Hello, Jamiebuba! What can I do to make the article better? There's an article about this artist in Russian Wiki
https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9B%D0%BE%D0%B3%D1%83%D1%82%D0%BE%D0%B2,_%D0%92%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%B4%D0%B8%D0%BC%D0%B8%D1%80
So this is not an advertisment, he is an influantial and well known artist here in Russia. I tried to do my English article about him more informative, with more facts about his artistic practices then in Russian article and I'm surprised that it's not enough for English version of the article.
Maybe I should put more links from English resources? Gzub4ik (talk) 08:00, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello Hoary! Thank you very much for your comment. I don't quite understand why it is necessary to remove external links from the article. What's wrong with them? Gzub4ik (talk) 12:12, 7 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
External links to worthwhile web pages and PDFs are welcome, of course -- but only within references. (A small number may be OK within a list of "External links", and there are a very few other possibilities. But these needn't concern us here.) But you use them in the main text, for example He also worked as a curator for the [https://artsfera.org/en/about-foundation/ SPHERE Contemporary Art Foundation], Moscow (2014-2022). This isn't acceptable. -- Hoary (talk) 23:35, 7 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the answer. Now I understand. Gzub4ik (talk) 09:35, 8 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello Hoary! The fact is that I am a journalist and I write about contemporary art. Accordingly, I am familiar with many artists, including Vladimir Logutov. This is a rather narrow circle of people, a narrow environment. I just wrote about what is close to me. About the artist. However, I am not his friend and I wrote the article on my own initiative. As for the photos, he has permission to use the portrait from the photographer Matteo Lonardi, so he gave it to me and I published the photo as mine, but signed that the photographer is Matteo Lonardi. Gzub4ik (talk) 12:09, 7 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for telling me this. I'm about to remove the COI template. But unfortunately what you say raises another problem. If Matteo Lonardi is the "author" (photographer), then (i) the photo is not your "own work", and (ii) Lonardi is the person who must contact Wikimedia Commons to say that the photo may be used (and not only on Wikipedia, but also anywhere else). He'll be able to do so in Russian or Italian; but if he's an acquaintance of an acquaintance, then for you to persuade him to do this could be more troublesome than for you to take a photograph that really would be your "own work". -- Hoary (talk) 23:47, 7 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hoary, thank you very much for your clarification. I didn't seem to understand how the copyright system works here. I'll think about the best way to do it. Since I interview artists and sometimes make pictures of them, I have portraits of Logutov from several exhibitions by my own. Perhaps it makes sense to actually post my own picture. Vladimir Logutov moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Vladimir Logutov, is not suitable as written to remain published. It appears there is a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. As per WP policy, please do not move into mainspace yourself. Onel5969 TT me 17:51, 1 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
