Cyberbot

edit

Should this be listed in Cyberbot's thingie? It doesn't seem to be. (Excuse my getting hung up on technical details; I don't have anything clever to add.) ekips39 (talk) 02:39, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

The RfA doesn't appear to be set up with all the appropriate values, so it won't. I'm not going to tell you how to do it per WP:BEANS. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:22, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Ekips39: Cyberbot I (talk · contribs), like several other bots, was down from approximately 21:00, 30 March 2015 until it was restarted at 13:23, 1 April 2015. --Redrose64 (talk) 15:25, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Redrose64: Ah, ok. Why didn't I get this ping? ekips39 (talk) 17:58, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Will anybody object if I mark the accompanying page {{db-hoax}}? It's been more than twelve hours now. --Redrose64 (talk) 15:25, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Let's keep until the end of the day, UTC. No harm in doing so. That's another 8 hours as of posting this.→ Call me CP678 15:49, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "No harm in doing so" -- I'm not so sure. This looks like a waste of time in a high profile environment. What is going on here? --Gaff (talk) 15:55, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
    Normally yes, I would agree with you that this is disruptive, but when it's April Fools everyone can expect there to be jokes and joke nominations, so you might as well play along, as long as it doesn't get out of hand and doesn't disrupt the encyclopedia for our readers. That brings me to conclude there is no harm in joke nominating RfAs on April Fools, as long as we don't have a million of them. I participate in April Fools on Wikipedia, but paradying others signatures to look like theirs in a manner that isn't disruptive. I also have the classic OBoD on my user page, all of which off the moment April Fools has passed.Cyber :  Chat  16:29, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

I originally thought this RfA was not transcluded, and hence would never be picked up by bots, and would just seep out via casual mentions on talk pages (I picked it up on MelanieN's talk). Since it was transcluded, it's been made semi-official as opposed to a hidden joke, which I'm a little more uncomfortable about. I would ask Keegan if he wants to put in userspace with a {{humor}} tag on it. If the response doesn't come back affirmative, speedy it under G3 for "blatant and obvious misinformation". Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:51, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

It could have remained on the RfA with the humor tag. Good lord. Sometimes I think we should really stop taking our internal processes so seriously. Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 20:01, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Someone should add "No sense of humour" to the 5 pillars ..... I admit April fools is somewhat disruptive but Jesus Christ it's 1 day out of 364.... Surely there can be some leniency and perhaps happiness for one day ...., In all honestly certainly this year it feels as if a sense of humour on this place is forbidden it really does, –Davey2010Talk 20:35, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedy deleted as pure vandalism or a blatant hoax, because... this is a user subpage that is not vandalism, a copyright infringement or an attack page. If you feel so strongly that it should not exist, MfD it. --Liz Read! Talk! 19:53, 2 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
