Sharif Waked

edit

Hi WWGB, i have seen you did some edit on Sharif Waked. I Hope you can give me advices. Can you tell me if there is anything i did wrong, or if i forgot something. I Have seen that the main title for this artist is under SHAREF and not SHARIF... Can you tell me how to modify it?. I Would like to be more involved regarding the contemporary artist in Video Art. Any advices and help will be really motivating. Thanks a lot for your answer.Jjcolmax 14:27, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

All I did was change the title from waked to Waked. If you want to change the title from Sharef Waked to Sharif Waked then go to the article page. Click on the "move" tab at the top of the page. Then, in the "To new title" box make a change to the correct spelling. Add a reason for the change, then click on "Move page". WWGB 11:29, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

About Collaborating

edit

Hi Jamie,

I had another talk with other Administrator about how to collaborate... I understood why you saw a conflict of interest, which means much better for me to 1st leave a comment on the discussion page before editing.... Please help me a tiny bit t know how to act in Wikipedia according to the guidelines... This is a post i left on 2 pages.... Does it fit your standards? Is there anything i should add or delete.... Hope you will answer me...Thanks a lot....

I would like to know if it is fine to have an external link for Regina Galindo. I am an teacher and art critic. This link is her official web page for her videos. She is sending most of her work to be seen online. It is a non profit site, having only banners of non profit entities (Green Peace, WWF, British Art Council...). As i i am writing for them. It looks like there is a conflict of interest according to Wikipedia Guidelines. One moderators deleted every links thinking at first i might be a spammer. Which mean i need to 1st talk with people on the discussion page. please do not hesitate to give me advices as i am quite new in wikipedia, but as an Art lover and Cinema teacher, i would love to be more involved....

PS: more than 40 critics from every continents are collaborating to give high levels of critics (we all do it for free, no business at all, no spam,To keep this art alive....) I hope it will be appreciated by all the people working on Cinema, "art et essais," Experimental video art.....

If you have advices as well about adding new contemporary artists, please tell it to me.... Thanks a lot for your answers and your advices (end of post).

As well i am sending you the list o of some of those critics involved, as i have seen the "Notable" side has to be involved.... Specialized Art Critics Involved:Jonathan Goodman, New York, USA, David Gibson, New York, USA Raul Zamudio, New York, USA Blanca de la Torre, New York, USA Susan Warren, San Francisco, USA Raul Martinez, Milano, Italy Fernando Castro, Madrid, Spain Miguel Cereceda, Madrid, Spain Javier Duero, Madrid, Spain Javier Panera, Salamanca, Spain Juan Ramón Barbancho, Sevilla, Spain Aude Gilbert, Paris, France Sophie Martin, Paris, France Le Choismier Christophe, Paris France Sophie Williamson, London, UK Katharina Krause, Berlin, German Maria Morata, Berlin, Germany Ulises Barreda, Mexico DF, Mexico Katrine Clausen, Copenhague, Denmark Ifat Zvirin, Tel Aviv, Israel Amineh Istay, Aman, Jordania Maricarmen Chirinos, Lima, Peru Melissa Wong, Singapore, Singapore Yukiko Kakiuchi, Tokyo, Japan —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jjcolmax (talk

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia. OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:38, 19 September 2007 (UTC) Reply

Please note the warning about blacklisting; it would be very easy to get your site banned from all Wikipedia pages (in all languages) given your contributions and contributions from various IPs in Spain. OhNoitsJamie Talk 16:37, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

What is wrong with Those links??

edit

Hello Jamie, I am not sure why you send me such messages on my page???!!!..I am quite active in the Cinema Group (film in The 60's, Early Stages, Surealism..), I am a teacher of the History of Cinema, I am participating in Wikipedia under 3 Users Name, One for Editing Articles, One For translation (in 4 languages), and one for Adding Links. Some of the Best European Critics are colaborating with this Web Site. It is a non Profit Site, Having only Banners of Non profit Organizations (Green Peace, WWF, The English Art Council...). The Articles are written by teachers and Art critics. The Site is Offering Video Online without Having to Download It. It's free for every artist to register, Many students are using it...They Focus on Cinema/Theory Concepts. I Think you deleted links without reading at all those articles. For Example, if you read about Maya Deren and Meshes of the afternoon, you will see that the article is much better that what we have on wiki...If you look at what the cinema group is asking for Vertov (we need more Links!!!)...you wouldn't delete such an interesting link. This link fits perfectly the standards and the Guidelines of Wikipedia. I can Agree that for Duchamp, we might not need another link, what we need really is someone writing an Article on ANEMIC CINEMA..(we dont have any....Please tell me that before deleting those links you read the articles!!!...i Hope so....Please tell me what you think....It would be nice as well if instead os sending me a warning, we could talk first...The world is tough enough...Talking is always a better solution.... Please tell me what's wrong with those links...I Hope as well you are not going to delete all the articles i wrote on cinema and film Theory....Please, discuss with the cinema group or with myself about what's wrong.... Thanks a lot for your answer...We all love cinema....We need people to make it alive... (we are thinking as well to start adding some links to specific articles of ARTNET.COM....before we start...please tell me if it fit your standards.... If as well you are interested in Early stages cinema or Contemporary Video Art, may be you can help us to improve the contents....We have a list of more than 200 artists to be added.....Thanks again for a detailed answer....:) (some of the links you deleted might come again as other people are watching those pages....if you think that any of those links dont fit the guidelines...Please tell it to me...We will find better one to add to replace it...)—Preceding unsigned comment added by Jjcolmax (talkcontribs) 09:06, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your links have been deleted per WP:EL and conflict of interest guidelines, in that (1) it's a commercial site, and (2) your adding links to your own site or a site you're affiliated with. It would be one thing if the links were added by various people, but I noted that all of them were added by one of three accounts (your account, and two IPs in Madrid). I also noticed that the same batch had been added to several other language wikis. If you persist in adding them, the site will be blacklisted. (On a side note....if you're going to leave messages on my talk page, please follow the directions on that page for where to leave them). Thanks, OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:10, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm not convinced by your arguments. If you persist, I'll put up a notice in the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Spam bulletin board, which may result in your links being banned from all language Wikipedias. I'm done discussing this. OhNoitsJamie Talk 16:42, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

More Help from Administrator?

edit

Sorry, i can not tell you much more than that, you have all the elements to judge by yourself...I would have liked to receive some advices from you, or some answers to my questions, to help me to collaborate... If you ever read this post?! can you just tell me at least which administrator could advice me and answer my questions? Is there any administrator specialized in Movie/Cinema/Contemporary Art? Someone who can tell me if the links or article i want to add are valuable? I would like to talk with someone who have knowledge on those fields.... Good luck with your work... And if someone else ever read this, any help would be appreciated...Jjcolmax (talkcontribs)

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 09:13, 6 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi. We're into the last five days of the Women in Red World Contest. There's a new bonus prize of $200 worth of books of your choice to win for creating the most new women biographies between 0:00 on the 26th and 23:59 on 30th November. If you've been contributing to the contest, thank you for your support, we've produced over 2000 articles. If you haven't contributed yet, we would appreciate you taking the time to add entries to our articles achievements list by the end of the month. Thank you, and if participating, good luck with the finale!

Help to check a sandbox before publication

Hello. I want to translate an article ("fr:Manoir des Croft" in French), but my English is not great. Can you check and correct my sandbox, please, before publication ? Thanks in advance--Paul Morère (talk) 13:26, 7 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
