Quartermile

edit

Hello Katy.lavery, thank you for your edit on the page. Your edits were made in good faith, however you did it the wrong way. As a user previously told you, please don't put reference links in body of text or link to businesses. I invite you to take a look at this page to know which references can be included and which are not accepted in this Encyclopedia. Thank you :-) Joaquin008 (talk) 16:29, 26 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

As a Quartermile marketing executive, I'm afraid you have a massive Conflict of interest when editing that article. You might want to see the Plain and simple conflict of interest guide for some advice, but please remember that this is a serious encyclopaedic project (or at least we like to think so) about Bessel functions and the Ottoman Empire, not a blog. As such, edits that are not neutral or are incorrectly formatted will be reverted pretty quickly. Thank you for taking the time to reply to Joaquin008 and taking on board his comments about your edits. That is definitely the right way to go about things. Many thanks. Jamesx12345
Hi, thanks for your message and advice. Our main concern about the existing page was that the information on it is wrong and out of date. We don't have any intention of using it as a marketing tool as we have other methods of promoting the development, we just wanted the information contained on the page to be correct should someone choose to search for Quartermile on Wikipedia. If you believe that I have a conflict of interest, how would you suggest that we go about getting the correct information displayed on the page? We are more than happy to remove the paragraph about awards if this is your concern - it was only included as these are factually correct and relevant. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Katy Katy.lavery (talk) 15:06, 27 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I understand you are associated with Quartermile. If you need to understand how to suggest edits to an existing article, please place {{Helpme}} on THIS page, link to Quartermile, the real article, not your draft, and ask "How do I request edits to this article. I am associated with the organisation. Fiddle Faddle 11:34, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

How do I request edits to this article. I am associated with the organisation. The page is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quartermile and much of the information is wrong as it is very outdated. Thanks

Hi. First of all, kudos for taking the high road and deciding not to edit the article yourself due to the conflict of interest. In order to request an edit in such a case, you want to make your request on the article's talk page, and use the {{request edit}} template to notify users working on that backlog. Hope that helps. If you have any further questions, please feel free to re-open the (or open a new) help request. Cheers! ~ twsx | talkcont | ~ 11:48, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, User:Katy.lavery/sandbox

edit

Hello Katy.lavery. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "sandbox".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|User:Katy.lavery/sandbox}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. TKK! bark with me! 23:45, 16 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
