Hi there!
I've added my opinion to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/John Carlin co-founder Funny Garbage, Red Hot. I think he's worth keeping, but what would really help is info that meets the requirements in WP:GNG. Have a read of that and see what else you have – perhaps an interview in a newspaper, a bigger mention in a book than the access that Google books gives me or more coverage in magazines. They don't have to be online, they just have to exist, so if an editor went to a library in New York (for example) s/he could find the relevant clipping, book, article in hard copy.
Second, you need to be careful with your association with Carlin. Have a read of WP:COI and be sure to be obviously abiding by it!

Comment:: The article still needs more work, including clean-up and the conversion of bare URLs to prevent link rot. The incorporation of additional inline citations into the article from the sources listed in the references section would also be a great improvement. Copyright problem: Theatre for a New Audience edit

Hi Justlettersand numbers -- Thanks for your help. I can assure you that I have no real connection to ATDF -- I've never met Tony -- but a friend of mine is a dancer at the Foundation and asked me to help. (Additionally: my friend is not mentioned at all in the article). All the information I included has been culled from independent web searches. The only exchange I have had with Tony are regarding the images/licenses.

Hello LorrSG, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Draft:Tap City: the New York City Tap Festival has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. - And the NYT source hard written:
"The roster of more than 90 performers from all over the world includes well-known tapsters like Jimmy Slyde, Prince Spender of the Four Step Brothers, Brenda Bufalino, Jane Goldberg, Lynn Dally, the Silver Belles and Gregory Hines. Many of the performers will also teach classes."
- I do see now that there was an ending quotation mark, but there was no beginning quote mark – though with that it appears to have just been an oversight. But the quote was also changed from the original without any indication. You can't "sort of" quote. You have to be true to the original, use it's exact words, or use ellipses and brackets for any omissions and changes – this changed what a source said. It also changed the tense from the NYT article, written the day before the event, and by doing so, implied it verified what actually occurred, when it was written as what was slated to happen in the future.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 13:16, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
Ah! I know what happened -- I had the quote as written, but was told it was too much like an advertisement -- so I tried to soften it, but then forgot to take the end quote marks out but leave the reference. THANKS for fixing!
