In this edit to the Wiswesser rule article, you said you were having trouble adding references. The Wikipedia features related to referencing can definitely be confusing. What is the ref you are trying to add? DMacks (talk) 16:24, 18 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Albert L. Allred moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Albert L. Allred, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Few advice on Ionization energy edits edit

Hi @Ice bear johny: thanks again for your edits. Allow me to give you a few advice: when citing a reference that's already been cited, please re-use that reference (Cite button>Re-use). Also, when your reference is a link to a web page, you need to add more information than just the link. Wikipedia can sometimes help you with this (Cite button>Automatic>Generate), but sometimes you need to provide page title, author, date when you accessed the page etc. Articles here are not meant to be your original research (as in: this atom has higher ionization energy than that atom because (I think) the orbital is smaller and there may be relativistic effects). The statement needs to be written as such in your sources. Your sources should be books and review articles, sometimes regular scientific articles, in rare cases online courses (make sure they have citations), but definitely not web forums (totally unreliable and will most likely be removed). Finally, avoid using "we", per MOS:WE. Thanks, Ponor (talk) 14:45, 18 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

What do you mean po by original research? I'll study the {{citation}}: Empty citation (help) template soon, but as of now I'm currently preoccupied with some things i need to take care of. Nonetheless, Imma try to improve my future edits. Oh and why I've been so slow in adding more references is because i was not able to find sufficient ones, like for lead and zirconium.
If you know why their IE is aberrant, feel free to edit my mere inferences. Really tho, I only use sites such as blogspots for ideas/corroborating sources. When I serendipitously find a much nicer source, expect me to replace it. Ice bear johny (talk) 14:59, 18 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
Wait you say something about "cute reuse". How can i do that? I'm just a junior (like really really junior editor) so i dunno much about such things. Anyways thanks for your feedback! Ice bear johny (talk) 15:01, 18 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Original research means your edits should not be your own conclusions on the subject (some are OK, if they're simple and reasonable and not mere guessing). I'm only saying all this because I don't want your work to be edited out of the article. I'll try to find some good sources myself; probably some chemistry books. I don't know how you're editing the articles, but in your Preferences you can choose Editing>Editing mode>Visual editor, then turn on some Gadgets for citations, as well as some cool Beta features. The Cite button is on top of the editor (for me), next to Paragraph drop down menu, underlined A, and Link. You can get it with Ctrl+Shift+K. When a little window pops up, you'll have three options to add a citation: Automatic, Manual, Re-use. Best wishes, Ponor (talk) 15:21, 18 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

WAIT WHAT MY EDIT CAN BE REMOVED?! BRUH-. Oh and I'm using phone, and a real bummer at that :(. Anyways, I hope imma finish writing all those edits in my notebook before they get removed. Goodnight ponor (it's nighttime here and my parents' are forcing me to sleep once again).Ice bear johny (talk) 16:10, 18 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

If edits reversed... edit

...all is not lost. The View history at top menu goes to chronological list of edits. For each, clicking on prev (left) show the edit. Content can be copied into your own sandbox to be saved. I have no familiarity with the topic, but it appears your tone is not encyclopedic, you are adding original research, and you are adding content with references that are not considered reliable sources. Wikipedia is reference as you write, not write first, reference later. David notMD (talk) 02:10, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Btw how can i access the sandbox? I'm using phone so no shortcuts :(. Anyways thanks! Ice bear johny (talk) 02:15, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Ok i fixed some of my grammar and pronouns. Some of my references are only put because no other references are there. Hmmm although i think my context of reference is wrong (it should be further reading), there are really no other refs. Ice bear johny (talk) 04:33, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Ask at Teahouse how to create your Sandbox using a phone. Also, at Talk pages, add one more : at the beginning of your comment than was used for the previous comment - this indents. David notMD (talk) 11:30, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
A suggestion - reach out to editors who have contributed content (not just general editing stuff) to this article in the recent past, to ask them to review and improve, especially better referencing. Ponor appears to be one such editor. David notMD (talk) 11:38, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

ah yes we're kinda collaborating on that article :))). Anyways thanks for your advice! Have a nice day! Ice bear johny (talk) 11:57, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Ionization energy: Diagram of Ac and Ra edit

Hello. In the Ionization energy article for the diagram of Ac and Ra, I think it would be more normal to place Ac to the right of Ra as in the periodic table which readers are used to seeing. However I cannot change the diagram myself as it requires software for drawing which I do not own. So may I suggest that you redraw this diagram with Ra on the left and Ac on the right? Dirac66 (talk) 19:26, 30 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

hmmm i only used inCollage, but ok imma fix it. Furthermore I wasn't able to edit much in Ionization energies because classes are now starting in the Philippines, but the main reason is i don't know the <math> symbols for the computation part; i.e even though I know the computation-s, I still cannot input them. Anyways have a good day! Ice bear johny (talk) 02:41, 1 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

I fixed it already :))) Ice bear johny (talk) 03:23, 1 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
Um, in the article I still see a figure with Ac to the left of Ra. And as for the <math> symbols, what I usually do is to find another article with a formula that has the symbols I want to insert, and then look at the source code for that other article to find a model to adapt to the article I am editing. Dirac66 (talk) 15:41, 1 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
No wait maybe it's lagging on mine or yours. Maybe wait it out, because on mine it's already a new version. Ice bear johny (talk) 16:09, 1 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
OK, problem fixed. It seems the Wikipedia article had the correct picture after you changed it, but my computer had kept the old version in its cache!?? So I cleared the cache with Ctrl-F5 and it is ok now. Thanks for changing the picture. Dirac66 (talk) 01:55, 2 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

National varieties of English edit

Hello. In a recent edit to the page Greta Thunberg, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Sundayclose (talk) 23:10, 28 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

ArcticHell's userpage edit

Hello Ice bear johny. I was going through the work you had done on 9GAG as you had nominated it for GA review — I reviewed the nomination a few days ago — and I came across your edit on ArcticHell's userpage. Since editors should not substantially edit userpages of other editors per this, your changes may come off as vandalism and I would suggest that you undo them. I am not sure if ArcticHell and you are friends in real life (from your message on their talk page); but even if you both were, it would be inappropriate to replace someone's entire userpage content with something that very much looks like vandalism. I felt that I should discuss this with you first instead of reverting the edits myself, because you have been doing good work on Wikipedia and I believe your intent must not have been to vandalize someone's userpage. The article currently does not demonstrate how the subject meets our applicable notability guidelines.
