Speedy deletion nomination of Khalid alvi edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Khalid alvi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. JZCL 12:32, 29 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Khalid alvi edit

The article Khalid alvi has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Qwyrxian (talk) 14:11, 29 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please stop edit

Please do not re-add 1) unsourced information--especially possibly contentious information about living people, and 2) long sections of primary sources, especially creative works, and especially works not in English. You need to understand that Wikipedia is not just a place where you can post whatever you want; we have a whole lot of rules and policies about what type of information can be included, the most important of which for here are WP:NPOV, WP:OR, and WP:V. I recommend that you read these policies before adding more info to the Alvi article. If you have questions, please ask. Qwyrxian (talk) 03:35, 31 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Help edit

I have added 5-6 references ,which are available on google.Rest of the info is also very true but the reliable sources are books and no reference can be found on the net..kindly help me sir,,,, --Hamdirfan987 (talk) 06:41, 31 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

The sources don't need to be on the net. In fact, very many internet sites are not reliable sources. You can use a book as a reference; you just need to include the book's title, author, publisher, and the year of publication. Of course, not all books are reliable sources. If you're not sure, you can post them on the article's talk page first, and I or someone else can review them. Qwyrxian (talk) 07:58, 31 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I forgot one other thing: generally, we don't want books by Alvi, we want books that talk about him, written by people independent of him. Books by Alvi can be used only for basic, noncontroversial, non-promotional info. Again, for any specific details, please ask on the article's talk page. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Khalid Alvi, At Calgary,Canada.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Khalid Alvi, At Calgary,Canada.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:40, 5 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Books,of Khalid Alvi,in Urdu.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Books,of Khalid Alvi,in Urdu.jpg, which you've attributed to (Book Covers). I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 21:12, 5 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Maulana Abdullah Bukhari Sr. edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Maulana Abdullah Bukhari Sr. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

License tagging for File:Raashid Alvi on Praveen Togadia.ogg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Raashid Alvi on Praveen Togadia.ogg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

Raashid Alvi edit

Please do not assume ownership of articles as you did at Raashid Alvi. If you aren't willing to allow your contributions to be edited extensively or be redistributed by others, please do not submit them. Thank you.

You were warned about this last month, by Auric and said "I totally understand" - The changes you have made are in contravention of both policy and consensus - as explained on Talk:Raashid Alvi Arjayay (talk) 18:08, 31 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Raashid Alvi. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism. For what must now be the fifth time, you are being asked to make no further edits to the article on Raashid Alvi without discussing any proposed changes on the talk page first. You recently removed a peacock tag and replaced several sections of text despite a formal request not to do so without discussing first-- you did not discuss, gave no explanation or edit summary, and simply reverted to the previous edit. Chronic behavior of this nature is going to cause two things to happen: 1.) the issue is likely to head to dispute resolution very soon, where other editors will be asked to consider your actions and the content of the article as it has changed over time, and 2.) if you continue to refuse to cooperate with Wikipedia policy and ignore clearly-stated requests to discuss and obtain consensus before you act further on this article, your account will very likely be temporarily suspended; once the suspension is over, if you return to the same behavior, your account is likely to become permanently blocked. In the end, none of this has much potential of changing the content of the article exactly to your liking: Wikipedia is a collective effort, and no one, not even you, owns this article, even if you are the article's subject. I have no desire to see this issue escalated to dispute resolution, and hope that you will listen to this request, the latest in a series, to please behave appropriately. If not, you are going to cause a lot of work for many other people, and you are unlikely to get anything you are aiming for in the end. If you have questions, please post them for others to read. We are all here to help each other, not to railroad over each other's well-intentioned efforts. Yes? Thank you! KDS4444Talk 05:29, 2 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

On another note, when did you become a Master Editor?? Your edit history indicates less than 400 edits, and Master Editors are defined (as it were) as having conducted at least 42,000 edits. I get the sense that you might like to qualify for that title someday, but your behavior on this article is not that of a master editor, and it's...kinda... weird (?) to pretend like you are already there... unless I am somehow mistaken? Sockpuppet investigation edit

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Hamdirfan987, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community. KDS4444Talk 14:28, 3 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Pronunciation of Alvi.ogg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Pronunciation of Alvi.ogg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
