To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Please remember to:

Managing a conflict of interest

Hello, MJC8104. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page User talk:Walter Görlitz, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). The content in the article is now correctly sourced. WP:PRIMARY sources are immaterial and WP:NOTADVERTIZING play-in here. How the band wants to portray themselves has been noted but reviewers' interpretations of their genres are more important. If you'd like to discuss this on the article's talk page, feel free to, but use WP:SECONDARY sources to support the genre claims. Walter Görlitz (talk) 15:44, 26 August 2019 (UTC)

What you did right: including content from the reviews of the song. This shows notability.

What you did wrong: including so much content from the reviews of the song. That gets close to violating copyright. Delete about 3/4 of the content from the reviews; use only selected phrases. DS (talk) 01:26, 6 October 2019 (UTC)

I thought it was ok to quote as long as I gave proper credits and added as a reference. I understand now and will see to quote less in the future, picking certain phrases and not using entire paragraphs. I greatly appreciate your help and guidance. MJC8104 (talk) 16:52, 6 October 2019 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Conflict of interest explains it, specifically at WP:DISCLOSE where it discusses the "UserboxCOI template", but only if you want to be outed that way. The thing is it's not clear what your CoI is so that's what I was trying to determine. Walter Görlitz (talk) 21:50, 2 March 2020 (UTC)

Walter Görlitz I understand now. Thank you. I added the template below the welcome section. I hope that clears up any CoI. It was recommended that I add it, by an Admin, when I told them that I have hung out with the band pre/post shows. I am not an employee, received/receiving payment or affiliated with them in any way. I believe you made a similar comment on the band article's talk page. I'm not sure being a fan is a CoI though, even one who follows the band closely. We have some serious fans of U2 who edit those articles and I'm sure super-fans of other artists do it on those articles. As long as you don't try to push the band's own point of view when editing, and stick to reliable sources, I think it would be safe to remove the CoI template on the article.
