Template:GR

I think your last edit to Template:GR broke the Wiki markup- take a look at the Demographics section of Kushinagar. The page is protected right now, so I couldn't revert the change. Thanks. --Clay Collier 09:44, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

The edit to the GR template was part of a bot task that would add <ref> tags to the GR references in Indian towns. I finished a trial-run of 50 edits. Please check Abhayapuri for an example. I am waiting for a approval to finish the job. Once task is complete, the URL will move to the refernces section below. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 15:46, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

State logos in Templates

Ganesh, There has been some recent discussion on whether the inclusion of Maharashtra state logo in the {{Maharashtra}} template complies with WP:NFCC. This may be a concern with navigational boxes for other states too. Can you please take a look at the discussion here and comment on both the copyright issue and the feasibility of a technical solution ? Regards. Abecedare 14:13, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Sorry to sound a fool, i havent understood anything! How does File:Keralaseal.gif is allowed to use but not MH's. Why? The logo is not visible now. The copyright policy of MH govt's website is as follows TOS

"Material featured on this site may be reproduced free of charge in any format or media without requiring specific permission. This is subject to the material being reproduced accurately and not being used in a derogatory manner or in a misleading context. Where the material is being published or issued to others, the source must be prominently acknowledge. However, the permission to reproduce this material does not extend to any material on this site which is identified as being the copyright of the third party. Authorisation to reproduce such material be obtained from the copyright holders concerned."

Can u allow the image to be visible now? (Stateofart 04:29, 6 September 2007 (UTC))

Ganesh MH govt's TOS say it can be used without any problem. Can u plz revert ur edits??? (Stateofart 06:50, 7 September 2007 (UTC))

"This is subject to the material being reproduced accurately and not being used in a derogatory manner or in a misleading context." And we are not doing anything of that sort. The template is not meant to use only on Maharashtra article, but other topics related to it too. Also keralaseal image is used everywhere without any objection. We are not doing anything wrong. Maharashtra seal is necessary as an identity. Govt is because of the people of MH. I think we are being too much anxious of it. (Stateofart 07:27, 8 September 2007 (UTC))

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Nehru indian independence speech.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Nehru indian independence speech.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 16:15, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Hello i saw ur edits in Mumbai page. Please note that the native name of the city is मुंबई (Mumbaī) in Marathi language and the other name (here in English) is Mumbai. Please dont get confused there's a slight difference in both. It appears on map because who created the box wanted the native name to be displayed and not other name. Please see Bangalore. {{Autism-stub}}

Hi - I see you have recently created one or more new stub types. As it states at Wikipedia:Stub, at the top of most stub categories, and in many other places on Wikipedia, it is recommended that new stub types are proposed prior to creation at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, in order to check whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it is otherwise correctly formatted, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, and whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies. Your new stub type is currently listed at WP:WSS/D - please feel free to make any comments there as to any rationale for this stub type. And please, in future, consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 00:50, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Kindly have a look at this

Hi! How r u? :-) I guess ive met u earlier in Orkut (Not sure though). Anyway the matter i wish to consult you is about vandalism and vanity in a Wikipedia article.

I had earlier affixed a NPOV violation tag on an article on Bhumihars, the reason being that I felt it was filled with blatant Bhumihar propaganda with no references provided.

The issue with which I am contacting you is that each and every time I affix an NPOV tag to the article it is being repeatedly removed by one of the regular contributors to the article whose URLs I have given below. However, the user/s concerned have not taken the pain to explain the reasons as to why the tag should be removed.

On examining the history page you might observe that most of the edits have been performed by blacklisted or newly created profiles or by an anonymous user.

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bhumihar&action=history

Just have a look at the users who have been editing the article

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Adhir_sharma http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/220.225.244.42

As I am not a sysop in Wikipedia, I cannot block these individuals or protect the page.

I request you to consider this issue and take necessary action. Bye :-) -Ravichandar84 05:12, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

There are names of numerous Zamindars and Civil servants with just one reference for the whole article. Full of unverifiable edits by Ranvir Sena elements. -Ravichandar84 05:16, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi Ganeshjee. I got an e-mail from one of my friends associated with Wikia Inc about the donation video, and saw myself in the video :) I also thank you for your message. Perhaps you may remember that the footage featuring me (for 3 - 4 seconds) is part of the press conference held on 25th February, 2007 at Tidel Park. BTW, Right now, office work is a bit heavy and I am unable to do much here though I shall become fully "operational" very soon. Warm regards. --Bhadani (talk) 17:53, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:NCP logo 2006 04 27.PNG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:NCP logo 2006 04 27.PNG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. PxMa 00:49, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
