May 2022 edit

Hello, I'm Gsquaredxc. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, Bai Baihe, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Gsquaredxc (talk) 04:55, 25 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

June 2022 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia! Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent uploads, such as the file you uploaded at Jiujiang, did not appear to be constructive and has been or soon will be deleted. Please read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Hello Gweilo60, as noted, please feel free to upload a representative image of Jiujiang if you happen to have one. Your image is not pertinent and does not meet MOS:IMAGERELEVANCE. I would remind you that the MOS does not require any photo of a city/settlement to be recent and while it would be best to a have a more recent and representative photo of Jiujiang, in the meantime the infobox image should illustrate the article's topic. Please refrain from WP:EDITWAR until a consensus has been reached. NoGhost (talk) 06:19, 29 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. NoGhost (talk) 23:24, 18 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Notice of edit warring noticeboard discussion edit

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you. NoGhost (talk) 05:03, 19 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Daniel Case (talk) 06:18, 19 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Your reason here NoGhost used some fake and also outdated old photo to represent jiujiang city, why I can't stop him. He constantly used fake photos and so I have to remove those photos constantly. Gweilo60 (talk) 06:30, 19 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You seem to be attempting to justify your edit warring, not say why it was wrong. Even if you are correct with your edits, that is not a defense, as everyone in an edit war thinks that they are correct. 331dot (talk) 06:47, 19 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I am new to wiki,so I don't quite get what does edit warring mean. But from my point of view, I think it's Gohost started this warring. NoGhost started to change photo of Jiujiang in the first place, and I have to constantly remove his fake photos. If he doesn't use fake photos, I wouldn't be involved in this warring, right? He is also the only editor wants to change photo with fake photo. I am a responder, not initiator of this warring

Decline reason:

Even if you do not initiate the edit war, you are still edit warring. To be unblocked early, you will need to provide reassurances that you will not continue edit warring. PhilKnight (talk) 09:26, 19 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Mountain Lu National Ecopark edit

Hi, there is no such designation in this province. You can only find the national-level "Lushan Scenic and Historic Area/庐山风景名胜区", previously known as "Lushan National Park", 1982) and the "Lushan Quarternary Glaciation National Geopark/江西庐山第四纪冰川国家地质公园" (2001) in Jiangxi. The NATIONAL ECOPARK/国家生态公园 is a relatively new (launched in 2013, Kaihua in Zhejiang being the first) and small-size protected area type in China. The National Forestry and Grassland Administration has suspended the designation of National Ecopark since 2017. Officially there are only 18 NATIONAL ECOPARKS in China Cybercicada (talk) 12:17, 23 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Jiujiang and Lushan city are both cities, they are not mountain, Gweilo60 (talk) 12:53, 23 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Lushan NSHA and NGP are both PROTECTED AREAS, not MOUNTAINS. Their boundaries may even extend to the islet on the Poyang Lake and include many cultural heritage. As a rule of thumb, virtually most non-English speaking countries have fully transliterated the proper (herein, 庐/Lu) and common names (herein, 山/shan) according to their native languages. You may find the examples here: in the National parks of Taiwan, the HANZI "山“ are all transliterated as "shan"; in the List of national parks of Japan, the KANJI "山" are all transliterated as "san“, "zan"" or "yama"; in the List of national parks of South Korea, the HANJA "山" are all transliterated as "san"; in the List of national parks of Vietnam, the Chữ Hán "山" is transliterated as "Sơn". Likewise, the Italian word Monte insteads of Mountain could be found in the List of national parks of Italy. You may also want to check the websites of UNESCO: Lushan National Park[1] and Lushan UNESCO Global Geopark [2]. Finally, please don't try to change the official name of the 庐山第四纪冰川国家地质公园 (第四纪冰川means quarternary glaciation) as approved by the Ministry of Natural Resources (ministerial notice: 国土资发〔2001〕76号) on March 6, 2001. Cybercicada (talk) 07:52, 24 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

You cant use lushan to represent mountain because there is a city called lushan too, so it is confusing Gweilo60 (talk) 14:33, 24 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

December 2022 edit

Hello, I'm Archer1234. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Chang Ya-juo, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Archer1234 (talk) 04:35, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

She was born in Jiujiang. Gweilo60 (talk) 10:53, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Gweilo60. I am Archer1234. I note that you reverted my edit at Chang Ya-juo with an edit summary that says "She was born in Jiujiang." Unfortunately, your edit does not identify the published reliable source that can be used to verify the claims you inserted. Can you identify a published reliable source that verifies the claims? If so, please add citation to the claims in the article. If you do not, the claims will have to be reverted per Wikipedia's verifiability policy. I know that you are familiar with Wikipedia's policy on edit-warring, so I encourage you not to continue to reinsert the claims without proper citations. Thank you. — Archer1234 (talk) 11:06, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Her birthplace is yongxiu, but yongjiu belongs to jiujiang. Common knowledge deoent need citation Gweilo60 (talk) 11:12, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
In what published reliable source does it say where she was born? I accept that yongxiu is part of jiujiang, but you have not identified the published reliable source says she was born there. Thank you for your attention to this matter. — Archer1234 (talk) 11:36, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Do you wanna delete her birthplace from her palge at all? It says her birthplace is yongxiu before my edit. Gweilo60 (talk) 11:38, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
At first I had no reason to doubt she was born there, but since it apparently cannot be sourced to any published reliable source then it should be removed. I will take a look and see what else may not be sourced. — Archer1234 (talk) 11:59, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Pagemoves edit

Hi, thanks for your contributions. I note that you've boldly moved several articles, which I've reverted. Note that any pagemoves need to be verifiable; see WP:SOURCES. I urge you to self-revert these, as there doesn't appear to be any evidence of "Mountain Lu" being commonly used in secondary sources. 162 etc. (talk) 15:18, 9 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

庐山 is very where on Chinese website, this mountain is called 庐山,it means Lu mountain. So what's your problem of using Lu mountain as it's name? Gweilo60 (talk) 15:21, 9 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
庐山 refers to Lu mountain, this is common sense, what do you want to verfiee? 庐山 is the name of this mountain, check website yourself, Gweilo60 (talk) 15:23, 9 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
To editor 162 etc.: what I see in the sources is pretty mixed. For example, one source does call it "Mount Lu"[3], but that reads like a travel brochure, so it's reliability might be in question. Another interesting source[4] refers to a film called Romance on Lushan Mountain, but the phrase "Lushan Mountain" appears to just be "Lu Mountain Mountain" in English. Even the UNESCO website[5] is confusing, because it refers to "Mount Lushan", which in English reads as "Mount Lu Mountain", if I'm not mistaken. Seems like the present title of Lu mountain is the highest and best title, since the sources are so mixed. Editor, Gweilo60, we very seldom see mountains titled in English as "Mountain (Name)". We often see in English "Mount (Name)" or "(Name) mountain". It's usually very important on Wikipedia to not use "common sense", which is often original research, and stick as closely as possible to reliable sources. In this case sticking to reliable sources is not easy to do! P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 16:28, 9 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

March 2023 edit

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Thank you. Silikonz💬 01:46, 15 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Blocked for sockpuppetry edit

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Gweilo60. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.
