edit

Hi Lhlhkyk, please do not reinstate your former edits if they have already been reverted by someone else, as you did here at Capture of Fez (1554). This is known as edit-warring (see WP:EDITWAR) and is prohibited on Wikipedia. If you have a disagreement with another editor or other editors, explain your reasons at the article's "talk page".

On another note, please ensure that any material you add is properly cited with reliable sources (see WP:RELIABLE), and do not remove content that cites sources unless you provide a clear reason. This is why I've reverted your edits at Bombardment of Algiers (1784). In the future, you can use the edit summary (right before you publish an edit) in order to add an explanation for your edits, or you can add an explanation on the talk page if you need more room to do so. If other editors disagree that your edit is an improvement, they can still revert it, in which case you're expected to use the talk page to address any further disagreements. Thanks, R Prazeres (talk) 16:32, 27 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your contributed article, Sack of Iceland.'

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Sack of Iceland.'. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Turkish Abductions. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Turkish Abductions. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Fram (talk) 13:55, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

I second this, and notice that you have recreated similar articles under different titles – Sack of Reykjavik and Sack of Iceland 1627. As written, they are not suitable to remain published because they duplicate existing content or consist of only infoboxes and references without substantial prose. Thus, they have all been redirected to Turkish Abductions, which deals with exactly the same subject and is substantially more complete. Feel free to work on that article, or alternatively further develop Draft:Sack of Iceland, where the chances of your work being undone are far lower; persistent re-creation (under the same or different titles) without heeding these notices will be considered disruptive editing. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have. Complex/Rational 17:25, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Battle of Americana

edit

The article Battle of Americana has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence this was a "battle". The only reference I can find to US-Algeria conflict in 1973 is just that generally, 11 ships were captured by corsairs. (https://www.monticello.org/research-education/thomas-jefferson-encyclopedia/first-barbary-war/) But I find nothing calling that/those the "Battle of Americana"

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Continuing unsourced edits across multiple articles

edit

Hi Lhlhkyk, please stop making unsourced changes and unexplained deletions to articles, as you did Battle of Cape Palos (1815), Bombardment of Algiers (1688), Battle of Cádiz (1669); in addition to the edits previously noted above. Your edits are clearly pushing a particular POV, in violation of Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, and they continue to omit citations to reliable sources, as already noted above. If you continue to delete or changing content of articles in this manner, it may be considered a form of disruptive editing (see also tendentious editing) and may result on restrictions being placed on your account. Ways to improve Battle of Càdiz 1785

edit

Hello, Lhlhkyk,

Thank you for creating Battle of Càdiz 1785.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

If you could describe the event in the article and show why it is notable (ideally with references) that would make this a stronger entry. --Zippy (talk) 21:00, 11 August 2022 (UTC)

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Zippy}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Proposed deletion of Battle of Càdiz 1785

edit

The article Battle of Càdiz 1785 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Sources don't reference a Battle of Càdiz in 1785. They do reference corsairs capturing ships, but it's OR to create a battle or war out of that if the sources don't say so

Capture Of El Kef moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Capture Of El Kef, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 14:02, 18 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please only create pages in mainspace when you are sure they are ready to be an article. This is the fourth time in the last few days that you have created an article with nothing but an infobox. Please consider working on the articles as drafts and then either submit them through articles for creation or move them to mainspace yourself once they are ready. Thank you. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 14:21, 10 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Sack of Ireland moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Sack of Ireland, is not suitable as written to remain published.

Articles on Wikipedia should contain some actual content, not an isolated infobox.

When you feel the article has enough content to be published and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. * Pppery * it has begun... 15:36, 10 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
