September 2012 edit

Hello, you marked a couple of references in the Somaliland article with {{Dead link}}. That tag is for web-based sources (i.e. web page URLs) but the references in question (if I'm not mistaken) are books, not web pages. Thanks, -- Gyrofrog (talk) 21:40, 26 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button   or   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 22:48, 12 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Hadraawi", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it implies that you are (or are affiliated with) the real person named Hadraawi (see WP:REALNAME). If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. Gyrofrog (talk) 16:59, 13 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

May 2014 edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Dougweller (talk) 12:38, 10 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Regarding your edits to Isaaq: please have a look at Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources. We can't cite web forums, such as sunniforum.com, or other user-generated content, such as the page at halbeegnews.net. The second of these would appear to be a news website, but the particular page you cited was user-generated. Furthermore, that page cites Wikipedia, which we don't want to use (see WP:CIRCULAR). Thanks, -- Gyrofrog (talk) 23:04, 13 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi Hadraa. That user is actually one of the main, good faith contributors to WikiProject Somalia (which, incidentally, I recommend you join [1]). I agree with you, though, since their clan membership/lineage is public record. I'll assist as best I can. Best, Middayexpress (talk) 14:57, 17 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

June 2014 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I have noticed that some of your recent genre changes, such as the one you made to Isaaq, have conflicted with our neutral point of view and verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you seek consensus for certain edits by discussing the matter on the article's talk page. Hadraa, do not mark reverts due to your controversial changes "vandalism". Take it back to talk, as Wikipedians, we use consensus.

Also, stop deliberately breaking links. Ogress smash! 17:40, 8 June 2014 (UTC) all your points are taken and some new sources will be used and by simply throwing out the hole work for no reason hope you are fair an apply that to all Somali clans who have more notable people then the ISAAQ CLAN AND THEY NEED SOURCES .thanks.Reply

Edit war edit

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Please stop. AcidSnow (talk) 19:49, 10 June 2014 (UTC) MoFarah is Isaaq if you read the news article you will see and if you want to block me go a head but be sure that what i wrote has no clam of false in it.Reply

You keep adding sources to the list of notable people in Isaaq, but none of these sources mention anything about clan affiliation (Isaaq or otherwise). Please see WP:Source list. -- Gyrofrog (talk) i know brother and what you said is right but i used that they say the come from Somaliland as a source and WP:Source list is true but the thing is common Somalis know that the people are who they say they are and is called common knowledge cheers.

Just to be clear, Wikipedia policy concerning WP:V and WP:NOR trumps common knowledge. It might be clear or obvious to Somalis, but it probably isn't to anyone else. See Wikipedia:Common knowledge. Thanks. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 14:36, 12 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount and can lead to a block, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.

Your reason here : i see no reson for the block and i used useful contributions and sources to inprove the artical and showed that Somaliland was a free stat for more then five days and wrote all that in the talk page of Somaliland what i did was not vandalism so please lift up the block which is by the way the first time and in any given argument use the talk page thanks.

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on State of Somaliland. Request reason:

i only used 3 times for 1 of april and its not fair that evan if idid use one time in the 31 of march. and it clearly says An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page—whether involving the same or different material—within a 24-hour period. look att the time and date thanks.Hadraa (talk) 01:27, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Calendar day is meaningless; we have editors across the globe. The policy clearly notes a 24 hour period. Your best bet would be to slow down and stop trying to game the system with your reverts. Kuru (talk) 02:04, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • You actually made five reverts in a much-shorter-than-24-hour window, the first on March 31 at 20:28 and the last on April 1 at 1:14. 24 hours is irrespective of the calendar date. More importantly, you've essentially been edit-warring at that article since you were last blocked in mid-March.--Bbb23 (talk) 01:49, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

no simply because An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page—whether involving the same or different material—within a 24-hour period. if we talk about a day which is 24 hours and if you look cleary it says 1 of april 3 times. even if i had done a revert it was the last day 31 of march.Hadraa (talk) 01:54, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

You're thinking of "a day" and not "24 hours". The former isn't correct but the later is a Wikipedia policy (see WP:3RR). AcidSnow (talk) 02:02, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

didnt know that 24 hour period was about the last time you made your last revert but thought it was daily so now i get it and hope to unblock a honest mistack from me. Hadraa (talk) 02:12, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Your actions were inappropriate and not the way to handle an edit dispute regardless of the time frame attached to the edits. This is not the first time you've been blocked for edit warring, so I do not trust that if we were to unblock right now that you would go about disputes in proper ways. only (talk) 02:25, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

I didn't realize that you'd been blocked for 24 hours on 18 March for edit warring. I first encountered you at State of Somaliland on 19 March. I came upon you falsely accusing someone else of violating it—and then saw that that person hadn't but that you had, within 24 hours of the expiration of the previous block. I pointed out to you the irony of accusing another person of 3RR when you were the one who had just violated it, but I also gave you the benefit of the doubt since your reply was apologetic. I'm sure I wouldn't have if I had noticed the block that had just expired. —Largo Plazo (talk) 23:19, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
—Largo Plazo that is the hole point which was i didnt know , i dont know why that is hard for people to belive i never even heard about the 3RR before i was blocket.and about accusing another person i would have not done it if i read the 3RR but i didnt simply because i was frustrated from the block and then i learned that if you revert yourself its taken has one time ,and you showed me that and you know that i apologized and took the hole thing out in good fate so i dont hurt the person, and it was me who asked your help on 19 March in editing simply because i am not good in it, but why do i bother when a source like Shinn that i have been with your help working on for 2 weeks simply disappear and is replaced with Unionists from Northern Somalia which is not even half of the reliability of Shinns work the moment i am blocked .Hadraa (talk) 02:12, 2 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
I don't understand the rationale behind your protest. I told you about it two weeks ago. So you knew about it before today, which is when you were blocked for violating it in an article I have had nothing to do with. —Largo Plazo (talk) 02:15, 2 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
dont even know why i am replying to you knowing that reading someone words and assuming what they ment is not one of your hard elements mening now and Shinn in beging. p.s you to made a mistake but i didnt hold it against you.Hadraa (talk) 02:37, 2 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
