 Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~), be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Ben Shattuck moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Ben Shattuck, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:55, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I've moved this article back into the draft space. It appears to me based on your user name that you are likely to have a conflict of interest (COI), and for that reason you should submit your draft for review via the Articles for Creation (AfC) process rather than publishing directly.
I have not submitted the draft for review yet; you are welcome to do so by clicking the blue 'Submit' button.
I will post a separate message below to help you deal with any COI issue.

Managing a conflict of interest

Hello, Iowawrwrkshp. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Draft:Ben Shattuck, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:01, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

You might get a Wikipedian who is prepared to teach you. But, since you are paid to edit here you will find that very few editors have any interest in helping you earn your living. Yoiu mustleanr what is required and only submit your drafts when they are ready.
Paid editors may be allowed, but it is that you are tolerated, not welcomed. Your job is to learn yoiur trade without troubling the rest of us. Please use your payments and learn what it takes to get your articles accepted here.
Work well and there is almost a guarantee of acceptance. Work poorly and you will find your clients do not pay your invoices. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 09:21, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Paid editors may not move drafts to main space 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 07:20, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Bread Loaf Writers' Conference. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. I am not paid but simply trying to create pages of writers of color with national awards who are sorely underrepresented. You seem to have a personal vendetta and a need to gatekeep which is very odd. There are many pages I have referenced with less notability and fewer sourcing that you have not made it a personal mission to attack. I have never written anything untoward and have included negative reviews. Hope you have a good day. Iowawrwrkshp (talk) 17:14, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
But you state on your user page that you have been paid by University of Iowa for your contributions to Wikipedia? Theroadislong (talk) 17:26, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
For the first page I made which was accepted. Not for the two you took down. Have a great day. Iowawrwrkshp (talk) 00:25, 22 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
