my least expertise. Hopefully other editor could write it better. --Manusiafaiz (talk) 13:47, 29 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:17, 28 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
