February 2013 edit

This is your last warning. The next time you add unreliably sourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Shadow people, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. McGeddon (talk) 19:20, 8 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Is "shadowpeople.com" not a source? I apologise if this is the case. Lamb Ham Jam Man (talk) 19:21, 8 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I'm afraid it's not a reliable source. Thanks for your attempts to reference unsourced statements, but amateur websites aren't any use to Wikipedia as sources. --McGeddon (talk) 19:24, 8 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for letting me know. I have been looking for references but sadly there is often not much in the newspaper about shadow people. Perhaps it is the very nature of shadow people that they are difficult to source. Lamb Ham Jam Man (talk) 19:26, 8 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Teahouse edit

You are asking questions at teahouse about shredding documents. The purpose of tea house is to answer questions about editing (not reading) wikipedia. please stop. Gtwfan52 (talk) 18:48, 15 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Thank you for your message. I have asked my question at the reference desk and they seem to have some answers for me already. I have to say, when I saw the sign "A Friendly Place" on my invite to the Tea House, and on the top of the page, I'd expect people to have a little patience rather than instantly start telling me off and that I'm not using the place correctly. I find your tone and Charles's quite unwelcoming. Lamb Ham Jam Man (talk) 19:09, 15 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sorry about that Lam Ham Jam Man. The editors in question are correct that the Teahouse is for advice on editing; however, they really went about letting you know the wrong way. I hope you're not too put off and that you'll drop by the Teahouse again if you have any questions on editing. Ryan Vesey 19:12, 15 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 09:27, 6 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:WikiProject United States/The 50,000 Challenge edit

You are invited to participate in the 50,000 Challenge, aiming for 50,000 article improvements and creations for articles relating to the United States. This effort began on November 1, 2016 and to reach our goal, we will need editors like you to participate, expand, and create. See more here!

Proposed deletion of Beast of Bevendean edit

The article Beast of Bevendean has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Topic is not notable and all sources come from the same publisher.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
