Help me!

edit

Please help me with...speedy deletion. I did not want this page deleted, I only wanted to create a new edited page with better references for notability. Also, Wikipedia says that my user page does not exist? I did not want to delete my account either. I am very confused by all this, please help me.

Janice Leah Poss (talk) 13:57, 3 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Not sure why you nominated it for deletion if you didn't want it deleted, but I've removed the deletion notice. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 14:29, 3 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

The name of my account is red and when I hover over it with my cursor it says my userpage does not exist, what may I have done o cause this?

edit

Should I just create a new account? Janice Leah Poss (talk) 04:21, 7 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

You haven't done anything wrong and there's nothing wrong with your account! The red link just means that you haven't created a user page. Saucy[talkcontribs] 04:46, 7 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

(edit conflict)

No, you just need to create a user page (one option) or redirect your userpage to your user talk page (this page) if you don't wish to bother saying some things about yourself on your user page.
Some people get very involved in setting up their userpage just so. Try not to spend a lot of time futzing with your userpage until you have more to say.
But if you can't resist, there's a nifty design center available: Wikipedia:User page design center

Congratulations, Janicelp, on creating your first article. You have put together an interesting biography on someone who obviously deserves to be included in the encyclopedia. After some minor copy editing and adding a few links to other articles, I moved it to the mainspace. I hope this success will encourage you to write more articles about women in religion. If ever you need assistance, please let me know. You might also find it useful to join WikiProject Women in Red. You can do so by clicking on "Join WikiProject" in the box at the top of the page. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 08:20, 6 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted because it included copyrighted content, which is not permitted on Wikipedia. Hi Dan, Thank you for your quick reply on this. I was hoping to get this up as it is important for this subject to have an English page.
It has been quite awhile since I have written something for Wikipedia. The learning curve is huge and I see that there are many changes as to how things work--I think for the better.
Today, I worked several hours only to be told that YouTube is on the WikiBlacklist and I had to remove those references as well as the one that got flagged for copyright (I did not know). Can you watch this page for me and let me know if there are any other changes I need to address to get it accepted, please> I most appreciate it.

Dear Greenman, Thank you for your commentary. I will work on sourcing, but I want to bring to your attention that this person already has a German Wikipedia page https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulrike_Auga
and also a Wikidata entry: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q2477207. Would this page not be enough as a reliable source? Also I see that Wikipedia is now requesting tertiary sources whereas they used want secondary ones, how is that possible?
She is also mentioned on this page and I just linked her German Wikipedia page to this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queering_Paradigms#Queering_Paradigms_@_CIRQUE_(June_2019)
In addition, I have been editing on Wikipedia in 2015 and began the 1000 Women in Religion project, (now Women in Religion focus group) with my colleagues and my handle is janicelp, why does it say my page does not exist?
I hope this helps you as well so we can get her page up. She is a very accomplished academic and deserves to have a page. Perhaps there are cultural differences between Germany and the USA, but those ought to be taken into consideration.
I look forward to your continued help.

Wikidata and de-wikipedia are separate projects with different, and generally looser rules. ping Greenman so he sees the above Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:42, 5 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi Jim, See my latest reply--yeah, I'm getting that de-Wikipedia is much looser (culturally, I have to say, I think because people can't "embellish" their backgrounds as in the USA (i.e. George Santos!!) because the career hoops they have to jump through are much more strict to begin with, especially after WWII!) Thanks again, Greenman, too, for your help!! Janicelp Janice Leah Poss (talk) 14:34, 5 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Greenman, Yes, I am receiving help from Figureskatingfan. We are part of the Women in Religion Project https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Women_in_Religion. We are editing Ulrike's page for better notable sources. We've been busy with other projects. If you have time to add sources that you might have to validate her page, we certainly welcome those. Thanks, Janicelp (talk) 17:54, 4 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Greenman, Yes, I am receiving help from Figureskatingfan. We are both part of the Women In Religion Project on Wikipedia. if you can find some "reliable" sources to helps us get Ulrike's page up in English, this would be a huge help to her and to us. Thanks, Janicelp (talk) 18:23, 4 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
