Speedy deletion nomination of Kiran kodithala
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Kiran kodithala, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Conflict of interest
editHello, Filokalos1974. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Kiran kodithala, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.
The article Kiran Kodithala has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Unnotable person; sources do not make him appear to be major, and his company does not have an article.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. AnUnnamedUser (open talk page) 04:18, 14 August 2019 (UTC)

Request reason:
If you look at my past contributions, you'll see that I have done much more over the years than the posts I tried to create yesterday. I am not connected with Kiran Kodithala or N2N Services in any way, or being compensated by them or by anyone else. I was approached by a friend of mine who knew I had edited Wikipedia articles in the past, who asked me to be an impartial editor for an article she was writing about a friend of hers who is involved in a lot of nonprofit work, Kiran. From the feedback we got about the post about Kiran (see above), it said we needed to cite higher quality sources, and that his company needed a page as well, to prove he was notable enough. So I added an article about him in Forbes as a source, and then created a page about his company to link to him. I am sorry if I misunderstood what was allowed or what was needed - can you please advise me as to what I should do to get unblocked, and if possible, how it would be possible for me or someone else to help my friend? Thank you. Filokalos1974 (talk) 12:32, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
Decline reason:
You clearly stated you are directly related to Kodithala and N2N Services by noting that you owned the copyright to File:Kiran-kodithala.png. So either you were lying there or you are lying here. You'll need to clarify that if you write another unblock request. Yamla (talk) 12:56, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:
Ack, I didn't realize that would cause an issue! My friend gave me that image and said it was fine to upload it into the Commons under my own name - she didn't know how to do it herself, and asked me to handle it since I had an account already and everything. I'm sorry that caused a problem. I obviously went about this whole thing in the wrong way - is there a legitimate way for me to help my friend? We read some articles about needing an impartial editor, etc., and thought we were doing it correctly, but should I tell her to go about it a different way? Should she just make her own account and declare her connection to Kiran? Or what would be the best way to handle this? Filokalos1974 (talk) 13:27, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
Decline reason:
The best way to handle this would be to read WP:BIO and understand that the subject does not meet our notability requirements. To be unblocked, you're going to need to explicitly agree to not make further promotional edits for yourself or on anyone else's behalf. OhNoitsJamie Talk 13:47, 14 August 2019 (UTC)

OK. I agree not to make promotional edits for myself or on anyone's behalf. Sorry for being dense about how it all works! Filokalos1974 (talk) 14:25, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
Accept reason:
I am unblocking you given your agreement to not make promotional edits. Welcome back. 331dot (talk) 00:12, 19 August 2019 (UTC)
So what will you edit about if unblocked? 331dot (talk) 21:22, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
I'll continue to edit pages about Germanic family histories, genealogies, etc. - if you look at my past contributions, you'll see that's what I've primarily done here over the years. Like I mentioned above, I was just trying to help out a friend here, didn't realize it'd cause such a problem, and I'm very sorry and definitely won't do it again.Filokalos1974 (talk) 15:57, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
- Athaenara is there anything you need to see for an unblock here? 331dot (talk) 17:47, 18 August 2019 (UTC)

The Hirschherz moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, The Hirschherz, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ... discospinster talk 00:01, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
The article Hirschherz stone has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:V and WP:N. Only cited source appears to be a primary inventory source. There is not a single mention of this stone on the internet (when searching for 'Hirschherz Hahnsberg'), indicating that this is a non-notable family heirloom.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
