Source and name for badminton players in the tournament article

edit

Hi Ivy0708.. I see that you are attracted to contribute in badminton related articles. Per your contribution in 2023 Taipei Open article, i see that there were some errors that you have made. About the sources, please find the new source of prospectus of the tournament, don't just copy paste from the previous event. As i can see, you added 2022 prospectus to 2023 Chinese Taipei Open article. For players name, please follow the their name in Wikipedia] or Wikidata, doing some research, don't just copy paste from the bwfbadminton.com or tournamentsoftware.com. Because Wikipedia have a guidelines for how to name Wikipedia articles about individual people (WP:NCP). Avoid disambiguation pages (Ex: When you are added and linked Lin Chun-yi, it will lead to Lin Chun-yi disambiguation pages not the Lin Chun-yi badminton player. And please take an example from the previous article (2022 Taipei Open) about the style in the draw. In tournaments draw, we usually used the pipe link (Ex: K Naraoka; A Morada; Ng K L; Leong J H; Tai T-y; Lin C-y; Kim Ga-eun) Here are some mistakes that you made in 2023 Taipei Open article:

• Ng Ka Long Angus --> Ng Ka Long
• Lin Kuan-Ting --> Lin Kuan-ting (don't use capital letters after (-) in Taiwanese name)
• Chi Yu-jen not Chi Yu Jen
• Lin Chun-yi --> Lin C-y
• Zhang Beiwen --> Beiwen Zhang
• Agnes Korosi --> Ágnes Kőrösi (Á Kőrösi)
• Thuy Linh Nguyen --> Nguyễn Thùy Linh (Nguyễn T L)
• Sim Yu Jin --> Sim Yu-jin (Korean naming style same with Taiwanese)
• Huang Ching Ping --> Huang Ching-ping
• Kim Ga-eun --> Kim G-e
• Pitchamon Opatniputh --> Pitchamon Opatniput (without h behind)

For men's and women's doubles, the order should follow their last name or surname first then given name (Ex: We should mention Ong Yew Sin first then Teo Ee Yi; Lee Yang first then Wang Chi-lin; Su Ching-heng first then Ye Hong-wei; While for mixed doubles, the order should be the men's player first then the women's player). Your mistakes in doubles draw:

• Ye Hong Wei--> Ye Hong-wei
• Po Li-Wei --> Po Li-wei
• Chiu Hsiang Chieh --> Chiu Hsiang-chieh
• Kim Young Hyuk --> Kim Young-hyuk
• Chiang Chien-Wei --> Chiang Chien-wei
• Wu Hsuan-Yi --> Wu Hsuan-yi
• Lu Chen --> Lu C
• Angela Yu --> A Yu
• N. Reddy Sikki --> N. Sikki Reddy
• Kenneth Zhe Hooi Choo --> Kenneth Choo

I did not mentioned all the Taiwanese and Korean players here. Because, i think by this example that i give to you, you will understand. I hope your contributions and edits will be even better. Thank you Stvbastian (talk) 02:02, 14 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
