Speedy deletion nomination of Clean Diesel Technologies

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Clean Diesel Technologies requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://investor.cdti.com/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Clean Diesel Technologies

Hello HCW33,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Clean Diesel Technologies for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. LivitEh?/What? 13:36, 18 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your first article...

edit

Hi there! I saw on the talk page for Clean Diesel Technologies that you're really trying to write this article, and I'd like to help you along. The problem is, that in order for the article to remain here, it has to follow some basic policies. The most important ones you should know right now are WP:Notability, WP:Reliable Sources, and WP:Copyright.

First you need to make sure the topic you are writing about is notable. We only have articles on things which other publishers have viewed as important enough to write articles about. We use other publishers to determine what is notable, and what is not.

In order to apply the notability policy, you need to understand what a reliable source is. It is through coverage in reliable sources, that we judge notability. Of particular interest in your case is our policy on WP:SPS self published sources.

Finally, about copyright. You can't cut and paste, or even closely paraphrase anything else that has been published on the Internet, unless it has specifically been released into the public domain or a license that allows for free use. 99.9% of corporate websites do not fall into this category. So you can't cut and paste from the company's website into Wikipedia. Not even 1 sentence. Not even one word. You have to write the article using the sources, but the article has to be 100% pure work. As a PhD student, I'm sure you have lots of experience with academic writing. Treat this exactly the same way.

Good luck to you. If you have any questions, you can feel free to let me know. If you reply here on this page, please place the talkback template on my talk page - it lets me know you have responded. To do that, just add a new section to my talk page with {{tb|HCW33}}... that's all you need to do. The template will magically send me here. LivitEh?/What? 15:18, 20 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Zeltiq Aesthetics Inc

edit

Hello HCW33,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Zeltiq Aesthetics Inc for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Nobelquest (talk) 16:27, 5 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you. 220 of Borg 13:01, 25 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello, HCW33 and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students.

Go through our online training for students.

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Helpme}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, if your class doesn't already have one. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! 220 of Borg 17:45, 25 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello, HCW33, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia. Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who use multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please remember to disclose these connections.

I have blocked this account because it seems obvious that you are also operating the account User:Helen1023. Please use only one account from now on.

If you feel that this block is unjustified, you may contest this block by placing the tag {{unblock | reason=your reason here ~~~~}} below this message, but please read Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks first. ~Amatulić (talk) 05:49, 27 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Perceptron Inc

edit

The article Perceptron Inc has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of significance or importance. Being a public traded company does not assert notability. Routine stock market reports, corporate listings, and press releases. Fails WP:GNG, WP:ORG, and WP:ORGDEPTH.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
